12/6/2021 Update: I received a call from Cheryl this morning. I also corresponded with her during the weekend about the unfortunate event. I am updating the review, because of the misunderstanding that they also contract with Honors Home Health ..who provides the staffing. Cheryl will go above and beyond when situations happen, and I felt bad because she works hard and does a great job with setting up her clients. Our unfortunate incident, hopefully will help any future families to not have to go through with what happened to us. It doesn't solve our problem, and now I will have to start the process all over again. 12/4/2021 I really, really wanted this to work out.. My two son's needed some caregiver relief, and was really counting on the care... Unfortunately, we set up a schedule for coverage, of Friday-Sunday... The previous weekend of Saturday and Sunday was covered... (they couldn't find anyone for Friday's shift) ... Yesterday, received a text an hour before the shift saying the caregiver would not be coming... Ughhhhhh...so my son's had to rearrange their schedule to come back and watch their dad who has brain cancer-GBM... We questioned if we were going to have coverage for today, and they said they were working on it. Later in the evening, received a text that we do have coverage.. My oldest had plans to travel to the Bay Area for a birthday celebration, while the youngest was scheduled to work.. An hour before we received another text saying no caregiver!!.... I cancelled the contract as of today, and now my son's are changing their plans again because of this mishap... Cheryl was great in helping us with the intake papers, and also mentioned that if we committed, we would have a better chance of getting the same caregiver.. Of course there is a shortage of workers, but still this does not help us with our situation. corre read more

Alan with Indecare is a great support for end life care. My father was on hospice when we needed more in home help. Alan came out, made an assessment and arranged to have help come. Unfortunately my father passed away the day before the caregiver came. A few months later, I contacted Alan again for information on assisted living and residential care homes. He spent 2 days with me touring different care facilities here in Sacramento, and also gave me a referral to another agency in the Bay Area in case I wanted to move my mother closer to my home. Indecare was there for our family during an extremely stressful time. My dad was being released from a skilled nursing facility within a week and he needed a lot of care as he was nonambulatory due to a stroke. Cheryl quickly scheduled a care consult and visited him in his facility. She conferred with the physical therapists to determine his needs. My experience with Indecare was wonderful! Karen & Alan made an assessment visit to my mother's home with me present. They were caring and concerned about the type of care my mother would need. I'm a nurse and found their assessment to be very thorough. Unfortunately, my mother became ill and was hospitalized after just one caregiver visit, but I continued to use their services while I cared for my mom when she was on Hospice Care. I was able to meet every caregiver and found them all to be very professional and pleasant, they helped me with whatever care I needed that day, even if it was just to keep an eye on my mom while she slept so that I could run errands or rest. Since the type of care for my mom varied from day to day, they were very helpful with scheduling visits until my mom passed away. After my mom passed away, Alan sent me a gorgeous flower arrangement along with a very thoughtful and caring email. I highly recommend Indecare for your loved ones, having a caregiver with me during my mom's final days was very comforting and I'm grateful to have had them with me during this difficult time. read more

An addendum to my first review: What I did not anticipate from Cheryl at Inde-Care was that she took on the role of advocate for our family. So, not only did she do the research for appropriate placement of our mom, but she contacted the facilities to answer questions about details we wondered about to help us decide which facility would be a good fit. My mother is at the age of full-time attention. Since we are grown adults as her children, we wish we could be there for her at all times but it doesn't seem possible. We had a fantastic experience with Indecare! I was initially skeptical about going through the process, especially as it pertained to finding an assisted living facility for my father. My children and I have been caring for my elderly parents going on five years now and with their increasing needs it had just become too much for us. My daughter interviewed several companies and found Indecare to be the most straightforward, knowledgable and caring business. We started with in-home care and worked with Cheryl M. to facilitate this care. She was always available via text or phone to answer any questions we had. When we decided we needed to look at memory care options, Cheryl was indispensable. She listened to our needs and concerns, she suggested facilities based on our needs, and went with us to visit each, often asking questions we hadn't even thought to ask! After each visit she did a quick debrief which she then used to suggest new facilities for us to visit. She also advocated for us with the facilities when we narrowed down our choices. We visited around 8 facilities and she never complained! She really listens to what your concerns and wishes are for your loved ones and turns that into an action plan for you, but she never pushes you and waits until you are ready. For us, this was a five month process and she was with us the entire time, giving us the support and resources we needed for each step of the way. Cheryl has a wealth of experience and knowledge and can explain the world of dementia, dementia care and resources in a way that is caring, understandable and reassuring. She is always clear, helpful and respectful of our decisions and family dynamics. There were many times when I reached out to Cheryl full of doubt and concerns about this difficult decision. Cheryl was unfailingly encouraging and supportive, and always managed to calm my anxieties and provide practical solutions. I can say without a doubt that we could not have gone through this process without Cheryl. She is truly a gift! They do not return calls. Bill for hours when no one is there. If your loved one needs to go to the hospital you will pay for that day and other scheduled days unless you can give them notice. But there is no way to no when someone will be released from the hospital. Exorbitant "equipment service fees" ? added on. In the summer of 2019, I needed some relief from 24/7 care of my husband. I called Indecare. Cheryl came to our home within a day or two, fitting into my schedule. She gave a thorough explanation and history of the company, also explaining their connection to Honor, the company who works with them. She was also very upfront about the cost. We started with four hours, two days a week. When F. needed more extensive care, Cheryl came to the house to re-evaluate him. When I asked the bottom line, how much more it was going to cost, she replied, "Oh, your hourly rate won't change." At one point, I needed surgery, so they worked with me to have 24/7 caregivers. Again, no raise in cost per hour. For two weeks, they filled the schedule. We always knew who would be coming, and there is an online site where you can check to see what the caregivers wrote, using a password, of course. All of the people who came to our home were everything we had hoped for. They were professional, supportive, and friendly. It was always made clear that if someone didn't "fit," they would find someone else. We were always more than satisfied. I don't usually like to recommend companies, but I do this without hesitation. I used this service for over a year and the care ranged from good to bad. Over the course of the year, I went through several homecare servers who ranged from OK to terrible. Also, I feel I was overcharged and had a bad experience with one of the caregivers. I have ceased doing using their services and certainly cannot recommend them. read more

Indecare was recommended when my mother needed round-the-clock care in her Carmichael home due to worsening dementia and delirium. This was in an independent living apartment in a senior residence with meals provided, although the care givers were ready to cook. Over four months Indecare sent several compatible care givers who were punctual, caring and professional. They stayed in the apartment with Mom and kept her safe, walked with her to the dining room and on the grounds, engaged her in conversation and laughed with her, gave her pills on schedule, helped her dress and reassured her when she was confused or fearful, both day and night. I cannot recommend more highly IndeCare In Home Care.  When my very active 88-year-old mother fell and broke her right foot and suffered a significant gash on her head, she was going to need 24/7 care for several weeks.  Within 2 hours of my call, their director was at my mom's home making an assessment; and, by the following evening we had 24/7 care started.  In the past, my mom had two extremely negative in-home care experiences with her aunt and my sister, and was very fearful of having agency staff come into her home.  The IndeCare caregivers were absolutely outstanding, and the agency made every effort to have the same caregivers come to her home.  Both her daytime and evening caregivers were so competent, compassionate, and friendly.  And IndeCare's business model with Honors Care Network was seamless.  I was able to see the week's schedule of the caregivers assigned to my mom, and had access to real time caregiver notes on the activities that occurred during their visits.  The service is 21st century caregiving at its best.  I recommend IndeCare without any reservation. read more
