It's my favorite kind of store, featuring handcrafted wares. They're of high quality and are imaginative. There were earrings made of pieces of vinyl records combined w/ sterling silver and others made of pieces of the record labels. There were necklaces of dichroic glass, handmade notebooks of denim and leather and very fine ceramic pieces. There were very cool puppets. My favorites were a couple of cats clothed in sumptuous robes. There were gorgeous painted silk scarves. And that's just what I can remember admiring. One of the artists was staffing the shop and she was friendly and welcoming w/o being the least high pressure. The shop was a welcome contrast to all the touristy shops selling souvenirs that surrounded it. It's close to the port so when cruise ships are in town it's readily available, although I suspect most cruisers are heading for the souvenir shops. Too bad.

Located in the heart of Basse Ville (Quartier Petit Champlain), the shop is full of small and large pieces of hand carved wood sculptures. The pieces range from cute gnomes to relief sculptures of people and Canadian wildlife. Above the shop, we saw the studio where the woodcarvings are created. While planning our trip, we had read how a group of artists in the 1970-1980s transformed a rundown area of abandoned historic buildings into what is now the thriving Petit Champlain district. Monsieur Alain Flamand was among those early pioneers who opened a shop and studio here.

The classic Provencal designs AND made in France... what more could you want :)

Rocks. Lots and lots of rocks…read more OK so they're more than rocks but if you're into that kind of thing, come here. They have jewelry, they have a display of some really old fossils. The help doesn't bother you. I'm not sure if thats a good thing because I didn't actually want to buy anything but I presume if I had, they would have helped.
