The negative reviews are sad to say the least, I did the training 26 years ago, I have had my ups, and I have had my downs but I can honestly say in 26 years I have found what they teach to be liberating, deep and very insightful. Worth every penny and I would do it again. Ignore the bad reviews, no program will ever have 100% positive especially not one like this. I will say this I have been in their trainings and they have people who refuse to do the work needed to breakthrough. These are more than likely the same people the negatively review it. read more

First of all most of these negative comments come from people who left the first day. Yes the first day is the toughest because the trainers make sure that you confront yourself. If you are too proud to break the old to build the new than you are not completely ready for a change in your life and I'm not talking about impact but about self improvement in general. As for the money, I traveled all the way from Africa and went through three of impact trainings without spending a dollar thanks to all of the great people who sponsored my trainings because they believed in me. My mom was one of those people who made herself sick physically because she mentally believed that that's what she deserved. After I saw my mom leave with a neck brace and come back without one I knew that it was something I wanted to try. My mom left my dad after 22 years of being in a toxic relationship to find herself and I am proud of how she finally chose her life instead of settling for it. Impact has its own methods but teaches you tools to be able to take on life with a higher knowledge of yourself and what you are capable of creating. I have seen these tools be taught in ted talks and other great self love and self improvement research. How these tools are used depends on who is using it and for what purpose and its not the responsibility of the person showing them the tools but of the person using the tools. After impact I have been able to take advantage of so many opportunities that have brought me to a great place in life. With the mindset I had before impact, I wouldn't have taken those opportunities because I didn't think myself worthy of them. I went through Impact over 10 years ago now, and the positive things I got from that experience are still benefiting me in my life today. I have made life long friends there because of the caliber of people Impact attracts and the relationship skills that are taught there. In fact, I have told many people over the years that Impact saved my marriage. When I did my training there, I was recently remarried, and the stress of my new wife struggling with my ex-wife and my daughter from that previous marriage was pushing our marriage over the edge. After my wife and I completed our core trainings (Quest, Summit and LiftOff), we did the Couples Training together and it really taught us how to love and accept each other as we are, and how to truly work together so that we became better partners, friends and parents. We have been married for over 15 years now, and we credit Impact for teaching us how to not only stick together but make our marriage a refuge for each other. The communication tools we learned at Impact are by themselves worth the admission price, but we learned so much more than that. So so so grateful I found Impact!!!!! It has changed my life and opened up my heart. I feel like I feel like I have been reborn! I remember telling a friend of mine about some difficulties I was having in my life just before I started doing the Impact Trainings. The fear, sadness, frustration, loneliness. I felt stuck and dead emotionally and spiritually. I felt lost and powerless. I had no idea what to do. I didn't love myself or trust myself. I paid in total $2,415 for the core trainings, Quest, Summit & Lift Off. I was able to attend "Quest" & "Summit" trainings, in which I made a new positive relationship with myself as well as others. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, Lift Off trainings were cancelled, they attempted to reschedule, but made no such success. I had reached out to Impact Staff to receive a refund for the training, Lift Off, I had paid for in full, in which was no longer available to me. I had explained my personal concerns, and my struggling financial situation, as well as my willingness to again pay for the training "Lift Off" in the future. Sadly my efforts were not only strongly ignored, but very much so dismissed. I had my Dad reach out on behalf of myself, he explained that he had sent many, many referrals to them ($$$$$) & Impact should make a small exception under the circumstances. He was passed around, mislead & also ignored. He was specifically told that he would be able to connect with the "CEO" Dave Weinberger, to see if he would make an "exception". Dave made no such time or efforts on behalf of his business. It is very shocking to me, someone in a position of leadership & power, shows zero concern or consideration for their client. Impact Trainings treats you as if you were god sent with utmost respect as long as you are throwing money their way, (Thousands) otherwise through their customer service, they are very negligent & unwilling to hear their paying customers needs, especially under very unique circumstances. Having work experience in customer service myself, it is vitally important to maintain relationships with clients & customers long after you have received payment for service. That is not the way Impact Training runs their business. It is only about money, not customer relationships. Through my experience with Impact Trainings, spending nearly $2,500, it would be an unkindness recommending this service to anyone, based specifically on their customer service. read more

I went through all of the trainings, paid so much money. I won't say that I got nothing from it, but I was definitely tricked into thinking that I was getting much more than I did. They use emotional tricks in conjunction with peer pressure from people who have bought in and are paying $1000s in order to recruit new people. They then use all sorts of manipulations to keep people going and paying to one training after another, as well as join in on the recruiting process. I'm sure I can't keep people from going on the first place, but maybe I can help some people get out before paying all their money. 1. Making you feel as less than if you don't continue (telling you you're blocked, or you don't have enough belief that you can find the money, etc). 2. Love bombing (surrounding you with strangers who instantly show you love, this feeds into our insecurities to make us feel connected). 3. Recruiting initiates to do recruiting (as part of the courses, your asked to help with a certain number of the free Wednesday courses, often encouraged to invite others, etc.) 4. "Leaving is worse than never starting" (they tell stories of people who didn't continue and everything got worse or whatever else, making it seem like finishing is the only way to be happy.) 5. Keep their process secret (this does a couple things, one makes you feel special for completing it, but also keeps people from making an informed decision) 6. Telling you that those critical of the group are just uninspired, or hurt or whatever else. (This is a tactic to get people to only listen to the positive, and ignore the negative) 7. Constantly trying to keep you involved (this controls your time and relationships, leaving you little time to do any critical thinking about the group, and only feeling the hyped up feelings). 8. Hyped up meetings (meetings that leave you feeling super hyped, which isn't a problem in itself, but they use those as a tool to make you think you're getting something else, but there is really little else). And more. I can't list them all, but these are the major manipulations they use to try to get you to spend a lot of your money with them. Just go to therapy instead. read more

The meaner the responses, the more they were praised by the trainer and volunteers. Most participants were sobbing uncontrollably by the end of the exercise. On the first day, one man opened up about how his brother had committed suicide and how depressed he was about it. The trainer responded: "Of course your brother committed suicide with a brother like you." This was typical of the trainer's responses to people who opened up on the first day. At another point people were required to walk around and tell their deepest secret to random people in the room. These confessions included secret abortions, drug addictions, sexual abuse & confessions of committing sexual abuse, etc. These kind of activities served to break participants down so they are open to implementing Impact's life philosophy. This life philosophy includes an encouraged and discouraged vocabulary, a selfish world view ("You deserve everything you want"), and a new age type spirituality. I went in expecting a self improvement seminar, and came home depressed and feeling almost brainwashed. It took me months to recover, and certain experiences I had there still haunt me to this day. From watching several people in my family go through their trainings, at best you will spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to learn how a twisted version of new age spirituality and a selfish world view, at worst, I saw people's marriages fall apart, deep depression, job loss, etc. I would never recommend this place to anyone, it's like playing russian roulette with your mind. read more

This center is a scam. They tell you that the amount of money (over $2,000 for the first three) is to prove your investment. Most who work there are volunteers. No one there is qualified in psychology or therapy of any kind but the ones running it make a lot of money off of the suckers that buy into it. read more

Impact professes to provide trainings that will change your life. They will change your life, but not for the better. The trainers hold no professional licenses and yet operate in the realm of psychological practice. They pull modules from a hodge podge of different areas such as psychology, philosophy, meditative practices, new age philosophy, etc. and claim they have the upper hand on "fixing" your life. If you are ready to try a quick fix that will not yield long term results, then go for it, but be prepared to lose many friends, to be coaxed into becoming their recruiters, and to be pushed to staff their trainings all while paying hundreds to thousands of dollars to continue your own "journey". read more

This is a inspirational/motivational training that is geared around assisting individuals to handle their emotional baggage and have a reinvigorated outlook for life. It is divided into three sections: Quest, Summit, and Lift-Off. The first two levels are intensive, all-day trainings that go from Wednesday through Saturday. The third level is comprised of four and sometimes five weekend trainings (Friday through Saturday) that are designed to assist graduates of the first two levels to integrate the training more fully into their lives. During the third level of the training, trainees have weekly phone calls with a Life Coach to check-in on how they're doing, and receive specific challenges to improve their life. After completing the first three levels, which costs upwards of $2000, trainees are considered graduates of the Impact Training, and are eligible to participate in a variety of new ways at the training center. They can enroll in Mastery Level trainings that include a men's training, women's training, couple's training, and a series of trainings known as Trainer-In-Training. The latter are not--as they sound--designed to turn graduates into trainers, but rather, to equip graduates with the 'tools' that the much-revered Impact trainers use in their lives. Additionally, graduates of the Impact Training can volunteer their time to be on the 'staffs' of new training groups. In this capacity, they support the daily mechanics of the training, and facilitate a smooth experience for new trainees. Impact places a heavy emphasis on spirituality. Though it is non-denominational and does not integrate religious belief or dogma into the training curicculum, the majority of the trainees are LDS, and most of the Impact trainers and office staff either have or have had some affiliation with the church. ***** There are countless rumors about Impact around Salt Lake, most of them involving the idea that Impact is some sort of cult. Having been an active graduate from 2000 to 2005, I can attest that while I was involved with Impact, it was not a cult, but rather, a business. Because the experiences in the training tend to leave people with a feeling of being emotionally and spiritually reborn, many graduates tend to development a sort of hero worship for the Impact trainers. The trainers are human, of course, and this idolatry can easily lead to an inflated sense of self-importance. My intense involvement in the personal lives of the trainers left me feeling jaded in the time shortly before I left Impact because I had seen all too well the fallibility that can be present in great leaders. I would also like to briefly discuss the Trainer-In-Training (TIT) program again. This program, which cost an additional $3200 at the time I did it in 2001, is considerably different in its teachings than the lower levels of the training. While the lower levels of the training emphasize the importance of having tangible, measureable results in your life, the TIT program is considerably more dogmatic. There are many beliefs of Eastern philosophy that are taught in the first level, and by the third level of TIT (the highest level), the training is rife with unusual, New Age-y beliefs and discussions about God, Archangels, and a group of enlightened individuals known as Ascended Masters. Last I heard, the Impact trainers are selling a special, 'powerful' healing water to individuals in TIT 3. To me, that sounds a bit cult-y, but, if I know the trainers as well as I do, then when it all comes down to it, Impact is as I said before: not a cult, but a business. Selling healing water brings in the dough, and since TIT 3 is the only training at Impact that does NOT have a tuition, it makes sense for them to fabricate some sort of income from this large body of faithful followers. In both the lower AND upper levels of the Impact Training, some individuals will choose to leave because of personal differences with other trainees, office staff members, and even the trainers. The first two levels of the training, Quest and Summit, are done in a militaristic, somewhat drill sergeant style, and, if people choose to leave at any point during these trainings, they may have an inordinately (and misplaced) negative opinion of the training. The Impact Training has profoundly affected my life for the better, and improved my relationship with my partner and family beyond belief. However, my involvement in the TIT program left me feeling disillusioned. I had placed so much trust in the trainers that I blindly believed the new dogma they offered in TIT, and it was only years later that I realized what a fool I'd been. Do Impact! Do Quest, Summit, and Lift-Off! Commit to doing all three. And don't do TIT. Just go live the training. That's enough. read more

I participated in the training over 20 years ago. At the time, my life was pretty together. I was in my mid 20s, had a great career, and a wonderful life. I was introduced to the training center by a close friend of mine, who recently graduated. The excitement and enthusiasm she had for what she discovered about herself was remarkable, something I knew I wanted to experience. I enrolled in the very next seminar, and 20 years later I have to say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. In the years that followed my training, I changed many things about my life. I decided to go back to school, pursue some advanced degrees, and change to a completely new industry. My relationships are much deeper, I have more passion for life, and I pursue my goals with excitement. I know much of this is a direct result of having participated in impact trainings. Today I can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and yes the results do last for a very long time. I can honestly say that I am still using the tools 20 years later. Impact is much more than personal growth training. It's a support group for successful people, a place where people can learn and grow to have more in life. This year I celebrate my 26th year anniversary of going through the Impact Trainings. I am thrilled to share my experience of the training, and the continuation of benefits I have received because of my training and involvement. I learned what was getting in the way of truly having a great life. Some of these things getting in the way were how I showed up in relationships, and how I treated myself poorly. I learned to love myself and have chosen to live my life in Joy. In the training I recognized the importance of my contribution in this world and what I can do to make a difference. In the 26 years since my training I have truly found the value of this training over and over. I have learned the value of service, love, and passion for life. One way I have been able to keep using the tools I found during training is being in service. Continuing to go to Impact Trainings through the years supporting others who have chosen to attend the trainings has been an awesome way for me to be in service, and also continue my own life training. Impact. Whoa. What an interesting experience to have had. It is different, abit strange at times, a little cult like feeling at times, but it really does work and it really opens you up. I've had a few profound experiences in my life, I'd say Impact is one of the top 10. I'd recommend the experience to just about anyone. I'd tell them to go in with an open mind and realize that not everything they do there is going to connect with you immediately, though keep an open mind and don't close yourself off from the process no matter how ridiculous it may seem at the time. read more

I have been through 4 different levels of Impact Training over the last 2 years. I have made some amazing friends through the self journey that I embarked on. I have to admit I was scared at first thinking 'what am I getting into?" This is the deal. If you feel that your life needs an overhaul=Impact Training will get you back on track. This is not for the faint of heart. If you are generally a right minded individual (the 'thinker') or a devout religious group member, you may find it offensive. I found these TRAININGS are really for training. Training means going above and beyond what you have been doing your whole life with the tools offered and how it can IMPACT your life in a positive, loving and giving way. There are many exercises that enable those whom have never had a voice, who feel insignificant and who do not know who they are. Impact Training for me was a surreal, passionate experience that enabled me to be the person I was meant to be - one that is more conscious, caring and patient. I would highly recommend these trainings for those who want to experience a different outlook in their lives and try something different, daring and well, insightful to say the least. This is NOT a cult. The door is always open for anyone to leave or never come back. There is no forcing anyone to anything, including paying the initial 500 bucks for the Quest. All in all, I love Impact but the reason I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars is because the dates for my trainings kept me coming back and forth from my state to Utah. Spent lots of $$ to travel (!) I didn't learn anything NEW at the Impact Trainings because I learned something more valuable. I learned who the original, authentic me is and was from the beginning. I grew up thinking "well only if I become this, or that or make a certain amount of money will I be good enough". I learned that just me, in my simplest form is a powerful, honest, kind and loving person and that's more than enough for me to be happy. Since the trainings I have healed multiple relationships in my life including me and my father's who haven't stood face to fact in 11 years. I don't have to force myself to be around my own family anymore (whom I couldn't stand before), in fact I love being there for them now as some one they can talk to and count on to give a unique perspective. Lastly, I have found my soul's purpose to become a motivational speaker and I am in the middle of writing 2 books and are planning on a 3rd. Impact trainings is the best investment I ever made in myself. It wasn't an instant cure all but by far surpassed anything else I had tried in self healing and acceptance. It is an experiential training and because of this every person who goes gets something different out of it. It's not a seminar where you sit and listen to speakers and everyone learns the same thing. I overcame fears, triggers, and obstacles that were in my way of my dreams. I learned my purpose in life and who I truly am without my job, status, race or any other label defining me. I learned who and what the potential of soul was and the value of it is. I removed walls and mind blocks from my path and learned that I am my own creator of my life. It was empowering and I couldn't put a price on what I gained but I will say that knowing what I know now no price would stop me from getting my butt in that seat to start my impact journey.
