Starting at age five they began teaching us their beliefs. Throughout my years there I was told women are below men and and made to serve the man. They're homophobic and they will expel anyone like that. While some parents including my mother for years thought it was protecting us from bad influences when the worst was coming from my classroom. The school is almost entirely white kids and so racism isn't uncommon. I grew up calling my friend a border hopper and never being corrected or told it wasn't ok so I never knew it wasn't. Also a lot of favoritism. The church owns the school and I was in class with the pastors grand daughter and she never got in trouble. I knew the principals kid who was a year older. Same story. People like me and my best friend who didn't attend the Church were seen as unfaithful and it was really damaging to my mental health to be shown such favoritism in an education setting. School is supposed to be equal rights and teachers shouldn't be allowed to discriminate against students or their families for their decisions

Aside from frequent minor issues, the decision was easily made when speaking to one of the directors, Morgan, about a concern we had. Our 4-month-old was not fed for 5 hours (until we got home). The daily report had a false entry of a feeding within those 5 hours, which is likely why the teachers thought not to feed. After being given many questionable excuses, Morgan concluded that our baby fell asleep right before being fed. And when he woke up, he was in line to eat behind other babies, but we ended up picking him up. So, within the 5 hours, he napped 1 hour, and we picked him up 40 minutes after he woke up. You can do the math there. But wouldn't this mean that he should be first in line to eat? Why is he waiting to be fed for so long? She then told me that the teachers were aware that he needed to eat, which is not what the teachers told me over the phone. Another reason I didn't believe Morgan was because the teachers have been amazing with notifying me of such things during pick up or over the phone. Morgan must not think very highly of the teachers to be saying that to me. Morgan asked me what can she do here? - You're the director. I would have been much more appreciative and remained in Goddard if you honestly told me that the teachers followed the false entry, and that you will take xyz actions to prevent that and regain our trust in Goddard. Instead, you were not trying to solve anything and simply put the blame on a short nap and us coming in to pick up. Other daycares ensured me there is no such thing as having a baby wait in line to eat, because they have floater staff. Mistakes happen and I fully understand that. But the call with Morgan made me feel that my baby is not a priority to you. No one followed up with me or did anything to try and correct the situation. I'm happy to provide details to anyone who would like to learn more and decide for themselves.

Each week the school has a theme, and each age group learns an age-appropriate lesson relevant to that theme. Examples are recycling, sign language, etc. There is a rock climbing wall for older kids, an outdoor gardening area, a library, and so many thoughtful touches. The staff are very friendly and take the time to get to know all of the kids. They are very clean; everything that touches a kid's mouth goes into a bleach bath before being passed to another child. The classrooms are well maintained. Our child smiles when being dropped off and when we pick him up. That's a great sign. He hugs on his teachers, so I know he likes them. We are so appreciative to have our child in such a great daycare.

I just have to say FIRST, I'm soooooooo excited for my kids to attend here and SECOND when I entered this place I just felt overcome with tranquility from the music they had on, which was like meditation music and my kids (3) and (2) went straight to Priya, the director, which made me feel even more at peace. And then when my son asked her where his cubby was she said, "when you come back we will have one ready for with your name." I thought that was very sweet. Then when my kiddos kept playing with the paint bottles after I told them not to, she again very gracefully stepped in and redirected them. She didn't say no, or anything like that. The teachers are genuinely so caring, creative, and dedicated to the children. Our daughter has thrived in ways that we could not have predicted, both socially and academically. The activities they provide are so much fun for the kids, our daughter got to hatch baby chicks, grow butterflies and have so many hands-on, nature-based learning experiences.
