Incredibly unprofessional. Just wow. I've been a freelance model for 5 years, but at 5'6", I've never bothered with agencies. I stumbled across this agency's website by chance, and I noticed that they represented a lot of models who were 5'6" or even shorter! I was so excited, I sent out an email with my vitals and photos, then patiently waited for a response. Ten days later, I received the following: "Cassandra, We do not represent models who are under 5"8". Our best to you, Johnna" I'm a pro at handling rejection, but I do not like being lied to. I double-checked the website to ensure that they were, in fact, still representing shorter models (they are; Yayoi, a 5'3" woman, is on their front page under the MODELS category). Confused, but assuming that perhaps they had changed their policies or were over-saturated with shorter models, I wrote back: "Johnna, I understand. I was misdirected when I saw the multitude of female models listed as under 5'8" on your website. Cassandra" Just over an hour later, I got this lovely response: "Oh, wow! What a comment. There are various reasons they are there, most are actresses too." Now, maybe I'm taking this the wrong way, but that just seems downright bitchy. If they didn't like my look, they should just say I'm not what they're looking for. Do not lie to me, then sass me when I politely confirm your email. Awful. read more

As a model and actress, I waited a year and a half to get an interview with TMG since they were not taking new talents for a while. To wait was the best decision I ever made. TMG is one of the best agencies of the state and one of the few that doesn't take advantage of talents for selling training and photoshoots. Yeah, so it seems lots of people get butthurt over being rejected from an agency, and the previous poster is no exception. HER comment was snide and unprofessional, but the agency's explanation (which they are not required to give, in case anyone else isn't familiar with REAL agencies) was perfetly fine. In fact, they may have been trying to let her down easy. Who knows? What an insecure tool that girl is. No place for you in a tough business like modeling, sugar. I've lived in L.A. with my wife for 15 years she's a pretty successful commercial actress. TMG is pretty much the ONLY agency in Utah with a level of professionalism that rivals that of L.A. Don't believe every pissed-off wanna-be on the Internet. You'll waste ALOT of time. BTW: "freelance model" means unsuccessful and without credits.
