I developed a large lump on my top lip after the 2nd half syringe, and it felt like the filler was in my inner mucosa of my lip and placed too deep. When discussing what to do about this, she told me she was trying out a new type of filler and two patients out of four developed the same issue. She violated my right to informed consent since she failed to disclose this. I was never informed this was a trial product. Failing to disclose that a product is new or experimental violates informed consent. I lost trust in her abilities so I sought a second opinion by an expert injector who also teaches injecting classes. She confirmed the filler was placed too deep and done incorrectly. Instead of ghosting Demi, I felt like she deserved to know, hoping it would serve as constructive feedback. But she was very aggressive and unprofessional on the phone and blamed it on my anatomy. She berated me for not giving her another chance to fix the issue. There were other red flags: * I expressed desire for treatment for my undereye area. Initially, she said she could laser right up to the lash line but later, she said she couldn't after I was already there for the treatment. * I overheard her tell a friend shadowing my laser peel how important hydration was before a laser treatment, but she never told me. I also received no written pre- or post-treatment instructions, except one time after I explicitly asked for it. * She spoke negatively about a former client during my consultation, which felt unprofessional. * She gave inconsistent stories about going to a training course for the Russian lip filler technique, then later saying she would have to travel to London or Italy to learn it. Then on the phone she said she was supposed to go to the training course (taught by the nurse who fixed my lips), but canceled d/t to our appt. After my request, she did refund the 2nd half syringe. The refund did not go through. I asked about it twice after her not getting back to me when she said she would and she assured me it was all good on her end. So, I had to file a claim with my bank. It was only then that her mother called me after just a few minutes of being informed of the claim to say she looked into it further and saw that the refund did not go through. I had just won a daxxify treatment that Demi no longer would let me receive from another nurse in her spa. While I understand that filler can occasionally produce unpredictable results, how a provider responds makes all the difference. I did not feel supported or treated with the professionalism I expect from a medical aesthetics provider. I share this review not out of malice, but to help others make informed choices about their care.
