The teachers have worked in helping our student make up gaps in math and reading and continue to help push her forward. All the staff is helpful and available to help us when needed. Miss Kendall never makes it seem like she is too busy to help answer forgetful mom questions and always does it with a smile. Mrs. Augustine usually can be seen welcoming kiddos in the morning. Their fees are very reasonable and clearly laid out on the website. Communication with families is good and clear expectations are set. They are adding sports and clubs to further expand their profile. We are overall very happy with the decision of placing our daughter in class.

We were notified at 6 PM on Friday that our daughter could not come back full time on Monday. Needless to say, it has put us in a terrible position. I can understand staffing turnover has made it difficult for them but they gave us no notice and chose to not keep my daughter in the program because she doesn't have siblings. In other words, they made a business decision about my daughter and our value to them as a family. We always paid in advance so she would never have to deal with her care being transactional and they could focus on her without worrying about the money side of it. Unfortunately, we just weren't valued here. To boot, since we pay in advance they had a check in hand for this week and despite me telling them not to, deposited it. If a teacher, teacher assistant, or floater is hired then they are expected to clean ALL the classrooms by the end of the day. As a teacher assistant I was scrubbing toilets, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting EVERYTHING. Then you are not allowed to take your time. It's rush, rush, rush. They don't warn you about all the janitorial duties from the beginning. You also have to pay for your own physical before being hired. I had no health insurance and I was a single parent. Don't bother asking for reimbursement. Then staff members are forced to sit on concrete floors covered by thin rugs WHILE holding young infants. No back support while rocking infants is so painful. Your tail bone is killing you by the end of the day. The staff members were so sweet and polite. Most were helpful but some couldn't wait to complain to management about you. It would be greatly appreciated if the teachers/leads would speak to you about your mistakes BEFORE running to the office. Back biting and tattling at its best!!! The teachers will smile and tell you that you're doing a fabulous job. Then BAM !!!! So sad but lesson learned.

The owners of the school are around constantly, filling in for teachers, cleaning up in the late afternoon. They have had some challenges- mainly with teacher turnover BUT I do not think that is a result of the school, owners, or management (likely just the nature of the job and it's requirements). In response to the other review on this page - my child was also in the class with HFM and the bizarre rash day . Honestly that was a bad situation for my family as well, BUT the paperwork clearly states that you don't get refunds for illness . If the school was refunding everyone for illness they likely would not be able to pay for the staff and facilities. I also agree that the management of the "rash" day was not ideal and I also ended up with a pediatrician visit. DO NOT be persuaded by that one negative review - kids get sick and it is very stressful BUT this school is great and the owners and leadership put their heart and soul into making it that way. I would recommend lotus to a peer.

When our son…read moreand daughter both got hand, foot, and mouth, they were out for an entire week each, which based on the tuition at Lotus, was around $650. We asked the management team if there was any way we could get a partial reimbursement since both my husband and I had to take turns staying home with our kids. My husband works in the service industry and doesn't get paid for days he missed. They said no. Then, after our kids were both back and healthy for several days, we were randomly forced to pick our son up in the middle of the day for a "rash" on his chin with a message from management about hand, foot, mouth. This was particularly frustrating because it showed the ignorance of the management team regarding how viruses work (our son had already gotten and healed from hand, foot, mouth). They forced us to spend $75 at urgent care before they would allow him back, and when I communicated how disappointed I was by their impulsive decision to send him home and force us to take him to urgent care, they literally ignored my message and responded with a professional platitude. The doctor who saw my son was appalled that the daycare would make us take him in when my son had already had hand, foot, mouth. The management team refused to reimburse us for even the $75 we spent because of their impulsive, ignorant decision to send our son home and disallow him to come back without a doctor's note. Oh, AND, they sent several kids home that day when they sent my son home, but guess who wasn't sent home: the owner's daughter. So a note of warning, Lotus is great until your kid gets sick; then good luck. The management team doesn't care what you have to say, and they don't actually listen to parents.
