I went today to the emergency room at North Shore Medical Center after having gallbladder removal…read moresurgery last week and being in pain. Upon arrival the security ignored me and told me to took a seat. No one was at the front desk. Once the representatives at the front desk, a lady with long hair and a guy with a beard they completely ignored my need for help. It took 40 minutes for them to take me in after I threw up and was screaming and crying in pain to be helped. I was ignored multiple times by the lady in the front desk until I yelled sternly for her to tell them I needed to see someone. She made smart remarks about me to another member of the hospital saying "that one" to refer to me needing help and the lady told her "and what". Had it been a worse situation I could've been seriously hurt or worse.It is completely unacceptable how they treat patients. The nurses and doctors were very nice and understanding and took care of me as quick as they could but the front of the Emergency room needs a lot of improvement and people that actually like their jobs and have some sense of urgency. The hospital is dirty and the bathrooms smell awful. Compared to other hospitals I've been to it's clearly noticeable there is no priority to make a good impression on patients. Had I not been in such pain I would've left. I will also never recommend this place to anyone

Dr. Sanchez was very helpful and offered additional recommendations for me in addition to treating my problems and prescribing medication. I was even able to purchase prescription medication from in their office. I was very happy with how kind everyone was and how quickly they took care of me. The care and quality is void!!! I run an orthopedic facility and would die if my staff was so unprofessional and unfriendly. Staff members walking around eating their lunch dropping crumbs. The waiting area is nasty and unkept. My brother who is the patient (first time visiting) has been asking for his identification and insurance card back for 30 minutes and the receptionist keeps brushing him off telling him she still has to scan it. It takes seconds to scan cards. I've been in the healthcare administration industry for well over 10 years and this is by far the worst facility I've seen. Will definitely be looking for someplace else for my family to go. We haven't even seen the doctor yet and I'm already ready to go!!!!
