I first discovered this little gem through the 'Festival of Food' many moons ago. My aunty and…read moreuncle speaks highly of this place and regularly frequents it. Regardless, I was overdue for a visit. Before you even enter the establishment, the delectable smells wafting out into the carpark would stir any palate. In need of a renovation, one would be forgiven to conclude not to expect too much from this restaurant. It is rather drabby and the terrible lighting does not help. However, the staff are friendly, courteous and loyal. I recognise one of the staff from my first time here. Always a good sign of staff retention ability when you see a familiar face. Water was offered and poured upon seating. Menus distributed, we quickly made our selections. Entrees arrived in the form of pakoras, chicken tikka and fried mushrooms. All was lovely, except for the mushrooms. I didn't rate it, because it was rather beige and boring. Still, the portion was generous. Continuing our sharing is caring philosophy, our mains consisted of the prawns masala, butter chicken, aloo gobi and beef vindaloo, accompanied by safron rice, steam rice and naan bread. Every main was delicious, although the vindaloo is considered extremely hot to most, so diners beware. Only order it if you can handle the heat. I'm a massive capsaicin fan, however, I found it a little too warm, which can ruin your dinner if that was your only chosen main. Note the memorabilia and famous signatures decorating the space. It is a good place to eat, will definitely return in the New Year with friends in tow.

Just keep a look out for the green and red sign. Indian Masala seems quite popular with the locals. I think it is one of the only Indian places around here. They are also open quite late to 12am Mon - Sun. The interior is not too flash, it's is pretty much a takeaway store with some options to dine. The tables aren't large, but suits fine for families wanting something informal and well priced. This is not top quality Indian food. But, it's pretty good. We had the Palak Paneer & Chicken Korma. Both sauces were well spiced and balanced. The Korma was a lot better than the Palak Paneer. I did not think that the palak (spinach puree) was as strong as I would have liked. This is one of my fave Indian curries, so I am particular with it. The paneer was nice though and had been cooked on a pan before going into the curry. I also tried a masala tea, which is more of a mellow version of a chai tea. Love that! Overall, a great shop to get some Indian takeaway.

Indian masala are a dine in or take away fully licensed Indian restaurant located in Arndale shopping centre ... Right near woolies. They have a huge menu and as a vegetarian this is an awesome thing .... I actually have a choice of what I want to eat =D They have specials as well The veggie specials were 1 curry w rice $5 2 curry w rice $7 3 curry with rice $9 (I think the meat curries are $2 more) I opted for the 3 choices Butter paneer, dal makhani & punjabi chola OMG it was delicious And cheap I also had the homemade unfreaking believably good samosa. It was huge and they are $4.50 for two. I cannot wait to come back and try the other vegetarian curries they offer.

They were very warm, smiley and welcoming. The lady handed us menus and offered us to take a seat - inside or outside. (Most of the tables were for about 2-4 people, so I wouldn't recommend large groups coming here.) We ordered at the counter and they brang our lunch to our tables once it was freshly made. I chose a smoked salmon foccacia with capers, lettuce, spanish onions and fresh dill mayo - sounds good hey!? It was! My only criticism is that there was a bit too much bread, but I find this the case with most foccacias any where. Pasta Gourmet's menu includes pasta (shock!!!), pizza, curry, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, chicken schnitzel, a large breakfast menu, cakes, and of course tea, coffee and cold drinks. Oh, and one last thing, everything is under $15!!!

The pies were full of meat and gravy, and had a really nice flavour and texture. The base was nice and firm, and the tops were all flakey. Perfect with a big dab of tomato sauce. The coffee was great too, nice temp (though it had been sitting in a car for ten minutes), and a great flavour to the beans.
