I know she had problems with this, she had called 2 weeks prior to confirm the appointments and they were not in the system, so she had to rebook, which did make her very nervous. But the day of.. everything worked out fine. I grew up in McAllen, now live in SA, and had been in California prior to that.. so coming back down to the valley for hair and makeup made me nervous as to what we may be getting. I was pleasantly surprised! The salon was really cute and quaint. We were offered water or mimosas when we first arrived. The mimosas were really good. The stylists were extremely nice. I showed a pic off Pinterest of the updo I wanted. Carina nailed it. I was so happy. I absolutely loved what she did, and she did it based off a picture!! I would definitely recommend her for updos for any purpose, formula, proms, weddings, you name it. Rebecca did makeup for 2 of us. She was so kind, energetic and very informative. I explained what I wanted, the color of my dress and expressed my love of GLITTER, not shimmer, glitter. And she too nailed it! I will definitely come back to The Dry Room for future makeup and up do needs next time I need something and I am in McAllen.

The atmosphere was very warm & inviting. She asked what kind of look I would like and since this was my first time doing something like this, I told her I trusted her and would leave it up to her, as this is her field. I shared the colors I was wearing to help with coordinating the eye shadow colors. The end result clearly showed she is skilled in her profession and I was very satisfied with my makeup. I felt confident & beautiful and received many compliments on my makeup from family & friends. Lolly took the time to listen to me and I couldn't be happier with the results. A couple of days before the wedding I had my eyelashes done elsewhere and they were awful. Not only did Lolly work me in to fix them for me, when I arrived into town, but she would not even let me pay her. She genuinely cared that as mother of the bride, I was embarrassed to attend the wedding with my lashes the way they were. She came to my rescue! Such kindness and generosity is a rare thing to find. On the wedding day she did a fantastic job. She was easy to work with and very accommodating. I am very impressed with her and her artistic ability! They charged me $350! Straight out told me I was being charged for balayage and not HIGHLIGHTS WHAT I ASKED FOR. SUPER DISAPPOINTED! I'm disputing the charge because the service received was not what I asked for. And I requested highlights! I even tried calling the salon back and they never answered my call and someone called me back at 9 at night when I called back there was no answer. This is worst nightmare ever! They lady Yuri is the one who worked on my hair. I'm from the Houston area so I figured why not do something different for the summer! This is like a horror movie to me! Now, usually when you call a business you are presented with the name of the business, person who is helping you, followed with "how may I help you". NOPE, this doesn't exist here. You are presented with "Si". Okay. Moving on I explained what I needed. Lady spoke in Spanish the entire time. No problem, however if your soon to be customer speaks only English you need to be transparent and say I don't speak English or that someone who speaks English will call them later. Okay, moving on...I spoke in Spanish, explained what I needed. Sent her photos of color reference and a photo of the haircut I wanted. Time was agreed at 10am, time that its registered on her business when the doors open. The day of the appointment comes. I arrive at 9:50am, and I stay in my car until I see the open sign on. Its becomes 10:03 am. I text her I have arrived. Half an hour passes and NO SHOW. I text to cancel the appointment. NO ONCE DID SHE TEXT SHE WAS ON HER WAY. NOT ONCE WAS I TEXTED BACK APOLOGIZING FOR MAKING ME WAIT. NOTHING. Now, all these glowing reviews are in Spanish and it just makes me wonder: are they customers or relatives, both? NOW, the 1 negative review that I did found was explaining THE EXACT THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME: being there at 10am and waiting (in the case of the negative review) an HOUR for the owner to show up. IF your place a business hour and cannot manage to show up in time, adjust the time when you are able to. If you are running late, COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER!!!!!! IF you are unable to work at the scheduled hour, COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER!!! Again, COMMUNICATE!!!!! Beautiful before and after pictures won't make your business; responsibility and business ethics does. I don't recommend this place, unless you like to waste your time waiting for the owner to eventually show up. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
