Really cool vibe. Not as crowded as I thought it would be. Dance vibes and good music but not so many people dancing. Unfortunately it's so loud so you shouldn't come here to had a conversation.

I hosted a valentines/birthday party here over the weekend and I have to say it was absolutely perfect! Between the romantic and moody aesthetic and the friendly staff who were beyond helpful and accommodating throughout the process, I couldn't be any happier! I was planning my event for around 4 months and the Madamme X team truly made my dreams come true! I would recommend hosting here for any party or event if you're looking for a cool and fun location with great staff and affordable party packages!!

Attended a private function at Madame X's (upper level). As I deliberately don't do stoosh/stush well, I left those "wannabes" and made my way downstairs to the general floor and THAT'S when things started making sense to me. Haha. Madame X isn't unusual to neighbouring spots but the patrons in attendance that night made it seem like it was the only spot on that stretch. We really had a good time! Music is super eclectic from Jamaica, Rio to Spain, Goa you name it they played it. We kept time with each challenge their DJ presented. There's a super chill back area and though it's outdoors and with the winter wind still in the air it didn't bother me because I was kept warm by the strategically placed heaters. My cheap arse 'droid doesn't do well in dark spots so I was unable to do justice to their beautiful and provocative artwork. Hell yeah I'd be back if the opportunity presented itself! The End.

Stopped by here for happy hour (which goes until 9!?), And so glad we did! The bartender, Allie, was friendly and served us up quick drinks. We had dinner reservations around the corner or else we would've stayed for another round. The decor was fun too. Looked like they have music (DJ) on the weekends, so will stop by some time to check that out too.

Madame X's design and ambiance reminds me of a red light district whore house in Amsterdam. That's exactly what we were going for to celebrate my friend's last weekend as a bachelorette! I researched lounges in the area with sultry and sexy vibes to celebrate the occasion and all yelp roads led me to Madame X. We fell in love with the design of this place. Ultra plush vintage sofas, lamps, drapes.... and Village-Esque low key vibes. We booked a reservation for a table so that we could relax our tired feet after dancing. We arrived a little after our reservation time and the woman I spoke to was very kind and accommodating. We collectively split the table rental of $100. We arrived and the bouncer was very attractive and kind. We met with Kaina the bartender who led us to our table. Our couch was a little sunken so we switched to the crush velvet red vintage one. The art work here was super cool and sexy. Loved it. There was also a backyard patio garden. The DJ was great! I felt that he played a nice collection of 90's classics. My friend knew all the lyrics and it was like a blast back to our college days ! We enjoyed that. There was no dance floor so that kinda sucked but we knew it was a lounge and made use of the space around our couch. The only things this place is missing is more straight bachelors and a dance floor.

Do you guys ever have swinger events here?

Hi Danny - Well, we have occasionally hosted events put together by groups who host swinger events. So, for the purpose of meeting, not swinging. One of the hosts called it "Take out, not eat in." We haven't hosted one in awhile, and it's invitation…

Can I wear a see-thru/mesh top as a girl? (nipples visible)

We historically do ask to have nipples covered for performers and other guests; however, under NYC law we welcome all guests to dress as they are comfortable and celebrate individual style and their right to free the nipple. (Keeping in mind…

Is the place trans cd friendly?

We are welcoming to all, especially all who are welcoming.

Is this bar open to everyone?

Hi, Zarie! Thank you so much for asking! Yes! Madame X is a bar and lounge located at 94 W Houston…

Can guys wear mesh semi see thru shirts for a party on a Friday night?

They certainly can! Whether they *should* is another question 😁. Joking aside, as long as you're wearing shoes and the important bits are covered, you're probably fine.

Hello, Is weed allowed to be smoked inside or outside?

We have a cute little garden in the back (heated in winter), and as long as doesn't get too Cheech and Chong out there, we don't ask what you're smoking.

Hola estoy buscando la experiencia swinger aya es lugar de mucha locura y sexo?

No, es sólo un bar normal.

What is ehookah? Thinking of stopping by with 3 other friends on feb4. Do you guys have anything going on that day?

Hi Nancy! So sorry for the delay. Sunday is a very lounge-y day at Madame X, so it's great for chilling with friends. Heads up we have Happy Hour prices till 9!…

Hello, since your place is also a Hookah Bar, can one also smoke a cigar in your place, or at least in your garden area. Do we need to make reservation if we are only two people? Thank you for your kind reply.

Hi Roberto! We're not specifically a Hookah bar, but we do provide eHookah on request. And as we do have a nice little outdoor area, we don't mind cigars there at all. You don't need reservations for two (our minimum is around 8 people for a table…

Do I understand that you are closed for renovations between now and Feb 3, 2023 ? Visiting NYC in a cpl of months. Was so looking forward to visiting your bar

Oh no! That was last year. I have to figure out a way to remove that info... Sorry! We're now open Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 6 p.m.

    What days is this open?

We finally opened back up last week, but we're not a swingers club. We're a very sexy bar in which I'm sure an occasional swing happens. Just not on purpose on our part.

Is there an admission fee this friday?

Hi Melanie - There is typically a $5 cover after 10 p.m. However, if you check in with Yelp we…

Hi! what is the age requirement to enter Madame X?

    21+

What days/nights are the burlesque shows?

Look up Siren Pack Productions and you'll find the dates, or check out our calendar at www.madamex.com. The next event is on September 26th. I hope you can make it!

Is reggaeton the primary genre of music played on Saturday?

No, it's a big mix of music as our crowd is pretty diverse. So you might hear reggaeton, but it would be a small part of a larger mix.

I am planning to celebrate with a bridal party on a Saturday night. What is the selection of music like and DJ's?

Hi Marissa - It'll depend a little on the night you're coming, but the music is typically a bit of a mix as our crowd is quite diverse. You'll hear the typical bar music - Hip Hop, Top 40, Pop... But likely also 80s, 90s, Old School, Reggae, Salsa,…

What type of music do you guys play on Saturday nights?

Hi! We play a big mix as our crowd is pretty diverse. The typical hip hop, Top 40, pop, but also 90s, sometimes House, reggae, RnB, Old School. And the DJ wil throw on requests as well, so you never know!

What kind of music is played on Friday night?

It's usually top 100 billboard. The DJ is really good. He plays music for everyone and keeps the vibe going all night

Can u be 18 and up?

    21&up

How's the music on a Saturday night & is this a good spot to a host a birthday?

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

It's better than it needs to be, which in this neighborhood counts for a lot. The room is the star. Brass, smoked mirrors, marble, wallpaper with burlesque dancers, very Gatsby cosplay but done with actual money. Think the Campbell at Grand Central, minus the $28 martini attitude. It's also LOUD downstairs. Ask for upstairs if you want to hear your date. Gin is the program here and they take it seriously, house-infused bottles paired with specific tonics, not an afterthought. My G&T was legitimately well built. Food from chef JC Colón is better than cocktail-bar standard: truffle fries in duck fat are worth it, the lobster mac at $31 is rich and fine but you've had it before. Skip dessert. The steak frites at $48 is where I'd tap out, that's real-restaurant money for bar food execution. Here's the move though: weekday happy hour, 4 to 7. Dollar oysters and $13 cocktails in a room this pretty is one of the best deals in Midtown, full stop. Service was warm and fast even slammed. Not a destination, but if you're near Bryant Park or seeing a show, this beats everything else within five blocks. Book ahead, walk-ins were getting turned away by 5:30.

The bi-level bar and lounge was dark, swanky, and seductive. It would make an excellent spot for dates or groups of friends, like mine. We started off sitting at the bar, as there were no large tables available upon our arrival. However, after about 15 minutes, the host approached to tell us that he could actually seat us. I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.
