He told us he could work on it the end of December, 2025 and have it done in a few weeks if the weather held, which it did. We bought his lie and paid him 10% to put us on the schedule then 40% to start the work. We also paid him over $10K for the garage doors he was to order and install. Things didn't happen as planned. He was slow to start, then he, his son and his son's friends, did the tear-down and removal. He had a lot of excuses. After a few more weeks and several phone calls, he started the ground work and dug the holes for the new pole barn. Then nothing...total ghosting. No response to our calls. Our contract with him had a 30 day notification clause to cancel, so we gave notice we were terminating. At this point we found out from the garage door manufacturer that Mosaic had never placed an order for the doors. 30 days later we were out and had another company do the work. So taking out what we agreed to pay for the tear-down and removal, the dirt work and the holes he drilled (some out of place), he still owes us over $16,000. When we caught him while he was taking his equipment off our property, he told us he never intended to finish the job, that he used our money to pay his other bills and that he had none to give back. We are currently seeking legal advice to decide which path to pursue: 1) turn him in to the sheriff as a thief, 2) take him to small claims, or 3) hire a legal team to take him to court. His pattern is clear and I wish we had researched him more up front. He came recommended by the barn kit company however so we thought he was legit. They have since removed him from their installer list...

Don't be fooled like we were - He talks a good game. In fact when I first met him, I should've trusted my instincts... I felt the man was all talk and no action. I certainly should've read the reviews and not gone with the one referral we had. Mike Tesman, Mosaic Builders, should be in jail where he can't continue to hurt, & steal from others. When I confronted him face-to-face, as he was removing his equipment from our field, where he stored it for free for two months, not doing anything, he even said he would get us paid back for not doing the work AND not ordering the barn door (for which we also paid him). & that too was a lie. He'll say anything... to simply take your money and run. If only we'd researched more & read reviews BEFORE we paid this con man. Sadly, we were given incomplete info. when we looked into hiring a builder & ended up getting taken by Mike at Mosaic. Long story short - DIY sold us a kit. Mike was "on their list," (but doubtful that's the case now!) He convinced us to pay deposit, plus 40% -- plus $ for barn doors (which he never even ordered from Amarr). He talked himself up, then didn't show up, except a couple times, when he tore down our old barn - which he knew we needed rebuilt quickly for our two old horses. Instead, weeks went by and he was a no-show, despite the mild weather. We trusted him, but he's without conscience. He started out making excuses, then that quickly evolved into his ghosting us. He never even started building the barn & after two months, we notified him we wanted a refund for services not rendered. (The supplies were laying out in the field and we worried they'd start to warp.) He made no attempt to refund anything we'd overpaid him. Simply put - Once he stole our money, Mike Tesman disappeared. He is a thief & a user, and doesn't care who he hurts. Besides the reviews, I noted his lame rebuttals... & had to laugh. He tells you there's "no problem" with this or that, then acts like it's an issue, or makes something up when he responds to those posting an honest review... You can't believe a word he says. (& he's not worried about his license - Another source stated he doesn't even have one.) Wish I would've known then what I know now! Trusting that the courts (or at least karma) will catch up with this criminal. If nothing else, hope others learn from our mistakes and misplaced trust..
