For a number of years I've wanted to get my old cine films (from my childhood way back in the 70s!!!) transferred onto video or DVD. I'd made enquiries in the past but never got round to doing anything about it.
Well, my parents' wedding anniversary was approaching and I thought it would be a nice gift for them, too. So I set about making enquiries once again. Two problems here. Firstly, for the quantity of film I had, it was going to cost around £70, and secondly, no-one could do the job in less than two weeks.
Being the organised person that I am (NOT!), I didn't have two weeks to spare. I needed it doing right now! I was about to give up when I spotted an advert for iMemoryBox in one of the local free papers. I thought I'd give them a try.
From the website, I think this is some sort of franchise, because they seem to have branches all over the world. However, the person I dealt with was just about half an hour's drive from me.
Initially, she also said it would take about two weeks. When I explained the situation, however, she said she would see what she could do. Sure enough, she came back to me and said they could do the job in just a few days. I got a fantastic service from them. They collected the cine film from my house, and delivered it back to my door when it was ready. The cost was the same as all the other people wanted to charge me, but the service was outstanding! I was so impressed with the way they were prepared to go out of their way to help me, and they were such friendly people, too.
