I paid my deposit and after a few weeks i started to feel really bad about it - it gave me a very uneasy feeling in my stomach everytime I thought about it - and then the more uneasy I felt - the more I thought about it to the point I couldn't sleep it worried me they would ruin my photos - they just didn't seem to be listening and I was allured by the price of their package. I went with my gut, against everyone's advice in the summer - I cancelled my contract, swallowed my deposit, and started my search again. Because I was getting married in only 3/4 months - on a very popular date (11/11) I didn't have many GOOD options left - and quickly was blowing through my limited options - even though they say beggars can't be choosers, I was expecting A LOT. I found Dawn online, and was IN LOVE with her portfolio - and I didn't really think she had my date available - but she did! I snached her up quickly before anyone else got to! We met with Dawn for the first time only a few short weeks before our wedding and we were in love with her. She really seemed to care about the details of our wedding, and that was important because I cared so much about all the small details of my wedding. We talked for a few hours and really felt like she was the perfect match for us. She showed up the morning of my wedding with her assistant Ashlyn. It was very important for us to have 2 photographers because we have 2 brides to focus on. Dawn was with me, and answered a lot of my questions about how things would go and all the wedding traditions. She such a pleasure to work with! and we had now booked separate photo and video companies - and they worked together like true professionals! you would swear the way they worked they'd be working for the same company. So in my bridal suite you had Dawn and my videographer moving couches and people's things around to get photos by the window. Meanwhile in my wife's bridal suite you had Ashlyn standing on the couches, laying over the videographer to get her shots. Dawn & Ashley wrangled up a bridal party of like 20 people and made sure we got our photos done quick in the cold without dealing with dilly-dallying from people. we called her "bubbly & on point!" which is exactly what she was. Everyone in our bridal party loved them because they were such a joy to work with. Also my wife had an allergic reaction to her makeup, and dawn said she will try her hardest to fix it for our wedding photos, and she DELIVERED! because my wife was like crying she was going to look ugly in all the pictures. Dawn did an amazing job at getting the photos with her head angled so you didn't notice, or get it far away so it didn't look bad at all. We made a very last-minute decision to still honor our original date and we decided to go ahead with a zoom online wedding! I found Kelly's page about offering face time photoshoots while searching for Zoom wedding ideas. I messaged her two days before we were planning to have the ceremony and she responded right away. We set up a video chat so we could go over what she could offer through a face time photo session coverage of our wedding. She was able to be on face time throughout the entire wedding and was able to capture pictures of our ceremony and then we had a photoshoot afterward to get some nice couple shots, all while she was on facetime. It was easy to do with the camera on the tripod during the ceremony and gave great directions on how to hold the camera to my mother who was helping out during the photo session after the ceremony. No one could have predicted that we would be having weddings online or would have a need for facetime photoshoot and I think that it's awesome that Kelly was able to find a creative way to provide photography services within the limitations and guidelines of social distancing during this pandemic. It is amazing what can be accomplished with technology these days! The photos turned out better than we could have expected and will provide us with a lasting memory of this unique time in our lives. Kelly was very professional throughout the entire time and has quickly adapted to this new way of taking pictures. He understood exactly what we were looking for and fully executed. He was very flexible as we had to change dates due to covid without any extra charges. The package pricing is also unbeatable - for other photographers we looked into pricing for just wedding photos was the same or more compared to our package with NG Studio which included our engagement shoot, photo and video for the wedding (with Nour another photographer and two videographers + a drone), one full album, two smaller albums for our families, and 3 USB drives. For our engagement shoot, I was able to coordinate with Nour ahead of time to get both photos and video footage of me surprising my husband with his early wedding gift. We loved the engagement session since we were able to get to know Nour better and get more comfortable in front of the camera. He was so helpful by providing us with poses. For our actual wedding, I was nervous about being able to get all 80+ of my relatives in a group photo but Nour's team was able to get the shot! Nour is incredibly accommodating and so friendly. They gave us a link to our full gallery 4 weeks after our wedding. If you're also going with video, I'd recommend selecting or at least considering which ~10 songs you'd like for your video since my husband and I were slow about picking them. Looking for a wedding photographer in NYC is a grueling process due to the amount of photographers (or wanna-be photographers) and the cost. I had met with about 5 photographers and while all of their works were impressive, I felt more like I was just another wedding in the calendar to them. Heather is really very personable. I felt like she was one of my girlfriends and she really understood how important this day is for the couple. She wanted to know about my fiance and I, our lives, our story. While most photographers book 2 weddings a week at least for a total of over 70 weddings a year, Heather only takes 22 weddings per year. This is because she wants to be able to focus on each wedding and producing a beautiful finished product to her customers. Heather also does fashion photography (check her blog) as well as family candid portrait photography. Her prices are not as high as other NYC photographers who charge over $4500 for the same amount of work. Her prices are within middle-ground NYC standards (my wedding in 2008 was $3000 for the wedding package, plus $400 for engagement photos, and $500 for a photobooth set up - YES, she set me up with her makeshift photoshoot for my guests to play with!! which usually if you rent a photobooth will cost you $2500).. Look her up, consider her, you won't regret it!!
