A historic home is located there with some neat history if you get the chance to stop and read. It's a great place for family photos or wedding/homecoming. My greatest criticism of it is that it's just feet from busy Highway 61 and you can't escape the traffic hum, even on the furthest trails. (If you overlook the traffic noise and award Towne five stars I won't argue.) Today I walked the periphery on a series of trails that put me on natural, crushed stone, and asphalt surfaces. They skirted two ponds and went up and down moderate hills. The feature asphalt trail is just over a mile and passes through woods and prairie. Children will enjoy the outdoor classroom that's as much playground as teaching tool.

It took us 1 1/2 hours to complete the trail. Looks like you can fish on the dock or by boat at the boat ramp. There is a swimming cove for the other side of the entrance. The trail is quite easy and is clean of debris. I would like to come back in the late summer/ fall to see the tree leaves!

The cabins were of filth, and the showers there are mucky and there is rust, splotches of?? random muck everywhere in every corner of the bathroom. Not to mention the ants everywhere plus other bugs. Not even during night time. Don't even think about testing the theory yourself, just stay away from the camping experience. Other than that, I would reccomend this park to those who want a nice afternoon maybe enjoying the cool breeze, staring at flowers and other wildlife outside or go biking. It's pretty beautiful!

Future plans include additional natural features like wetlands and meadows and more amenities. Currently, there are four ball fields and a paved trail that circles the diamonds. Concessions are open during organized ball games. Restrooms are available but are distant from some diamonds. Peruque Valley also offers green space and a lake for serene visits when it's not busy.
