The owners pour their heart and soul into every aspect of the bar including the programming, music, and atmosphere, and it really shows. The bartenders are warm, welcoming, and genuinely seem to love what they do. From drag shows and burlesque performances to seasonal drink specials, themed parties, and go-go shows, there's always something happening. Troupe quickly became my go-to spot after discovering it one week into living in CT and I'm so grateful for its existence. While the bartender was closing out my tab, there was apparently a glitch with the system. Before the bartender even had a chance to re run my card let alone explain what was happening, the doorman came running over to me about my card issue and was looking directly over her shoulder at my card transaction/tab information from behind the bar. I genuinely don't understand why a doorman would have such easy access to customers payment information or tabs in the first place!!! Seeing someone who isn't handling my transaction looking over the bartender's shoulder at my card made me extremely uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about privacy and security. I've been a regular customer, which is why this was especially disappointing. I came in expecting to have a couple of beers and a relaxing Tuesday night, and instead left questioning how securely my payment information is being handled.
