Last year, I knew there was something I was still missing, there had to be more than just going to church. I've always heard of having a personal relationship with Jesus but never had it. I thought with all of my past and iniquities that God wouldn't want me. Even though i prayed, read my bible every once in a while and did bible studies, I never felt the presence of God in my life. I watched TPC messages online, attended service, was welcomed with open arms and hand shakes. Someone came up to me and said let's meet and study what the Bible says. We met the next day and I had my eyes and mind immediately opened up to what the word says about my salvation, Acts 2:38. I accepted that verse as it was written, I didn't need anymore explanation and i immediately got to work. My mentor gave me verses, not a study, on repentance, how to repent and forgiveness. I read and understood and listened. I got on my hands, knees and face and asked for forgiveness. I asked God for forgiveness and heard Him say "yes Chris, I forgive you" first time I've ever heard God speak to me. I was beyond excited and told my mentor and asked him when I could get baptized, I was baptized later that day. TPC is real, authentic and truly interested in your salvation and having a relationship with Jesus. My life has changed for the better and I am so thankful and so blessed. Several years ago we found ourselves needing to find a new church home. After visiting churches for…read moremonths we were about to give up hope, and then we found New Life Christian Church (formerly Bella Vista Christian Church). We knew from the first visit that this was the place God wanted us to be in. What really sealed the deal for us was the church's unwavering stance on preaching the Gospel and not conforming to worldly views. As a father, is it so comforting knowing my family is being taught the true words of Christ. While the church is growing in size, with the multiple services it still has the personal feel - and there are many opportunities to jump in and feel as connected as you want to be. Finally, the Youth program is AMAZING. I have 2 teenage daughters who have been very involved with the youth group, and it has really helped to shape their lives. Sure there are lots of fun trips and outings, but most importantly each week there is a strong lesson delivered to the students followed by small group discussions to take a deeper dive into the subject matter. If you are in the same boat we were in and looking for a new Church, please put this one on your list to visit. If you have children you want to get plugged into an active and thriving youth program, please have them come visit!

Sad, so many others lack this. The pastor was a kind gentleman who also made us feel very welcome. The only reason we aren't going to make this our new church home is simply 'preference' that I won't mention here, as it would suggest this church is 'lacking' in some way. After a few years I decided to go visit Sonora Baptist Church, I had been to VBS their as a small child, and the church welcome me with open arms, and the pastor him self welcomed me with open arms. They did not judge me, they just Loved me, in a way no church body had ever done before in my life. After all this and still having some ups and some downs I have made Sonora my new church and I have been going their now for the last 13+ years. The church meets in a beautiful, historic building that is nestled in the heart of downtown Eureka Springs. It's a short walk or drive from the famous historic hotels and most of the Airbnb's in town. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops close by that you can visit before or after Bible study and worship service as well. Parking was on the side of the street, and they also have a small parking strip located on the street to the right of the church building. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted and shown genuine hospitality. This church is not just a building; it came across as a home where everyone is part of a larger family. Music was very traditional. The preacher preached straight from scripture. The building is historic and beautiful, and very neat to visit. We were even offered a tour and given a chance to explore after worship service. The older gentleman who showed us around was extremely nice and able to speak to the history of the church and community very well. For those seeking a family of believers in Eureka Springs or just somewhere to worship and hear the good news of Jesus Christ while visiting the area, I would highly recommend First Baptist Penn Memorial.
