It was a difficult time for me. The medication I took (hydroxyurea) that controlled by blood platelets since 2012, stopped working. My hematologist recommended that I consult with Dr. Oleg Krijanovski, and to prepare for the meeting she gave me a pamphlet to read about a drug called Besremi - an injectable interferon therapy used to treat various blood disorders. I entered the meeting with Dr. Oleg Krijanovski feeling extreme anxiety and uncertainty and left the meeting with all my questions answered, feeling heard, and feeling hopeful. He was easy to talk to, respectful and showed empathy. The doctor also has an amazing team that works together to provide excellent patient care. Four months into my new health journey, I feel very fortunate and blessed that Dr. Oleg Krijanovski is my doctor.

Our district contracted with your organization, and at the time of enrollment, we and our district were not made aware of the strict two-year contract policy that restricts the RBT from continuing to work with the same student. Allow me to provide some context. My son is a 17-year-old nonverbal individual with severe autism. He is extremely shy and requires a significant amount of time to build trust with someone before they can enter his personal space. Unfortunately, during my recent meeting with Dale Young, it became evident that no exceptions could be made to extend the contract of the current RBT with whom my son has developed a strong bond and trust. He kept stating that he firmly believes that it's important that they are able to work with others we agree as well we are seasoned parents. He's 17. There is rotation happening already in the classroom everyday. I just wanted him to have the best last two years of high school as possible and not have to have a transition happened twice. So at the end of the day, your company and Dale Young do not taken to consideration of the individual human. By this decision by Dale Young and your policy is going to cause extreme regression and depression anxiety on my 17 year-old son. I left the meeting with feeling like I was talking to a AI. From our very first interaction and assessment, to our now sessions that have gone virtual, Bettina continues to impress me with her vast knowledge and creative techniques which has translated to immense improvements for our daughter. Bettina also provides a holistic perspective and keeps in mind my daughter's other occupational and physical therapeutic needs, as well as her speech/language goals. Even in this chaotic time of COVID, Bettina has gone the extra mile to make her sessions with my daughter fun and engaging. As an example, she keeps my 4 year old child 100% engaged in virtual sessions for 45 mins straight. Those of you with children (with or without IEPs) understand that this is a near impossible task that Bettina manages to handle with ease....but the truth is that Bettina spends a lot of time thinking of creative ways to keep her engaged! Additionally, our family has always felt incredibly supported by Bettina as we navigate the IEP system. She has taken the time to train my nanny as well as provide exercises for us to do at home. Finally, my daughter absolutely ADORES Bettina and looks forward to 'play' time with her each and every week. If that isn't the greatest endorsement, I don't know what is! Thank you so much Bettina!!

I was admitted with a kidney stone that left me literally kneeling by the hospital bed in agony when he first came in to see me. From the moment he walked in, his kind and calm demeanor made a huge difference. He didn't just rush through -- he took the time to explain what was happening, what my options were, and how we could relieve the pain and get me on the path to healing. He treated me like a person, not just a patient in crisis. His expertise was clear, but what stood out most was his compassion. He reassured me in a moment when I felt completely overwhelmed, and he guided me through the procedure with such steady confidence that I felt safe placing my trust in him. Thanks to his care, I am able to move from a place of unbearable pain to healing and stability. I'm deeply grateful to Dr. Barme and would highly recommend him to anyone facing urological issues -- not only for his medical skill, but for the humanity he brings into the room.

He was behind schedule (which is fine because that's not uncommon) and seemed very rushed when he came in. Didn't introduce the femme person who came in to presumably take notes; she didn't introduce herself either and had her back to us most of the time. He looked at my MRI for maybe 1 second, pulled up a chair and manspread way too close to me considering he didn't intend to actually examine me, even though they made me change into the paper shorts. After giving me a pretty extreme prognosis, he put his hand on my thigh, which maybe he was trying to be consoling but it felt really inappropriate considering he made no attempt to build any trust or rapport. He told me that my hip looks like its 10 years older than the rest of me, that theres nothing I can do but physical therapy (which is who suggested I go to orthopedics in the first place), surgery would not help, and that I should never expect to regain any flexibility or range of motion. I should stop any impact movements so no running, jumping etc ever again. I'm only 41 so this was intense. He told me I should see a rheumatologist- who actually looked at my MRI much longer than 1 second and thought it was odd that my orthopedic surgeon didn't recommend surgery for a very fixable labral tear. Both my physical therapist and rheumatologist recommended I get a second opinion. This experience was so traumatizing, I was a mess for days thinking there were activities I would never be able to do again.

Here are the issues I've experienced: 1) As many have pointed out, the patient coordinator Mariah doesn't provide adequate service. She is slow to respond, lacks empathy, is unpleasant to speak to and very short in her interactions with patients. 2) Cultural competency is also an area of concern when it comes to basic procedures. I was made to feel like I was wrong for asking for accommodations that take my religious beliefs and financial situation into account. 3) I also received an unexpected bill for asking simple questions about the procedure and what it entails because initial information was not provided. 4) Lastly, results are handled poorly - they basically release them via the portal but don't provide any explanation about test results for days after. I'm still not sure if it's because I called the office and pressed to have the doctor explain them or if they are just that delayed that it took them a week to follow up with me. These were pretty significant results that required additional levels of testing. It's concerning to be able to see your findings but not have a doctor or professional explain them to you for nearly a week.

I agree with others that Dr. Cheng is a competent and compassionate doctor. But over the years the practice has ballooned in size to the point where the staff is totally overwhelmed and careless mistakes affecting patient care are being made. Dr. Cheng's previous patient care coordinator, Nicole, was amazing, but the new coordinator, Mariah, is clearly out of her depth. My specialty pharmacy told me they made 6 attempts to get a new authorization and never got a callback. I later found out that when Mariah submitted the authorization paperwork the first time, she encountered a problem, noted it in my medical chart (cya) but never bothered to inform me so I could follow up. On her second attempt, she made a careless mistake (she answered it was "unknown" if my medication was helping me) that caused my authorization to be denied. When a customer service rep from the insurance company informed her of the error, she denied that she was responsible then complained that she was being asked to submit my authorization for a third time. Sorry to inconvenience you, but it's your job!

Point of this is don't come here if you need any kind of ADA related support or if you are married they are not particularly friendly towards individuals with these circumstances in my experience. A report with patient advocacy will be filed, there's nothing in this business or medical facility can do to morally retract their actions, when I was able-bodied I myself worked in healthcare and I would've never treated anyone with disabilities like this. Overall I did not feel listened to I did not feel seen and I did not feel like my health concerns were taken care of appropriately. Thank you for hearing my feedback.

Consequently, we decided to keep looking. A year later, I received a bill for almost $2,000 for this - even after they had assured me in writing that my consultation was covered by my insurance, except for the small co-pay. Almost $2,000 for 2 telehealth calls - 45 mins and 30 mins long. The window for appealing to my insuarnce (even though this was their mistake and not mine) is only 6 months long, and I received my first invoice from this outfit a year after the appointment. After much back and forth, they offered me a 35% discount if I paid immediately. Thank goodness we decided against using BACA in the end and my son got amazing care and help from a different team who put his mental health needs first. He did not need the Intensive Outpatient Program BACA recommended and he's now considered to be in remission and thriving. Be sure to check out their employee's experience on Indeed. Even they think BACA has lost its way and is hyperfocused on $$ over care.
