Also, they offer online viewing for when we're not able to make it in person. On our first visit, the pastor was out in the lobby talking with everyone and they are super welcoming to newcomers. The preaching style is forward with a touch of humor including biblical principles as it pertains to God's word. There is no concern for a particular dress code. Many wear jeans and shorts as well as t-shirts while others are comfortable in suits and ties or dresses. The worship is mostly modern with a band, consisting of guitars, bass, keyboards and drums while utilizing overheads for information and lyrics to easily follow along. UCF offers many life groups to get involved with who are full of people eager to befriend you and help when needed. There are programs/services for kids age infant - teen that are engaging, energetic and age appropriate. 3 services are offered on Sunday morning to fit your needs as well as a Wednesday night service that has a delicious home cooked meal before service starts, for a nominal fee. A Friday evening and Sunday evening Hispanic service is also available. This is truly a genuine church that can easily be called home and family!!

Pastor Bruce's message, even if they aren't always super-deep (understandable when you're trying to break Scripture down for a couple thousand people), are always spot on (reminds me of my favorite pastor from back in San Antonio, Pastor Scott Austin of Park Community Church). Next, there's the groups in this church. This might be where I would ding the church a little if I did, as I feel there could be more groups, more niches (but that's also partially my fault, I'll get into that in a bit). However, there are groups for people in all walks of life, and there is most certainly a group for you if you look for it...or maybe even a few groups. Next, and this is HUGE, this Church runs groups and programs that really work on the answer of "what's next?" AFTER you come to salvation. Too many churches work really hard to get people to recognize and submit to Christ as Lord and Savior...and then do nothing about what happens AFTER that. Biltmore Church helps walk with you through that journey AFTER that. For reference, I came to salvation 22 years ago this month...and it wasn't until about 2-3 years ago that my faith began to really take off...partially due to Biltmore Church. Next, let's talk about serving. One of the things the leadership at Biltmore Church pushes is "we equip an army, not an audience." EVERYBODY is encouraged to serve. For me, that's largely been more tech stuff (I'm a tech guy, it fits). Others serve in parking, greeting, facility maintenance, etc. In my small group, out of 15-20 people there are maybe 2 that I don't know if they're serving anywhere in the church. This concept really blew up during the recent floods after Helene, with our church jumping into action to take care of the community, whether with food and supplies or physically going places and removing trees or digging mud out of houses. We all serve...as Jesus would have us do. Now, to circle back on groups. Remember that one minor potential ding of not enough groups? ...that's mainly because nobody's made those groups yet. I haven't made that group yet. (I'm debating it in my case, but I'm also unsure if God wants me [personally] to continue along the activity that I would have wanted that group to use as a backdrop. [It's not a bad activity, it's games, lol...but it's kinda like Pastor Bruce said about country music for him...while it's not a bad thing, there was a time that God told him it wasn't for him, and I'm getting convicted of the same for me...games aren't a bad thing, but this is beginning to seem like a season where God is telling me they're not for me. If and when that season ends, if that group doesn't exist, I'll probably look at steps to make it myself.]) In short, though, I'd highly recommend Biltmore church for anybody looking for a place to worship or to find out more about God. Specifically, I'll drop a shameless plug for the West Asheville campus, because Pastor Victor is awesome too. And, lastly, if you do check out the West Asheville campus, feel free to come say 'hi.' Small group involvement requires you know someone already in a group or you wait until the next small group class which for us is two months out. Joining a mens or woman's bible study can't happen until the next session starts, again two months down the road. We have discussed this with two different staff members to no avail. It is disappointing trying to get connected. This is a big church and you won't get to really know anyone without getting connected- yet they make it difficult and it is uncertain why. The services are OK (dislike black stage, but that's just personal) and preaching is biblical but they throw a lot of different staff giving sermons with some being marginally gifted as teachers and shouldn't be in the pulpit- sorry but true. Regretfully, being new to Greenville and living just down the street from Fellowship, we will need to keep looking for a church.
