I know records…read moreare dead (long live records), but these are only 50 cents, and sitting on the first stack of records was a copy of Orff's Carmina Burana by some big choir director I can't remember, but it was a big name, and I thought, "what else might I find?" I found a bunch of other stuff, and I can't disclose, because it would give away how cool everything is. This is a store, so to speak, run by the University of Missouri libraries, where duplicate records and VHS and CDs are sold. I was told by the helpful staffperson that about 10 seconds after the advent of CDs, the university radio station chose to sell all their vinyl, and the university library bought them all up. So now they sell off the duplicates and keep the rest for posterity. And you, the state taxpayer (or out of state visitor), benefits. I think 50 cents is a deal, and all the records I got were very well kept. Some didn't have a interior record sleeve, but they all showed very little wear and tear. Most of it is classical, but there is about half which is not. Of course you won't find the latest Radiohead album here, but if you're looking for something that a university radio station might play back in the days of records (Dave Brubeck?), then there's a good chance it's around.
