From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt peaceful and relaxing--it instantly put me at ease. What a lovely experience. I was hunting a very specific look of which a few had turned me away. I didn't want the current bushy/full brows, but a leaner/finer look. Not only was she up for the challenge, she made it great. Just got back home, so I'll need to take a new photo in a few days once the tint has washed off my skin. Kristen is a lovely person to be with, very real, honest and high integrity. Not to mention over 20 years of experience. The price was more than fair, and I actually expected more. (Yes I tipped her). Put you trust in her and her salon, walk in and relax knowing what you need she can manage and work with you. Perfect business, lovely woman Kristen is. The two photos are 3 days later, no makeup at all, no brow pencil or color filler, no brow mascara, nothing and they are flawless. That said, it doesn't come cheap; my highlights and layer trim were $300. I used a level-2 stylist, so it was $75/hour. After the complimentary consultation where we discussed at length my expectations, we booked a four-hour appointment on her professional estimation. Sounded close to right (previous experiences elsewhere were easily over 3 hours). But the actual appointment was 5 hours long! Yikes. Sylvia did a meticulous job of highlight foils, and my hair is very thick, so the timing, though surprising, was not without reason. By the time she'd finished the semi-blowout, the color was no-hum though. She asked my thoughts and agreed with me that the desired red was not nearly met. She booked a follow up at my earliest availability, free of charge of course, to re-tone. The second attempt was about two hours after styling, and just about perfect. The color is almost exactly like the sample I provided. It is a subtle but noticeable change that looks very natural, but with a coppery pop. The trim was perhaps too minimal, but to her credit, I told her my exclusive curly-cut stylist back East would be seeing me in 6 weeks and is territorial enough to keep me hesitant of betraying her with another haircutter. As such, we had agreed upon a simple layer cleanup. I am extremely happy with the service, with the product, and with the experience in general. Sylvia was delightful and very attentive and interested in ensuring I was happy. Lord knows I've had more experienced stylists impart DISASTROUS results, and not nearly as gracious about remediating.
