was the worst salon experience I've ever had. She overbooked herself so multiple people were waiting for services with half done hair . The tec who took out my extentions was so un experienced she ruined some of my extentions . There is glue all threw out my hair . They used a powder on my extentions and did not recondition them before putting them back in . Why were multiple people working on me ? Why are they not trained properly ?I over heard them talking about watchung a u tube video to figure out how to remove them ... They are not placed correctly and they are very uncomfortable. Because they were not placed correctly Kimberly cut them almost 2 inches shorter .I pay lots of money to have long hair .It was my 40th birthday present to myself and I cried . You charged me an extra 35$ to blow dry my hair ?!! Shouldn't that be included ? I'm going to request my money back . I expect this will be handled in a professional manner. 345 $ to cry upon leaving is bad business practices and they nickel and dime you to death . The salon I go to charges me 75$ to move my tape ins . They wash and style your hair as part of the cost and offer you wine and a free tanning session when you spend more then 100$ . Do not go here. You'll receive a haircut that is equal or better than this Salon if you go to hair cuttery, great clips, holiday hair, etc. After repeating my request several times of no choppy layering I received 4" point cut on half my head. I look like a child took scissors to me for the first time. I can cut my own hair better than the supposed "professional" that cut mine! Don't bother asking for them to fix their crappy work either, they'll just ignore you. The only reason I gave one star was because they washed my hair. Something that most low budget places don't offer. However, expect for them to berate your hair, texture, appearance, ect the entire time you're there. Nothing positive came from going here. I went for feed in braids basically and they quoted me $1,000 for extensions that I couldn't even braid, which was what I wanted. I ended up going to a local African American salon and getting the braids for $25 in 30 minutes . Definition of white privilege for sure! They just want to make money. I was really disappointed.... will never go back! I'm sure they're good at something but they definitely are not affordable . read more

I came in for my second visit at this salon a week ago. I told my stylist that I was wanting to go blonde all over but would be willing to stick with balayage highlights if he thought that was healthier for my hair. He recommended a balayage starting a little higher on my head to prep me for blonde all over at the next visit. What i got was not as expected. The color on the ends of my hair was quite nice, however the transition into my natural base color was very poor. The highlights were very patchy, particularly at my part. My stylist said that the demarcation line would ease over time. Two days later no such thing had happened. Because of how high the balayage highlights started, the color contrast, and the patchiness I looked like I'd had a bad highlight job and let my roots grow out for a month. I was not happy with it so i reached out to the salon's owner, Kimberly. She asked that I send her pictures of my hair which I did on wednesday. She agreed that the highlights didn't transition well and said she would contact me about hopefully getting me into the salon for a followup on Saturday. I did not hear back. I emailed her again this morning to follow up and was told that she was unable to do the color herself but that another experienced stylist could accomodate me. I was informed that they would touch up my balayage for free but if I wanted my hair blown dry I would have to pay extra. If i wanted all over color, which we had discussed in the prior email, I would have to pay. I declined to accept either offer. My 2 star review is on the basis of the following: (1) disappointing results from a stylist with 9 years of experience and (2) customer service in response to my disatisfaction. I expected better work from someone with that much experience and I did not appreciate that he told me the line of demarcation would ease when it did not. I do not feel that it is appropriate to charge a client for a blow dry when she now has to come in for correction of a bad product. I did not find it to be an appropriate response to charge me another $85 for all over color either. While the owner did explain that all over color is a different process (while simultaneously accusing me of being vindictive just because I changed my mind), I simply do not understand the rationale. Were I able to get a refund for my bad balayage I would certainly pay $85 for a new all over color process. However in this scenario not refund was offered and I am left still having paid full price for bad balayage plus an additional full price for another service. This is simply unacceptable to me. It's poor customer service and I have decided to take my business elsewhere. For the sake of full disclosure the owner was responsive to my complaints however I did not find her response/sokution acceptable in my situation. I did inform the owner of my intention to post a yelp review when I was trying to explain that I didnt understand why she would throw away my future business, plus the business of other yelpers, over $85. Her response was to accuse me of being derogatory and trying to make her salon suffer because I changed my mind. I do not feel that that is an accurate description of what has transpired nor do I appreciate that statement from a customer service standpoint. Very disappointed. UPDATE: I went to a salon in Hunt Valley for color correction after this experience. I was advised that my hair was INCREDIBLY over-processed and on top of the work that needed to be done to blend my highlights I had to have 3 inches of my hair cut off (after an intensive deep conditioning treatment). I couldn't even just cover up the bad color job because my hair was so over-processed that they didn't think color would hold in it. I do not know how to do hair but I now know, thanks to the qualified stylist I had in Hunt Valley, that having bleach saturated hair under heat for a half an hour is NEVER a good idea. Do not trust the judgment of this salon. They are not balayage experts nor are they able to make good judgment calls on what is and is not healthy for your hair. I spent $160 here only to leave with my hair looking terrible and irreparably damaged. read more

I have been using this salon for the past 11 years. I am officially done with it. The customer service of the stylists has gone drastically downhill. When I find a stylist there that I like, they end up leaving. It's always new stylists in there. The one I talked to on the phone today told me their color explosion event was for clients that have been there before. Um really? I have been there before! Granted not as much the last few years because it just hasn't been the same. Well after today's call they have lost 2 clients because my daughter and myself will not be back. read more

This salon has been great for me! I have very thick, curly hair that has a major frizz problem. I spent most of my adult years just living with the crazy curls. I also started to have way more gray hair than I wanted so it was time for routine coloring as well. I made an appointment at Indulge initially for coloring. I left my first appointment feeling beautiful with my new base color and highlights! Eventually the Brazilian Blowout was pointed out to me and I decided to go for it. Well my crazy frizzy hair looked unbelievable - I looked like another person! The Brazilian Blowout in combination with the new coloring made me look 10 years younger. My husband loves the changes and I sometimes find him staring at the new me! I have run into people I haven't seen for a while and some said they wouldn't have recognized me, but all love the new look. The employees at the salon are all friendly and courteous and do a great job. I would recommend the salon to anyone. Missy N. read more

Review for men's cut. I usually bring in a photo of what I want and they start from there. They are familiar with the latest styles and techniques. I don't see a lot of guys here, but they do know how to cut hair. Being new to the area (8 years ago), I was looking for one of the area's best and someone recommended Indulge to me. This is for the South George Street location. OUTSTANDING customer service! I went to another salon in York for highlights and they butchered my hair. Called Indulge to see if they could fix it. They found me an appointment right away. Taylor was AWESOME!! She took the time to consult and give me suggestions for what she could do based on what had already been done by the other place. I even had a short time frame for her to work within and she NAILED IT!!! She even told me that since I needed to leave and my hair still hadn't developed to the exact color she wanted that I could come back after work and she would add more toner if I wanted. First, let me say that I HAD to give one star to get the review going. When I made my appointment at indulge, I did so, after moving to a new area (haven't changed my profile yet) and made it 8 weeks out and also after reading plenty of reviews. As any woman knows who gets her hair colored 8 weeks is a LONG time and the day of my appointment, I took a half day off work and was preparing to leave the office for my 3:30 appt when I got the call that my stylist. "Kimberly" had called off for the day. They could not fit me in with anyone that day or for another week. For what is to be such an upscale salon I had expected a little accommodation...even an I'm sorry would have been nice. I would never go to Indulge and have told as many people as I can about what happened to me. Bad business. read more
