Love Chris and his team for great service! Their equipments are great, always seem to be taken care of. The small sauna and pool great to just relax after a full work out.

Truly a hidden gem, this gym is tucked inside a residential complex in the Lougheed area…read more Definitely a no-frills kind of gym, the equipment and decor isn't the newest and the bathrooms are kind of cramped, but they have mostly everything that you would need in a gym and they are undergoing renovations. My favourite aspects of this gym are the 4 squat racks and deadlift area which are still not too common. At my previous gym, I always found myself waiting for the one squat rack. Here, there isn't much of a wait. People seem friendly and put away their weights, there is free parking, membership is on par with chain-gyms, and there's a pool too. Also, the people coming here seem to be on a time-crunch and don't stall or look at their phones as much. They seem to know what they are doing so sharing equipment is much easier. For those used to the nicer-looking chain-gyms, the weights don't go up increments of 2.5lb if you're used to that. People who are not used to only using free-weights and want to use machines may find that F2K doesn't offer enough variety of gym machines, nor are they very new. The TVs are also limited, not sure if that's a pro or con to some people. Overall, this is a good gym. I hope not too many people come here and ovecrowd it. Also, sometimes they blast Adele on the speakers. I think good-taste is important in a gym, don't you?

Pretty cool. They have a gym, swimming pool, dry sauna, steam room, hot tubs, whirlpool, an ice…read morerink and a cafe. The gym is decent but the weight section seems jam packed full of equipment, which makes it difficult to move around and such when it's busy. The staff and trainers were all just kind of hanging out talking to each other but still helpful (A trainer came to help me when he noticed me staring at a machine with a confused look on my face and he didn't even make me feel stupid because I didn't know how to use it!) Standard sign up sheets for cardio machines but no one seems to really take notice, it was basically just grab whatever s available. The pool is huge and great. Loved the steam room and sauna, as they are both clean and spacious. Changing rooms are very large. The pool area is pretty empty if you go late morning/ early afternoon but the gym seems to always be busy. The restaurant boasts "fresh homemade snacks" on their website but I've only ever seen them serving hot dogs, hamburgers and sometimes those prepackaged sandwiches.

Since I have rediscovered my love for pools I've been coming here a lot, not 2 or 3 times a week…read morebut 6-7 times a week! The pool has 25m swimming lanes, 2 diving boards, warmer non lane swimming pool, big hot tub, steam room and sauna. The best part is $2 swim nights. From 9-10pm at it's $2 to go for a swim. They also have family swims on Sunday and Monday evenings they are earlier for $2. This is the reason why I'm there so often. Change rooms are ok, can be a little dirty at the end of a day but I'm used to that now. Also even though there are "no shoes" signs everywhere you can bring dedicated pool shoes like flip flops as long as they are clean. Don't be that guy that walks in with your dirty shoes on!

As a pacifist, it never occurs to me to view the world as a place of violence and crime. Fact is…read morethere are bullies, criminals, and violent assailants walking among us, plotting against us all the time. Nowadays with elevated stress levels and dire economic times, violent confrontations are becoming more and more common. Like driving, even if you are the best driver in the world, it doesn't guarantee you from not getting into an accident with a drinking driver, or craze road rager. At some point you would need insurance if not the ability to drive defensively. Coach Ray of Tri-cities Gracie Jiu-jitsu, states 90% of time when you get into a physical altercation, you will likely end up on the ground in some sort of grappling situation. Jiu-jitsu is a form of self defence aimed to address exactly those situations. (This concurs with the research I have done on the most effective martial arts for self-defence.) Tri-cities Gracie Jiu-jitsu is a branch of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, most effective form self-defence derived from Brazilian Jiu-jitsu which is was originally derived from traditional Jiu-jitsu. I have just done their free trial week and is contemplating longer term participation. All I can say so far, both Coach Ray and Coach Bobby are above and beyond great instructors. They are attentive, very knowledgeable and extremely patient. Not to mention the classes are of mixed level participants, the culture of the club is of mutual respect and with code of ethics and honour, something that is void in modern life. It is a joy to learn from the instructors and other students. Tri-cities Gracie Jiu Jitsu offer classes for youths, men and women-only. They offer rental Gi's for your free week of trial. With your membership, you get access to the Gracie University database of all the techniques existing (a 75$/month value.). Not to mention it is a killer workout.
