I had a consultation with Dr. Damion regarding about my skin, stubborn ingrown hair that I want…read moreremoved, and acne scars on how to get rid of it. Because OTC meds isn't working for the last 4-5yrs. And I caved in to seek professional help about a month ago, and today was my first treatment in Microneedling with PRP Vampire Facial. Now you may ask what procedure is the Microneedling with PRP. It's basically to help minimize the signs of aging, diminish sun spots & acne scars that I've had for my love for being at the beach and my having acne scars due to life stressors. With that, microneedling offers a minimally invasive solution. Also known as collagen induction therapy, Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure that is ideal for all skin tones. The Microneedling treatment uses the Eclipse MicroPen, which creates tiny pinholes in the top layer of the skin, activating the body's response to start healing and producing new collagen, thereby creating "new" skin. -Now you may ask what are the benefits of having this procedure done. The benefits of having this provide done is to help remove damaged skin and improves skin texture and tone. Reduces appearance of sun spots, melasma, acne scars, fine lines & wrinkles. Encourages collagen production, producing brand new skin. Short recovery period with little to no downtime. Non-invasive. Relatively painless except some slight discomfort, but it's a tolerable pain about a 1 out of 5, and 5 being the worse pain. But I was able to handle the session as it wasn't that bad. Cost-effective about $895 for one session. They do have package deals where you save about $300 if you pay the total upfront cost of $2k+. I can't remember the exact amount. But I only did one session to try it out. And if it work, I may do a 3 package deal to save $300. -Short treatment time. I had a facial done, and it took at least maybe 15-20min. From numbing my face for about 15min, and to start the microneedling took about 15-20ish min or so. -How Does it Work if you may ask? At the beginning of the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ensure there's little to no pain. While the patient is relaxed and lying down, the provider will glide the microneedle over the treatment area, stimulating collagen production to address skin concerns. -Who is a Candidate? Microneedling is considered safe for most people in overall good health. And please stay hydrated the night before you arrive to your appointment on the day off. With that, Microneedling is a highly effective treatment that can benefit people of all skin tones like me. Whether you have fine lines & wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation and blotchy skin, you could achieve great benefits from this treatment. Microneedling may not be suitable for people who use certain acne medications, have open wounds, cuts or abrasions, have had radiation skin treatment within the last year, are suffering from any skin infection or condition or herpes simplex in the area of concern, have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing, or are pregnant or breast feeding. -What can I Expect? According to Dr. Damian. Immediately after the treatment the redness should diminish within 24-48 hours. After the treatment, you will continue to see a visible difference in the skin's appearance and texture over the first few days and into the following weeks. You may need several treatments for the best results. And to WEAR SUNBLOCK and avoid the sun exposure if possible for best results on the treated area. -Safety & Side Effects: Immediately after treatment, your skin will have a mild to moderate sunburn appearance, with slight swelling. The skin may also feel tighter than normal and dry. -Instructions - Before Treatment Refrain from using topical agents that may increase sensitivity of the skin 2 -3 days before treatment. These products include Retinoids, Exfoliants and/or exfoliating devices, Salicylic washes and toners, products containing AHA and BHA's, and Hydroquinone. I will provide the after photo when I see results once healed. But for now, I'm embarrassed to show my after pic treatment. As it looks like I have a bad sunburn. LOLOL! For now, more to come. Will update you Yelpers as soon as I see results. :) if you read this far down, thank you. And hope you visit this dermatology concerning of your skin. Don't prolong getting seen, before it's too late. You don't want to hear the bad news that you've been diagnose for skin cancer. Namm sayinn... Unsanitary. I went there to have a mole removed and upon entering it's a cute and modern reception…read morearea. To me the receptionists personality and the aesthetics were the only positive part of visiting here. I used the restroom while I was waiting and there were boxes stored in the room, cluttering the floor. The trash can was to the top, nearly overflowing, with paper towels and bloodied gauze. Then, I was called for my appointment. The mole removal was very slow versus others I've had removed but it was alright. The main unsanitary part is the assistant's hands, and the Dr that permits it. The assistant had long gel/acrylic nails on ungloved hands that she handled everything with. There was no sink in the exam office either, it was immediate touch this to that. The tablet to sign, the door handle, the swabs, and the bandaid. After the removal, while she was putting on the bandaid, I even asked if she should be wearing gloves to which she replied she wasn't worried about it. So with my fresh bleeding wound there was no conern about bacteria on her hands; it sounded like her only thought was that she wouldn't get anything from me. I've worked in a medical setting and even painted nails were never allowed because of bacteria. There was no unprompted aftercare instructions also, not verbal or written, I had to ask. I've had moles removed before to know not to swim or go in a hot tub right after but I wanted to check if there was anything else to know or that I've forgotten. On checkout the receptionist was friendly but they had her give incentives for patients Google reviews. It was to get a free face product in exchange for a review. Grain of salt with all those positive reviews. One final note is I had an appointment that they cancelled an hour before the appointment. It wasn't a big deal at the time to reschedule but if I needed arrangements for childcare, transportation, or time off from work to handle a last minute cancelation/reschedule it could have caused issues.
