I never expected to find a Thai & Alaska fusion restaurant in Petersburg; population 3,400. The owner (Wear) and kitchen staff are Thai. The pork Pad Thai was excellent and loaded with pork. It was very hot, right from the stove. The Halibut tacos were another gem; stuffed with fresh halibut. There is a more than adequate selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. From the experience of a tourist. Food: food is really good, I was concerned considering the range of food offered but I will admit I was wrong. Service: staff was nice and saved us money by not ordering water and getting it from the coolers. Ambiance: really nice friendly and clean I would 100% come back here. read more

If you're traveling through S/E Alaska pop over to Petersburg and stop into Inga's Galley. A little hike in the wall with ousted seating (covered). Right next to one of the key hotels in town (they rent cars there too). Food was exceptional, setting super fun and quirky. I wish we had more time to go Back again and to try more of their food. 5 stars for the seafood. 4 stars for the sides. 3 stars for the breakfast and breads. Nonsensical menu with both Thai and classic-Alaskan food, but it somehow works. They do seafood really well here (as befits a fishing town), and they even have things you can't easily find elsewhere in Alaska. Halibut cheeks and white king salmon were particular highlights, but they do all their halibut and salmon well. Sides were generally good. Rice was cooked well, egg rolls were fresh inside. Green curry chicken was also about average. They do have some weak points. The standard American breakfast items were underwhelming, not as good as you'd find at an average diner. Their bread for sandwiches and breakfast items is store-bought puff bread. read more

Wow. I definitely didn't expect this place to be this good. Let's start with the food. I ordered their special which was a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. It came with a side of fries and was $16.00 a great price. I also ordered some Clam Chowder Soup I was craving it. This was $12.00. I took one bite of the clam chowder and was HOOKED. It's my preference to have clam chowder thick and meaty. It was exactly that. Came in a large cup and I could barely eat half. 5/5. The BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich.... WOW, I mean I can not stand Coleslaw so when I saw it on the sandwich I was turned off immediately. I am so glad I pushed through and took a bite because it was freaking amazing. The perfect combination of slaw and pulled pork. Soft grilled bun and cheese. I am beyond impressed. The fries are definitely home made and not my favorite but still good. I highly recommend this place. Now this place is set up to sit outside. They have an indoor tent but mostly tables with umbrellas and a couple high tops. Everything is served in to go boxes so you can chose to stay and eat or take it home. The weather way a mix of rain and sun so I opted to take it home. I however sat out at one of their tables and watched people walk the streets as I waited for my food. It was actually quite nice and the umbrella covered the table and chairs well enough to keep you dry. The food only took about 15-20 mins. I got there at a peak dinner time and it was still quick service. If you want, you can order a beer or glass of wine while you wait. This is a definite must stop while in Petersburg. Cute outdoor seating; fries were the best part of the meal. The fish of the fish and chips lacked any seasoning and was bland. The shrimp burger was piled with a mayo type sauce but had very few shrimp ( don't be deceived by the Pic they have posted by the menu). I'd probably go elsewhere next time. read more

Burgers, Beer, and...Thai? A true hidden gem in Petersburg! You know this place is unique when colorful photos of Thai food marks their place amongst typical bar fare of burgers, fish & chips, and chicken fingers. As luck would have it, the young ladies staffing the window were on break which allowed me to discover the secret of this standout operation: Thai Chef Wear Eide. I spent some quality time chatting with Chef Wear and watch her in action at the Galley, all the while smelling the intoxicating aroma of the stir-fry on the griddle. I ordered my standard go-to Thai dish - Pad Thai, to which Chef Wear boasted that she makes the sauce from scratch personally. Sold! My food came out quickly, piping hot. The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious! There was plenty of protein (standard tofu and scrambled eggs, I had the chicken option) and a ton of rice noodles. If I was not on the road away from home, I would have only eaten half and saved the rest for a hearty lunch the next day. $3 Thai Iced Tea! It was not watered down with ice, what a bargain! read more

I'm not sure why you are in Petersburg but I am sure that you need to eat here! We had halibut tacos that rival anything we have ever eaten in Southern California or south of the border. It's a tiny place with beer on tap and some fine canned craft brews, cider included. Nice patio dining, friendly service and reasonably priced. read more

Great to fish tacos! And beer on tap. They are closed seasonally. July 15, 2014. Branched out from the fish tacos for lunch and tried Alaska curry with shrimp - had great flavor, but proportions were off, not a lot of protein for that amount of rice. Returned for dinner and tried the Baranof BBQ burger - pretty good, but probably wouldn't get it again, had quite a bit of sauce. Fries are super greasy, never been a fan of them here. Service was great! Great place to eat, think ill default back to the tacos. read more

Inga's Gallery is a small, fenced in food truck diner that is next to the Scandia House Hotel in Petersburg Alaska. The servers never came out of their food truck in the 4 days we ate there while fishing in this little town but their service was cordial and nice never the less. We had many dishes at this establishment while we stayed in Petersburg and never had one where we said "that sucks". All entrees we bought were very good. Every place was closed at 7pm, but not Inga's. We stopped in and after trying different dishes between the four of us, the pork sandwich was by far the best. Tasty and filling. I enjoyed all of the shrimp quesadilla with a nice glass of wine. I just wish they added guacamole with the sour cream and pico de gallo along with a bigger wine cup. This place is all outdoor seating with the exception of a tent just in case its windy and the weather calls for a-lot of rain.
