I love this store so much. They carefully select every item, with a focus on local, handmade, non-toxic goods. I wish I could buy everything. I also really appreciate that they have an affordable resale section (near the back of the store), which I frequent a lot. I've bought some really nice, high-quality resale clothing and shoes for under $5. Babies and toddlers grow out of things so quickly so its nice to have the affordable option as well. read more

I appreciate the ethos of this shop; they sell a good selection of responsibly made products for babies and young children. (Toys, clothes, accessories, etc.) They carry products that are nontoxic, some organic; also locally made or fair-trade. It's a great place to get gifts, and they offer free gift wrapping as well. The owner is so friendly and enthusiastic! Feedback for improvement: * The store is somewhat cluttered/messy. It could be better organized. * The book selection is poor. Most of their books could be better written and illustrated. I try to imagine if the book would keep the baby/kid entertained, if it's educational in some way, and if the parents might enjoy it too (or at least not get bored reading it aloud). read more

I was so excited to search around this beautiful shop. It has so many different types of baby and toddler items that are not typically found in the main steam stores. Bamboo chopsticks, those amazing tear proof baby books, gorgeous dining sets for toddlers as well as an amazing consignment section. It was a store I will go to again whenever I'm in Santa Fe. read more

Today I went to Indigo Baby for the first time. I went to look for cloth diapers. They carry a few different brands including Thirsties and BumGenius. They were also having 25% off sale so that was excellent. We also purchased cloth diaper liners, cloth wipes solution, a bathing suit, a wearable towel, and some training underwear. The employees are very knowledgable. I was asked at least 4 times in the 20 minutes I was there if I was finding everything ok. I didn't need that kind of attention but I've worked in retail so I get it. Indigo is not the cheapest place to shop but everything is carefully picked by the owner and environmentally friendly. Additionally, they have classes offered for parents and children to spend time together. Shop local! Spend a bit more to be environmentally friendly! read more

This wonderful little store has two parts: beautiful, organic baby clothes and toys in the front (many of which are handmade and local), and affordable consignment clothes, books and toys in the back. Between these two areas is a little play area for babies and kids with some toys and puzzles to try out. I love how this store has it all: expensive fancy things that would make excellent gifts, and cheap consignment goods for thrifty moms and dads. The front of the store contains lots of clothes made with soft, organic cotton, and German toys from companies like Haba and Heimess, many of which are made out of beautiful, soft wood. They also carry slings and carriers, and cloth diapering materials. In the consignment section, I found several gently used toys and clothes for $1-$2 apiece, while my husband and 7-month-old played with the owner's baby in the play area. The owner was friendly and helpful. We ended up nursing our babies together and sharing stories and tips about breastfeeding, pumping, introducing solids, teething, milestones, and so on. This place provides a tiny slice of that community and village that is missing in our modern lives. I believe they also offer classes, as there was an essential oils class happening in a back room while I was there. Minus one star because there were a lot of anti-vax materials prominently displayed. I know small business owners have to carry what the customers want, and you can't make everyone happy. It just undercuts the community vibe to promote a practice that places a hypothetical risk to your own child ahead of the health and well-being of the community. Nevertheless, I am excited to go back, and I wish there were a store like this closer to home in Albuquerque. read more

I was so happy to find this cozy spot for parents and babies while traveling in Santa Fe. It's got a huge selection of cute, inexpensive consignments as well as some fancier, well-made choices that are great for gifts. Also sells maternity products and toys. The owner goes above and beyond, providing a changing table and diapers, a quiet place to nurse and books and toys for kids. read more

Indigo Baby is a fantastic store for baby clothes, toys, and artwork. They have a great selection of new clothes, including a bunch of gender neutral Baby Blastoff! items. The prices for these are what you expect. But what we didn't expect was the great consignment selection in the back of the store! Just about every item was under four bucks, and they were very unique and in great shape! read more

Right when I was finally coming around to this store, it all went out the window due to the remarkably rotten attitude of the woman soon to be the new owner. I certainly don't appreciate going into a retail establishment, only to be patronized, condescended or devalued as a customer and potential vendor. Incredibly rude, unprofessional and unpleasant. You'll find no lead-laden baby rattles here! BPA--strictly verboten. This small store in the DeVargas shopping mall specializes in natural, organic baby and kid stuff, cloth diapering, etc as well as natural baby gifts and toys. The owner does her research in deciding what brands to carry, and I can always find great gifts for babies and kids in the store. read more

I love this store. The owner researches all of her products meticulously, to make sure that everything is free of nasty chemicals and was made fairly (ie. no child labor). She also is passionate about selling high-quality handmade stuff by local makers--whenever I ask her to help me search for something, she always talks about the local goods first, with great enthusiasm. She has an extensive consignment section, too. She really is a shining example of a small business owner we need to support. She loves the community and is in the business for wonderful reasons. read more

Awesome place!! From the new owner to the products to the variety of classes I can't say enough about this place. My son loves going there just to play with toys. I never feel pressured to buy anything when he's just playing. The owner even let me go in the back to breastfeed my baby. If you're a parent to young kids this store is a must visit! read more
