This was my first time having any type of lip filler, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I went from having almost no visible upper lip especially when smiling to a more natural, balanced smile that made such a difference for me. I also had under-eye filler for the first time after years of hesitation due to seeing inconsistent results on others and the lack confidence at consultations with other providers in the past. Dawa immediately put me at ease, and the outcome surpassed what I hoped for. The under-eye filler didn't just address the hollowing, it subtly shaped and lifted my face in a way that looks refreshed and natural. The results are difficult to fully capture in photos, but in person they are even better than I imagined. I'm incredibly happy with my experience and will absolutely continue seeing Dawa in the future.

The nail technicians are extremely sweet, and have the best intentions with their services and interactions, while conversation is minimal, they are focused on the task at hand. Very satisfied with my pedi soak and light massage, in addition to my nail set. The prices are reasonable, especially with every increasing cost in every industry and business. Be nice to your nail technician, they are trying their best!

From the beginning, there were several communication issues and inconsistencies around what service I was actually receiving. I had originally booked a different nail service, but upon arrival there was confusion, and I was ultimately directed toward Gel X nails, which was not my initial preference. I tried to clarify multiple times that I wanted a hard gel set, but there seemed to be a misunderstanding, and communication became increasingly difficult. The salon environment itself also felt very hectic due to the constant flow of walk-in clients. As more people continued coming in during my appointment, the atmosphere became increasingly rushed and distracting, which I believe impacted the overall quality of the service being provided. During the service, I noticed multiple quality issues. Two nails -- specifically my left ring finger and right pointer finger -- were applied crooked and visibly slanted. Several nails had bald patches where gel polish was missing along the sides. The Gel X application was not placed fully up to the cuticle, leaving visible gaps of natural nail exposed. The surface of the nails was also bumpy and not properly refined or filed smooth. In terms of polish, only two coats were applied despite requesting a sheer jelly finish, which typically requires more coverage. As a result, the natural nail was still visible underneath. I also did not receive the ultra-gloss shine finish I had asked for, which was disappointing given the final result. The appointment felt increasingly rushed toward the end, and attention to detail suffered because of it. At one point, an acrylic tip was yanked off abruptly to restart the application, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Additionally, cuticle oil was not applied before I was asked to wash my hands, which is a standard step that was skipped. There was also a noticeable language barrier that made communication difficult throughout the appointment. While I tried to show reference photos and explain my preferences clearly, there were repeated misunderstandings, which added to the frustration on both sides. Because of this, I would personally prefer a nail technician who is able to clearly understand and communicate in English to avoid confusion in future appointments. When it came to payment, I was charged $85. The final cost did not feel reflective of the quality or outcome of the service provided. Given the issues with application, finish, and overall attention to detail, the result felt incomplete and not worth the price paid. Overall, I was disappointed with both the quality of work and the experience. I expected a more professional level of service, better attention to detail, and clearer communication. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this salon.

The whole salon is pleasant to be in (decor and music is great) and they have an army of workers. I like regular gel on my nails, but they offer it all. I'm pretty seasoned at this by now and what I've noticed is that I leave with great looking manicures, but every time I go back, my nails are thinner and weaker. I'm not sure if I'll keep going here because they seem to value time over the health of my nails. Every tech is quick to use the chemical remover that will sting/ burn your skin if it touches you, and takes the gel right off like acid. To make things even faster they'll use the dremmel to sand down the nail and remove any residual polish. This results in thinner, weaker, exposed nails over time. So when that chemical remover is painted on- wow! It hurts. It's cold and painful, and by the time you realize it- too late. I'm growing out my nails and letting them replenish themselves before I go back- which could take months. Why go back at all? Convenience, really. I'll likely ask them to lay off the chemical remover and wrap them instead. As far as polish colors go, they seem to have a lot, but they use a ton of DND. I prefer the longevity of OPI, but they do have some of this as well. They keep your info in their system but don't track your colors- note that detail yourself. I don't know if it's a gel thing, but it bothers me how rough they file my nails. It's never done with a fine grain along the edges. Inevitably I'll start snagging things with the edge of my fingernails and need to file them myself. Would I recommend this place? Yes, for ambiance and time alone. The cost is average to high if you go beyond the basic manicures, but this is Marin. I get better quality for the same, or less, in the city- so I may just start going back there until my nails are healthy again.
