History

Established in 1963.

Independence County Abstract Company has been serving the people of Independence County for over 50 years. Beginning with preparing abstracts and title searches, to writing title insurance for all real estate transactions, Independence County Abstract Company has continued to offer the most current and efficient forms of proving land title ownership. Established by Fred Livingston, Sr. and Fred Livingston, Jr., the Company was officially approved to prepare abstracts on lands acquired by the federal government on November 29, 1963. In 1987, the Company was purchased by Glendal McMullin and Cynthia Nicholson, and during this time period began writing owner's and mortgagee's title insurance commitments and policies for real estate transactions involving sales and mortgages. In 2013, Kyle McMullin became a co-owner in the Company. We look forward to working with any and all clients and aim to give the best service throughout your transaction. I have been around the title insurance industry my entire life and I felt the need, and have the honor, to carry on the legacy of what my family helped build. I enjoy helping people and seeing the joy that comes with finishing a real estate transaction, whether it be them reaching their dream of becoming a homeowner or finding that overlooked vacant commercial lot that will become a thriving business.
