Great place to train. Great facilities and knowledgeable instructors who don't just cater to kids. As a years-long practitioner of martial arts, I can say that this place is challenging and great. This is no black belt factory; it's real martial arts. Highly recommend. read more

We started at local belt-mill (ATA) and quickly realized our mistake, but contrary to a reply to my direct question about my ability to terminate a contract before signing it, ATA refused to do so. FYI, ATA uses deceptive sales practices and will tell you that you can quit any time, what they don't mention is that you have to move! After a good friend heard my story and recommended Impact I visited and was immediately impressed by what I saw. Instead of a bunch of little kids with advanced belts sitting around a candle meditating (ATA), I saw kids running, exercising, fighting, "YES SIR" responses expected, and my son was immediately excited about what he saw. It just so happened while I was there an original founder of the school happened to be present. When I told my story about ATA and still having almost 6 months to go on their contract that they refused to terminate, he suggested to the man currently running the school they allow my son to attend free for 6 months! Needless to say we took them up on their offer and some 9 years later are still there, need I say more! read more

Impact Martial Arts is a great example of a family-oriented business that seems dedicated to preparing those whom they serve. The instructors are knowledgeable and patient, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. This is not a place to simply pay for belts; it is a place where you earn your mastery, and for that, I appreciate their integrity and dedication. read more

The community that has been built at Unity is wonderful. It is such a positive environment for children and many of the kids that started as young children and trained through their teenage years are wonderful young adults by the time they graduate from high school and go on to be successful adults. There is some great character development that goes on in the dojo for these young people. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place for your child to train or even yourself.

I…read morehave a personal rule: I only count a national park as "visited" if I actually spend time there, hike or walk through it, and experience it beyond simply driving by. Hot Springs National Park was one of the most unique parks on our journey because it is unlike any other national park we have visited. Rather than protecting vast wilderness, this park preserves the history and natural thermal springs that gave birth to the city of Hot Springs. For centuries, people believed the mineral-rich waters had healing properties, and during the late 1800s and early 1900s, the area became one of America's premier spa destinations. The beautifully preserved Bathhouse Row is a reminder of that era, with historic buildings that still define the character of the park today. The park itself blends seamlessly into the city, making it feel less like a traditional national park and more like a living historic district. Personally, I see it as being closer to a national monument than the expansive wilderness parks most people picture when they think of the National Park System. But that doesn't diminish its value, it is simply a very different experience. I spent quite a bit of time hiking the surrounding trails, which were peaceful, scenic, and offered beautiful views over the town and the Ouachita Mountains. It was a pleasant surprise to discover how much nature surrounds the historic district once you begin climbing into the hills. The town itself is charming, full of history, unique architecture, good restaurants, and an easy pace that invites you to slow down. Between exploring the bathhouses, learning about the fascinating history of hydrotherapy in America, and enjoying the trails, we found there was plenty to fill a full day. Overall, Hot Springs National Park is beautiful in its own way. It may not offer towering mountains or dramatic wilderness, but it preserves an important chapter of American history while still providing opportunities to enjoy nature. It is certainly worth visiting with an open mind and an appreciation for both history and the outdoors.

My child started Impact just as he turned 4. He lacked discipline and was aggressive at school. Mr. Nicholas told me that with the proper training and the Life Skills guidance that I would see a vast improvement over time. Two years later, my son understands consequences of his actions and he holds him self accountable. He has a physical activity that allows him to shine as an individual while learning to support his fellow TKD classmates. The instructors have been more than the run-of-the-mill TKD factories, they know the students and their families as individuals and help in any way that they can to bring out the best in their students. The confidence, the accountability, the confidence, the support and the physical activity are priceless and can't be found anywhere else in Central Arkansas. read more
