I left a wonderful church family back home and because I did not know many people here yet I was hesitant. Cross Church seemed awesome but it was in Rogers and was rather far for me to travel due to my handicap. Two of my neighbors were regular church goers one was an assistant pastor of Word of Life on Centerton and my next door neighbor went to a smaller church named Lifepoint. Pastor Odum and wife Melissa were wonderful people and the Branscum's next door was great also. I had a decision to make. Lifepoint was closer because it was located in Beckendale plaza just 2-5 minutes away. I decided to visit them first, but I ended up staying with this church. Maybe because it was small, maybe because it was close but definitely the environment was very welcoming. It is a great family church with wonderful teachers and examples of God's word. Regardless of the reason I felt comfortable from the first day. Pastor Mike Brinson was very welcoming and accommodating his message was very inspiring! He taught The Word and provided great understanding of God's lessons. His wife Lori is a prime example of the Proverbs Woman. In the 5 years that I've been a member here I've seen families grow and saw many new babies born and even participated in the birth of a new church building. Lifepoint continues to grow in membership and from a small start in the Sienna estates clubhouse to two rental spaces in Beckendale Plaza, Lifepoint now owns property and building on the corner of Gamble and Herbaugh. The church body participated in its construction from contributions financially to hands on in the actual building. Pastor Mike himself took up the hammer, tools and paint brushes... it is a church to be proud of but more than that a TRUE Blessing for us all and to anyone who walks through our church doors. There's a Mission Cafe where all proceeds goes towards the missionaries we support. We have a children's ministry for infants on up to teens and now a newly established young adult ministry for those 19-30 singles. There's Wednesday nights dinner and Bible study with childcare and Sunday Services are 8:45 for those who teach and serve in the church ministries and 10 for the main service. After visiting churches for…read moremonths we were about to give up hope, and then we found New Life Christian Church (formerly Bella Vista Christian Church). We knew from the first visit that this was the place God wanted us to be in. What really sealed the deal for us was the church's unwavering stance on preaching the Gospel and not conforming to worldly views. As a father, is it so comforting knowing my family is being taught the true words of Christ. While the church is growing in size, with the multiple services it still has the personal feel - and there are many opportunities to jump in and feel as connected as you want to be. Finally, the Youth program is AMAZING. I have 2 teenage daughters who have been very involved with the youth group, and it has really helped to shape their lives. Sure there are lots of fun trips and outings, but most importantly each week there is a strong lesson delivered to the students followed by small group discussions to take a deeper dive into the subject matter. If you are in the same boat we were in and looking for a new Church, please put this one on your list to visit. Everyone in the church genuinely cares for each other and you can just tell in your spirit. The worship is great and the teaching is rich and life giving. Our kids have learned so much about Jesus and made great friends in the children's ministry, and my wife and I look forward to Men's ministry and Women's ministry nights once a month (plus some awesome retreats)! What Grace Hills, with Pastor Brandon at the helm, has done is create a sense of just how powerful a working relationship with God can be, and how it impacts everyday life. Now, and a little more each week, I find myself turning to God as a real being, who really cares what happens to me and all His children. Brandon gives practical, positive messages about an active experience of God's love. He makes it real, without judgment or threats of wrath. The church has a friendly, comfortable atmosphere, that welcomes everyone. This is the best church I've ever been to. I went to an adult group they had a few times while visiting that was spiritually nourishing. I have had some bad experiences with a staff member being overtly rude then suddenly changing attitudes finding out I worked in television. Also, there was a young adult group leader that I'm hoping has matured since I attended the group. That group was extremely elementary for being for adults living in a world facing real problems. Things happen as churches grow larger and it becomes harder to keep up with these things. I do think God's hand is over Cross Church and blessing it. I hope they continue to grow but more importantly are able to keep the community warmly welcomed from all walks of life leading to Jesus and the bad attitudes of the set few are changed so no one is turned away.
