This was not merely a disappointing pedicure. I was physically injured by the technician. She repeatedly cut into the SKIN around several toes, leaving them raw, ragged, and painful. She also cut my toenails unevenly and far too short, going below the white edge and into sensitive tissue. By the following day, several toes were bright red and throbbing. Because I am now concerned about infection, I am seeking medical care. What makes this even more alarming is that I have no way of knowing how thoroughly this salon cleans and disinfects its instruments. After experiencing such careless and unsafe work from a technician employed by the owner, I have serious concerns about the salon's overall safety standards. After a lot of searching, and a lot of 'fails' and so-so results at area salons, Ooh La La has become my go-to for mani-pedis. Before I found this spot, I'd been to several Marin salons recommended by friends and in reviews. But time and again, I ran into the same issue - nail techs who wouldn't listen when I asked them to be gentle. I love getting gel manicures, and it is absolutely infuriating to pay good $$$ to have my hands treated super aggressively with overly harsh filing and super-rushed soak-offs - the ones where they saw off old gel so harshly that they take several layers of your nail with it instead of letting the acetone do the work. Ugh! All it takes is a little more time and a wee bit of patience so clients don't end up with pits, ridges and other unnecessary nail damage. I had given up on manicures for a while so my hands could recover from the last two shops. But when a Sephora employee with really pretty nails told me about Ooh La La, I decided to give them a shot. I've now been back several times for manicures and pedicures, and I can recommend ALL of the techs who've helped me there - Hannah, Vivian. They listen, they're careful and they do such beautiful work! Most recently I got Gel-X with Holly, and I'm hooked. She is efficient, conscientious, patient with my picky ways and her artistry is terrific. I've seen really pretty and creative work by other techs there, too. First time here The nail lady, who did my nails did a wonderful job. She was efficient. I went in for a fill and I asked her for design on two nails with pearls and she nailed it. It's exactly what I wanted and they do Hard gel which was nice most salons don't. I personally loved it. Long story short when I was time to pay, I asked how much. She said $85. I said cool I asked how much for the fill she said $60 and how much for the two nails she added pearl design she said it ranges from $5-15. I looked at her and said ok. I am a first time customer why would you tell me it is $85 when the fill is 60 and the range for the design is 5 to 15 even if you charged me the max for only two nails it would be $75. I mean it was only $10. But they have the owner tried to cheat a new customer. They really hurt me so that's why from a five star I brought it down to A 3 star. read more

The tools are clean, and arrive packaged and sanitized, which I appreciate. The quality of the service was high, and so are prices: pedicure is $5 more than the local price ($45 vs. $40) and mani/pedi combo is $10 more for the service, ($70 vs. $60.) They have many color choices but polish is limited to a single brand (Daisy dnd) that I'm not familiar with. It's non toxic, but wish they had a few more non-toxic organic brands. However, I saw some people doing walk ins the same day & they only waited about 20 minutes or less. The salon is very clean & they use new sterilized tools per client. For four years, I have been a Holly addict. Throughout, I may have gotten my acrylics filled out of town while on vacation or some other logistical need, but each time they reinforce that no one has perfected the art of acrylic nails quite like Holly.
