I'm going to give this 2.5 stars because I don't know whose fault it is to give them lower. I got a fix-it ticket. I went down there, stood in line for 30 minutes, and found out the ticket wasn't input. Its tough because the ticket had a DUE date ut nobody entered in the ticket yet. They said it's not in system soooo... Now I have to come back and do it again. It should have been input. I don't know if it's the California Highway Patrol or if it's them. I will try to look it up online but had a good conversation in line with people sooo :) Agian didn't get two or one star because they were nice but hopefully this will get resolved. read more

Couldn't take photos for obvious reasons but I had to attend this courthouse for jury duty. The parking situation was confusing as you get moved based on how full the lot is even though jurors get assigned parking. Staff were not as helpful with guiding to courtrooms so you had to quietly find where you needed to be and once you became a juror, you couldn't talk to anyone anyway. There is no fridge or microwave for jurors to store lunch so you have to eat out everyday, and there was not a cafe to purchase coffee or snacks either so you had to buy your treats before entering. The judge and bailiff of our room was helpful but i can see why people say being in a courthouse is frustrating, I plan to not have to return for a long time. read more

My husband called this office today regarding a family law custody and visitation summons he had sent, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. He called at 1:31 p.m. and again at 2:22 p.m., just trying to provide the tracking information as he was told to. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude -- she rushed the conversation, wouldn't let him speak, and acted irritated that he called back even though he was just following instructions. We understand that office staff are busy, but that's no excuse for being unprofessional and disrespectful -- especially when people are dealing with important legal matters like family court. We expected a much more courteous and helpful response. Very disappointed. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Idk im not here to comment on how insane the judicial system is. This review will hopefully just be helpful if you're trying to navigate this courthouse for the first time. Built so weird. Don't park in the parking garage if you can help it - it's a slightly longer walk, but parking meters on the surrounding streets are a better bet. Mind the street sweep hours, and you can find reliable free parking in the residential area/streets close by. Arrows & signs are helpful to get to the courts, but it's still a little confusing the first time. Parking garage has giant arrows, or you can always ask the attendant. Walking in from the street, there's a set of stairs to the second floor, where the actual courthouse entrance is. You go through a metal detector/scanner before entering, every time you enter. Water is fine, but don't bring anything in a glass bottle. Cameras and pictures also not allowed inside. Bathroom on the first floor is just past the elevators. read more

So furious that I cannot find out which public defender is handling a friend's case! It takes forever to reach a person, then they just put you on hold until you hang up. I need to get information to my friend's public defender that is vital to his case. I cannot go there in person. There should be an online portal so you can connect with a specific public defender regarding a specific case. Having to jump through all these unanswered phone calls is maddening. First timer here I would always be sent to LA and serve there. I was summoned to Inglewood and did my research before coming in on parking and food and just to have an idea honestly. Got here early and didn't have a problem with parking. Was told you can park right across for $8 but they haven't changed that on their website and now it's $9 to be exact. Also there is a Free parking to the other side of the building that I was later told about. As you enter they do have security and they check your bags and all like the airport. Everybody was very nice and there weren't that many people on a Friday morning. There were enough elevators for everybody read they can be chaotic at times but literally no more than 1 min of wait. I've all experience was great, def a lot better and that LA less people and more organized if you ask me. All the security and everybody here were very friendly especially Kathy the one that gave us direction while in the court room. She's super sweet.. for what the place is it's decent and clean. Bathrooms are very pink and reminded me of a diner bathroom. read more

They changed the hearing date without any notice. Even though I was at the office after the date was changed, nobody told me anything. I had to take a day off from work, and showed up on the wrong date. They just told me to show up on a new date. Moreover there was only one clerk who recognized as their mistake, but other clerks made it my fault. This clerk explained to others what happened, and they were like "Why? It's not our fault!" How careless, rude, and unprofessional. I showed up to the new hearing date, and NOBODY in 6th floor could direct me to the right place. I asked one clerk to write down where I was supposed to go, and he refused to do so because he did not want to take any responsibility. I saw another stressed family outside of the small claims office, meaning I was not the only one dealing with the mess these clerks caused. I won the lawsuit, and waited for 30 days. I came over to file Application and Order to Produce Statement of Assets and paid $60. But guess what? The defendant appealed a day before I filed, which was in the computer. I thought this clerk looked at my case before he took the paperwork and the payment from me.....he was probably pausing the Netflix drama. A week later, I received the two court dates for the one I paid, and the one the defendant appealed. I called the office, and this lady did not even listen to me and right away she said, "Uh-uh, we don't do refund." So I had to explain again and again that it was not my fault, I was finally put on hold, and when she came back, she told me file another paperwork for the refund. Have I got the refund yet? They probably lost the paperwork or burned it already. I am going to end up updating another issue from this place. This place is a nightmare. Please, drive a little further to a different court. Very easy to do business here but unfortunately street parking is at a minimum and the garage parking charges $8 flat fee so if you must make several trips it adds up. But there never seems to be any waiting in line. Doing business has been very quick and easy. read more

Hmmm looks like I had a change of heart? Was planning on presenting a 1 star review. I was going in to jury duty kicking and screaming because the building had no cafeteria to dine in and the only place to get food was a snack bar in the 1st floor. Looks like everything worked out for the best for me and could work out for you as well if you end up in this courthouse. The Inglewood Courthouse is organized, clean and easy to get to building in sunny Inglewood. I'd say that if you work here or are serving as a potential juror in a criminal case, the experience can be pretty cool. Staff and security is polite and professional. Yes it has one snack bar but it's well stocked with lots of options and a good selection of strong flavored coffees! If nothing appeals to you here, you are given a 1.5 hour lunch break and theres plenty of places to choose from around the building. The only gripe that I have...and I totally get this, is that you can't use the stairway to get to your floor. Ya gotta use the elevators that can get pretty packed, but fortunately its not a very tall building. The stairs are for fire emergencies only. OVERALL: If you must serve as a juror or you need justice to be served, by all means have it done here! As for the cafeteria being closed...so what? Who wants to eat in a courthouse anyhow? I liked the parking access to the courthouse. However, it was $8.00 regardless of how long you are there. They are not set up to monitor by the hour. Regardless, the parking attendant was pleasant, professional and helpful. The entrance to the courthouse security screening was relatively easy. However, finding the right floor for the Small Claims Division was confusing. This is because the Court is one floor for Small Claims and the Office is on a different floor. Regardless my overall experience was positive and I will be back and write an update if anything different has changed. If you are assigned this courthouse as a juror, I recommend you request a different one! There are 4 elevators and only 2 work (those 2 are temperamental). This can make your wait times up to 20 minutes to get to your destination depending on the time. There is cafeteria only a small snack shop. The juror assembly room leaves much to be desired with stiff rows of seats that can be uncomfortable when waiting all day to see if you are called! There isn't any accessible outside break area since it would take you too much time to get downstairs and out. Juror parking is located in the "employee parking lot" on the roof level. Beware there are limited spots and on days where many jurors are called you may not get a spot and you may have to park elsewhere and pay. I was called to a courtroom for a case and waited in a hallway outside of the division for over 2 hours one day. What this looked like was 75 jurors standing, sitting, laying down on a courthouse hallway tile floor. Also the air conditioning was not on and it was very warm. If this is a normal practice the courthouse should consider more benches. Furthermore, it took 4 days for this particular group of jurors to be heard in regards to hardship of being on trial for a long period of time. This was difficult for many citizens and I wish there could have been a more efficient way to handle this process. Overall I say try a different courthouse it can not be worse. read more

The first judge, Frank, ruled against me. The appeals judge was supposed to hear the case as if a new trial but from the beginning without even saying anything, she said that Frank is a fair judge and she will tend to side w/him unless I have new evidence. How is that a fair appeal? Then she didn't even follow what the case was about since her ruling was based on things she said happened that didn't happen. We had to explain that she misunderstood but then rather than reconsider her judgement she just said it was the same difference and she ruled against me without even reconsidering the facts of the case. There's something rotten in Inglewood and these two judges are very stinky indeed! read more

Judge Ronald F. Frank is a bias and we lose our cases because of his unlawful ruling! This matter is not over, we will use any legal means to get him disbarred. He believe 10 prostitutes and all the other lies from the plaintiffs and did not believe the truth with evidence only. He interfered with these cases by contacting a third-party private company and the state of California Department of consumer affairs to try to get evidence with his investigation. We had no opportunity to cross examine any one he emailed or talked to but he believe that over the truth. His behavior is criminal and charges will be brought against him regarding this matter. He talked about initially he heard 1000 lies in court small claims obviously he didn't learn anything from it because he believed over 50 lies. He doesn't know anything about running a business since he never ran a business he's only an attorney and not a very good one at that. This is all on him he should resign based on his illegal behavior in the Inglewoood courtroom. Please be careful he is totally biased one review said he's an idiot he doesn't listen to you he's arrogant according to the reviews. Inglewood courthouse has been pretty good to me! My landlord was committing slumlord activities, so I moved out and sued the ish outta her! Didn't get all the dough that I wanted but I felt I got justice financially and making things very uncomfortable for her. As the saying goes, Karma is a bit#h! I also got help in collection! So courtesy of the excellent sherif station who executed my tenant and account levy- I got my judgement against her paid within 30 days after it was awarded to me! Tenants don't be afraid to seek redemption for bad treatment, you do have rights!! Before renting get well versed on that Tenant rights handbook. Landlords you too! Extra special thanks to Ms Crane and the other sweet lady (ponytail and kinda limping-can't remember her name) who helped me! Second tour of Jury Duty at this court. Things I'm noticing that are a bit disturbing. At the entrance after the wand and scan process are four elevator shafts. Two of them are OUT OF OPERATION and according to an employee, have been for quite some time. Thought I'd take the stairs, but no, the stairwells are locked so criminals/defendants won't escape?! Hmmm, so I'm an emergency like a FIRE or an EARTHQUAKE the chances of getting from the 4th floor to the ground floor are slim. The air circulation in the Jury Assembly room is not working properly. Especially noticeable when the room is full. Even when it's half full! [Review #168] This occurred over a year ago & I was in a rush to leave so I didn't finish my review... I had a traffic ticket [my 1st & hopefully my last] & had a court date at Inglewood Courthouse to have it removed from my record. I arrive 20-minutes ahead of my scheduled court date/time so I could navigate my way around the courthouse in case I got lost & no one is available to help. Their website does not provide info on what to do when you get there; i.e. check-in process, where to go, etc. (if it did, I wasn't able to locate it). Upon arrival, I didn't know where to go after getting screened; the lines were somewhat long but screening process was quick & efficient. Luckily, there was a female court officer nearby that gave me the info I needed. It was a bit nerve wracking - the sitting & waiting - so I ended up pacing frequently. I had a wake to attend in Central CA so I was looking at a 4+ hour drive, pending traffic. When my scheduled time arrived, the door to the courtroom that I was assigned to was still closed. I was a bit agitated & freaked out about my pending drive, so I inquired with the officer that I spoke with earlier & she said the judge might just be running behind schedule. I explained to her my situation & she said she's assigned to my courtroom & it'll be opening shortly. It would be another 20 minutes before the doors opened; court didn't start until 1:50 PM. Judge Carol Rose was introduced & we rose to attention. She spoke with her clerk, flipped through some paperwork, & a couple of minutes later called out a few names. Then she addressed the courtroom, cracked a joke & said: "Those names that were not called [dramatic pause]... this is your lucky day... your ticket will be expunge from your record & you do not need to pay your ticket. Have a great day!" Whew! I was relieved that I didn't need to prove my innocence & the ordeal was over. On that fateful day when I given the ticket, the traffic officer had already pulled someone over & was in the middle of dispensing a ticket. He couldn't have seen me make the right turn in the right lane because his view was obstructed by a large SUV in front of me, & mine of him. Once I made the turn & moved over to the left lane, I saw him immediately & tried to move back into the right lane & that's when he flagged me to pulled over as well as the car behind me. That intersection is notorious for motorists using the middle lane to make an illegal right turn so I can understand why he would assume that I made the turn illegally because I had changed lanes so quickly. In any event, Judge Rose dismissed us at 2:00 PM, & I had just enough time to get to my uncle's wake that evening. A couple of weeks later, I received a refund from Inglewood Courthouse. It could have been a lot worse, so I was grateful to the court officer & judge. I'm docking a star for the exorbitant parking fee because parking is free at the Torrance Courthouse where I serve jury duty. read more

Review as a juror. The jury assembly room is on the 4th floor. It has decent chairs, a couple of tables and a few computer kiosks. The room is clean and there are plenty of windows to let in sunlight. Staff is pretty friendly. I used the employee entrance by mistake and they were nice about it. These judges are just in cahoots with these cops. I don't remember the judges name but she was a temporary female judge (crystal miller-O'Brien)in room 202 where they have traffic violations. I was called in for a red light traffic court. The officer , officer Jimenez of the Hawthorne police department, showed the video of the traffic violation and shows a person clearly not matching my identity . My photo sat next to the red light violator and clearly wasn't me but I this judge is still having me pay the ticket when it clearly wasn't me. This place is a big experience place and it's no wonder our country is in the state it's in when we have people like officer Jimenez and the female judge. Now I got to pay a 500$ ticket when I got no job and they didn't allow me to do community service. What a joke this courthouse and it's judges! read more

Disappointed on how helpless staff is, particularly Melanie from Juvenile court-- I need ONE document stating my husbands juvenile records have been sealed, I have a deadline to meet and get this document to immigration. I had called previously and was advised to fax his ID and request that document. Melanie without even listening to what I had to say immediately cut me off and say to come in June 22nd. Very frustrating situation. She tried to tell me about immigration court when I never asked for that information, I know why I called and did not need her input on something she has no idea about. This courthouse needs a waiting room with chairs for prospective jurors instead of a hallway with a couple of hard benches that accommodate only 8-10 people. More than 100 of us were stuck in the 5th floor hall outside the courtroom yesterday for more than 2 hours. We couldn't leave because we didn't know when we'd be called into the court room. The majority were middle to upper middle age and and most ended up sitting on the hard, cold floor. UNACCEPTABLE! We don't mind waiting but we do mind being terribly uncomfortable and treated like cattle. To add insult to injury, 2 of the 4 elevators are broken and it can take up to 20 minutes to get to another floor. No access via stairs as the only outlet is on the 1st floor. read more

I recently brought a case to small claims court, my first time personally involved in the judicial system aside from jury duty. Everyone I encountered at Inglewood Court House was helpful and friendly! Their systems are archaic, but they know that and even acknowledge that they're updating them. Small claims court isn't a great time, but honestly it could have been a lot worse if the judge, bailiff and even security weren't so surprisingly polite, pleasant, humorous and accommodating. The epitome of urban decay and probably the strongest case of the decline of a functioning government. If you have to file a small claim this place is a nightmare. It's located in a dangerous section of town, the parking garage costs $7 now, and the small claims clerks along with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department clerks are not only completely unknowledgeable but are downright sadistic. And there's no one to complain to because there's no accountability. Inglewood Courthouse is the only one in Los Angeles you can't contact directly by phone and even a small claim advisor said, "oh, that's why," when I told her about the problems I was having and which courthouse I went to. JURY DUTY Park in employee parking on Regent St., top floor, free. Walk down a level to enter at 2nd floor around the building, take elevator to 4th floor, room 404. Bring a laptop, cell phone or book, maybe a pillow to sit on. (Long day of sitting if you don't get called.) But we had a judge (Wright) talk to us about why jury service is a good investment of your time, and this place is nice, so don't try to wiggle out. And do the video online before you go so you don't have to be there so early. read more

I was stuck here most of the week. Although it's relatively close to where I live, it's still in an area where there's not much to do. Parking is convenient and free, which is nice. My beef is about the waiting area for jurors before they go into the courtroom. There are only a few benches and chairs available, making the only recourse standing for long periods of time or sitting on the floor. The jury selection process for us was was long and delayed, making it even harder on those of us who had to often wait more than an hour before going into the courtroom. Why not have some comfortable benches, or chairs to accomdate the jurors? The jury selection process is tedious at best, and at least we could be comfortable while we wait. read more

Hey guys , I'm familiar with Inglewood courthouse & have been coming to this location for a while. I should start off by saying that the parking rate is $7 flat rate cash only NO debit cards or checks and you have to pay in advance, No exceptions!! Handicap cost is still the same price & no discount what so ever to anybody. Employees that are from the county or state that are their for personal reasons still have to pay aswell. There are NO in & out with the same ticket , which means once you pay to go in & leave for break or for any reason & come back with the same ticket you'll have to pay again NO exceptions. Other options if you dont want to park in the structure are meter parking (coins some take cards) or street parking. But good luck finding any if you're not their before 630am! (Seriously there's not alot) If you're a Juror park inside Employee Parking which is the next parking structure after Public parking , free for jurors but you'll have to show your summons!! But no worries if you do park inside public parking they will refund you back you're money if you show proof that you're a juror. The court house is open late the first (week) Wednesday of every month ONLY opens at 805am closes at 600pm!! The best hours to come to court if you're just paying for a ticket or information is after 130pm it's not as crowded as it will be in the morning. In the morning there's always a line for all departments so don't expect for things to be done quickly! *Parking tickets are paid at City Hall not at the courthouse* & there's no snack bar inside the courthouse im not sure why but its been close for months already so please take some food and coffee and come prepare because you'll be at court for hours do to lack of service. It's pretty sad to hear the judge acknowledge that she doesn't have a lot of time for cases due to budget constraints. I'd think at least our Justice system should have enough money to operate fairly. In any case, the Inglewood courthouse is a pretty nice place as far as architecture. There are murals of Los Angeles Elite, such as Caesar E Chavez and Kenneth Hahn adorning the lobby walls. When you walk in there is a metal detector and short X-ray to make sure you don't bring weapons in. Upon entering there is the "traffic court" which is really just a stand-up window with 4 slots. in the morning there is a huge line of people waiting to pay their citation or ticket (HEY GUYS YOU CAN PAY ONLINE NOW!). The 4th floor is where my destination was, the Juror selection room! There are a lot of bathrooms in this courthouse, as it's not possible to leave the courtroom/jury room when a session is taking place. The actual courtoom is what you expect: brown wood, a lot of paperwork by the Judge's seat, a lectern for the lawyers, etc. I hope I never have to come here as a plaintiff (or defendant!) read more

I e-filed a small claims case and opted to have the paperwork sent to the defendant via the certified mailed option online. About a month from the court date, I hadn't received confirmation that the defendant had gotten the paperwork or knew of the date, so after emailing this question to the superior courts email, I was directed to call here specifically. I called SEVERAL times, each call taking several minutes to first go through the prompt, the hold, then dozens of rings before the line clicks and hangs up. I've call during business hours every single time, and NOT ONCE did anyone answer. Whoever is supposed to be taking calls here should be fired. I can't get confirmation from anywhere else, this is the only phone number they have listed for small claims, and I'm out of state. Thanks for nothing, Inglewood Court! I did jury duty here Feb 6-7, 2017. Well-run queue getting into the building (reasonably organized X-ray/scanning). The two girls running the jury assembly area were very pleasant (even if one dropped Ebonics on us a few times). They exhibited NONE of the bossy attitude I've experienced at other jury rooms in other courthouses. So why only 3 stars? Jurors are directed to park on the top of the parking structure, until it fills up, after which they're to park in the basement. The problem is: the top of the parking structure ends in a dead-end (you don't seamlessly get led down on the other side of the building), so when it fills up, the last car has to execute a piece-meal, 180-degree change of direction (reverse-forward-reverse-forward-reverse-forward) until they get turned around to go back down the same way they came up . . . . made all the worse by the fact that there are 10-20 cars in back of you trying to do the same thing. This is an enormous cluster-f_ck, and it must happen EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY that the courthouse is open. It's one of those poor architectural design decisions that you figure only happens in 3rd-world nations. Nope, right here in Inglewood! Ok, so the parking structure is built, and can't be re-designed/retro-fitted. Here's the best available solution: The attendee at the entrance to the parking garage should be given something like a Handheld Tally Counter (type that phrase into GoogleImages) which he/she uses to count cars that have the "Temporary Jury Duty Parking Pass" in the dasher of their car. When the counter rolls past the limit for the number of parking spaces on the rooftop (the primary place where jurors are allowed to park), he either manually directs further juror cars to the (secondary) basement parking or puts out a sign telling them to go down there (because the rooftop is full). No more cluster-f_ck on the rooftop !!! You're welcome, LA County Court System. read more
