I like to add Cappuccino to the top instead of the creamer, but a lot of the time the machine just pours out water and ruins my coffee. They are always out of something I need. Whether it is creamer, sugar, lids or straws. Not the cleanest store around. I even called ahead to make sure that the Cappuccino machine was working.. and when I got there it was not. If you want good coffee, visit the Mapco down the street on Brooks Rd.

The store clerk was cool. This is a very busy location so be careful in the parking lot. Lots of extra parking available, so that is a plus. Subway is on site and was very popular during our visit. I was surprised to see this little fruit and vegetable stand in the Valero's parking lot. I thought how nice that Valero would give these men a chance to sell their produce. It was so hot this day. It felt like it was around 100 degrees. Yet here they were, withstanding the heat, to make some money. They were selling green tomatoes, red tomatoes, peaches, and different kinds of watermelon. I decided to purchase a sugar baby. That's the dark green watermelon that's suppose to be sweeter. I also purchased a bowl of green tomatoes (which are so hard to come by in the stores. I plan to fry them) and a bowl of red tomatoes (which I will use in a kale salad, or eat them sprinkled with a little salt and pepper). The bowls were $5.00 a piece. Honestly, I'm just so happy to find homegrown tomatoes. Hopefully they will have more flavor than the usual tomatoes for sale in all the supermarkets. The watermelons were going for $10.00. Every chance I get I will purchase from these guys because I love supporting small farmers and entrepreneurial African Americans.

I got a Philly Cheese Steak today and I must say. I was very impressed. It was fresh and had a very good flavor. I also got some JoJo's or baby potato logs. Those were also fresh. I had stopped to get gas and I noticed next to the register up front that they sold hot food. There were several people standing there waiting to place their order when the cook, a tall, slender white male, walked out of the restroom and he had his jacket sleeves pulled up which showed extremely long dark hair covering both his arms and he grabbed his crotch as if to adjust himself in front of everyone. He then whipped out his cellphone and with his bare hands started to take and prepare orders. He made no attempt to put on gloves and was alternating the cellphone between his hands while grasping the food with his bare hands. He did not use tongs. He looked disheveled as if he had not bathed or slept in a while. To make matters worse, I looked at his arms and he had open boils on both of them which was totally gross. I don't blame several of the patrons for walking out. This is the second time I've seen nasty sh*t like this at a food establishment in Memphis. This is also why I don't order food prepared at 'gas stations'. Just Yuck!!!!

If you took away the "Amoco" sign and put something like "Bob's" on top- you could film the next remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre right inside this place. Ugh! This place is disgusting inside. I had to take a shower when I got home. The convenience store food items that are on the shelves are covered in layers upon layers of dust and they actually had these burnt shriveled up hash brown potatoes and wings inside a case you could order. Who would eat them?! I will say the dude behind the counter has always been nice (yes I have been forced against my will to go in here 3 times now- I've since put a ban on it). In fact, he is so nice he gives the place an extra star. But please, I urge you, stay away from here.
