I travel all over the state for work and stay lots of places. This is what a small hotel should be. Cozy, clean, and welcoming. The rooms are big and have everything you need. All the linens, towels, materials , etc. are in excellent condition. I was so surprised to see that they offer breakfast delivered to your room. All you have to do is fill out what you want and hang it on your door. So many hotels have become just a place to stay and actually hospitality is a low priority. The opposite is true here. The man at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. The views and location are awesome with tons of nice restaurants steps away. Also, as a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe here. This is a very mediocre hotel. It is clean and the location is fine. The walls are very thin and we could hear all the visiting in the next room and traffic in hallways. Very nice clean motel and our room was clean and comfortable. The only suggestion I have for improving the experience is that for your breakfast basket, instead of the prepackaged overly processed danishes, burritos and egg sandwiches, you give guests a choice of one baked good from South Fork Baking, either sweet or savory. That way you're utilizing a local business and actually offering your guests something good to eat. The eggs, juice and fresh fruit were fine, but the burritos and danishes were abysmal. read more

Visited the inn. Due to an injury asked for extra pillows. Had to call down to reinquire was told they tried calling us, but no call was received. Was told we have none. The sheets were the most uncomfortable then what I'm used to. The room was clean, however, the maintenance was lacking. The basket for breakfast was a nice touch, it was delivered prompltly, and foods hot. Again due to the injury, I was slow leaving the room and housekeeping walked in without knocking as I was getting ready to leave. (this occurred arounnd 9am). Plenty of signage reminding locking car and valuables, as someone who has had their car stolen in the parking lot years ago, sounds like these issues are still persistent and likely gotten worse. My wife and I spent six days and five nights at the Inn during a recent cross-country trip to Everett and were quite pleased with the experience. It's an intimate little property, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast where you order the night before and they leave it in a basket at your door was very good, a cut above your average hotel buffet where you have powdered eggs and microwave sausage and it's never warm. The location is also perfect for getting around Everett, to Snohomish, to I-5, etc., and is in a scenic spot between the Navy base and the big marina. The staff was very friendly and efficient, especially the elderly gentleman who checked us in. There were a couple of times when the WiFi was spotty, but that was a minor nuisance in the overall scheme of things. We would stay at the Inn again, without hesitation. read more

WARNING BED BUGS!!!! I crawled into the bed, turned off the lights and immediately felt something crawling on my leg. When I turned the lights back on I saw bugs crawling in and on the bedding. I jumped out of bed as if it was on fire and immediately packed up my belongings. I went down to talk to the front desk where I was greeted by the nicest man I've ever met, Paul. He was super apologetic and offered me a new room. He went up to check the cleanliness of the room before allowing me to transfer rooms which was appreciated. Again, Paul was amazing. The next morning I went down to the front desk and asked for the manager. I told him what I experienced and tried showing him a video of the bugs. He brushed me off in such an egotistical way and said "that hasn't happened in the 7 months of me working here, sorry". I asked him what the protocol was for something like this and he said "we will dry clean the clothes that you were wearing. I was flabbergasted by his lack of customer service. It's almost like he didn't hear me say his hotel has bed bugs. I paid close to $200 to get bed bug bites, a horrible night of sleep and disrespected by the "manager". Paul should be promoted immediately to manager! The manager spent less than 30 seconds talking to me about the situation as if my room was missing shampoo and not infested with bed bugs. The manager is only human but he dropped the ball big time! 0 stars for him. Save your money, save yourself from bed bugs and save yourself from almost catching a case when the manager disrespects you. I almost didn't leave a review due to how amazing Paul was but nobody deserves bed bug bites or bloody sheets. If you're looking for a safe, clean room and a good nights sleep, check out Hotel Indigo next door. Don't waste your time, money or sanity on this hotel. Godspeed to those who risk it. read more

Stayed here during a visit with family. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are on a par with most hotels at this level and nothing to write home about. Where this hotel does go beyond and earns the 4 stars are the front desk personnel, especially Paul and Megan! Both were kind, friendly and very helpful to someone unfamiliar with the area. I do plan on staying here in future when visiting family, despite another recent review mentioning bed bugs. Thankfully, I did not encounter that issue and I sincerely hope the management treats the room in question to deal with the infestation so it doesn't spread! read more

Fantastic place to stay! We loved our suite which was very clean and stylish. It also had a patio overlooking the Marina. There are lots of great places to eat close by too. It's pet friendly which is always what we are looking for. We will definitely be back to stay here the next time we come to Everett on business. Found this place on hotel tonight, had to book something quickly for a business trip. It's a nice little hotel on the waterfront - good views of the marina. Very quaint feel. Really friendly staff (Frank) served me, was super nice and helpful. It includes breakfast that they serve to you in your room so that cool, nothing super fancy but nice. Good wifi, cable, and the room was comfy and clean. There are a few restaurants to walk to and a nice little board walk. I would stay here again it was a pleasant surprise, plus a sunny day in the PNW on the water is hard to be in a bad move. Saw a harbor seal. read more

Such a fan of this place. It's a perfect place to stay with a toddler while traveling, especially if you're working on the everett base. It's like next door. The service is exceptional, and the personalized basket of breakfast to your room every morning was soo nice. It's a simple breakfast with burritos, oatmeal, fruit, muffin, etc, but so perfect for families. There are three great restaurants within 5 min walking distance that we've discovered so far. July 19 2014 was our wedding day. We chose to spend the night at the Inn at port Gardner. The room was amazing. It had a hot tub on the deck and views of the water and marina. The best part was the staff. We arrived late, around 11:30pm. The two young (20 somethings) at the front counter were so excited that we were there. They were super friendly. At about midnight we called the front desk asking if there was any food delivery that time of night. Unfortunately there was not. They heard the disappointment in our voices. About 10 mins later we had a knock at the door. The staff had brought us food from the continental breakfast. Muffins, yogurt, and fruit. It was one of the kindest jesters Ive ever received. Their kindness made us cry with joy. Thank you for that memory. read more

This was the perfect place to stay for us. The Naval Base was right next door and Anthony's restaurant was a short walk away. How could the choice be better for us? The rooms were clean and appeared to have been recently updated. Floors were wonderful and no carpet! The view out our window was of the marina. It was spectacular. However, checking in there was a glitch. Computer system was s-l-o-w and eventually the clerk gave up and went to another computer. It worked and it was finally behind us. There is no cafe or breakfast counter. Instead you order from a pre-selected list and jot down the time. Breakfast is brought to your room in a basket. Cute. I liked that idea and if it had worked, it would have been great. It didn't work. One item we ordered was oatmeal with brown sugar. The oatmeal came but no brown sugar. So, we called the desk clerk who was going to let them know to bring up brown sugar. We waited, waited and waited. You've guessed it. The oatmeal eventually got cold and no one came. Since we were getting ready to get back on the road, waiting any longer for brown sugar on cold oatmeal wasn't an option. I asked the desk clerk about it when we checked out. Evidently we called her but she didn't pass it along to anyone because she didn't know where in the hotel the person was delivering breakfasts. Shouldn't there be some type of communication? Or, shouldn't she have told us instead of leaving us there to wait thinking it was coming? Had this hotel not been so nice I would have deducted another star for this but didn't. From my experience and reading other reviews, perhaps, a little more training might be needed for staff. read more

Front desk staff were wonderful. Lobby was nice, clean & cozy. Good access to marina walkway, fabulous view from the clean rooms, however, the rooms were cardboard-like, very cheap. Low on amenities and you could hear everything from other rooms. Biggest complaint were the beds, very lumpy and uncomfortable, worst beds I have ever had in a hotel. The sheets were flimsy and un- white. They offer a delivered breakfast, which is great, but the breakfast sandwiches were not fit to consume, stick with cereal, pastry and fruit. read more

So disappointed. Our room was across from where employees work and talk in voices loud enough to wake us. This was after we requested a different room away from the stairway and elevator. The check-in process was long as the woman checking us in was new. Someone came out of the office briefly to help her, but didn't stay to make sure everything had gone smoothly. The linoleum floors and tacky bedspread didn't help matters, in my opinion. On the plus side, it's a great location, next to a marina. This could be a nice hotel with some upgrades and bedding re-do. You're guaranteed a smile from the front desk followed by a welcoming, "How may I help you today?". Plus, if you are looking for a place to eat or activities to do in the area, the front desk have hot spots for you to try out like one of the buffets in town. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. Wait until you get into your room and open the window to a wonderful view of the waterfront. A sight to see indeed. The bathrooms are super clean and the living areas are just as nice. AND they deliver breakfast right to your door in the mornings. Can I get an "Amen". This hotel has it all, great customer service, comfy beds, a view, entertainment, the list goes on. A for effort ... cause the Inn at Port Gardner is trying ... tryin' hard. If customer service, personalization, and friendliness were all you need when staying at a hotel, then this hotel right next to the marina in Everett would be in a class by itself. Unfortunately, the rooms, facilities, and decor really show their age with a very rustic (and slightly rusty) vibe. I totally loved the local mom 'n son (instead of pop) feel during the check-in process. They were professional and organized while also being folksy and down-home at the same time. It's kind of like finding a hotel/motel that's really a bed & breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, it's very customized for each individual ... and included with your stay. Pick what you want from the short order form, put it on your door at night, and then they'll deliver your food/drinks in a little basket at your selected time. We sat on a little balcony overlooking the boats and shipping activity for a pretty peaceful start to the day. Free parking and internet were both bonuses. The Inn at Port Gardner is a run-down waterfront hotel that makes up for its age with a convenient location in Everett and absolutely fabulous customer service that makes you feel right at home for a night or two. read more

The staff here is amazing and go above and beyond. Views of the harbor and very nice. With only 33 rooms it is nice and quiet. Rooms are nicely furnished. I stayed in a corner suite with a nice fireplace under the TV. As a person that travels for work and stays in a lot of hotels, this is a great hidden gem. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The morning breakfast delivered to your room is a perfect touch and great way to start your day. read more

Very cute little hotel We stayed here one night after a concert. The room was surprisingly large and the view was surprisingly nice. I could see staying here after riding in on a boat docking it at their marina. I hear that they have concerts in the summer. That would be fun. Our room was right over the marina so I bet we'd be able to sit on our balcony and soak up the sounds. All in all- I'd visit again for longer than one night read more

The Inn itself is beautiful, but the front desk lady (who I shall call Karen from now on) was extremely rude. I booked through a third party and specified I needed a pet friendly room like I usually do when I booked. I declared at check in that I had two dogs- Karen was snippy with me and said I should have selected that when I booked. I did! Of course, sometimes things get lost when booking through a third party and so I took a deep breath, smiled, and did my pet paperwork. Then when she went to run my card, she had technical difficulties. The first transaction was cancelled accidentally (totally my fault- I removed the card a split second too early), so I slowed down to make sure the transaction was approved. I followed the prompts on the card reader and made sure the transaction said "approved" and not "cancelled" before I removed my card. Everything seemed to work that time- she gave my room keys, I bid her good day, and went to my car to collect my things and my dogs. When I returned through the lobby, Karen yelled at me to stop and that I couldn't stay in the room she assigned me with my dogs. Then she yelled at me that my card was declined and I needed to pay with a different card. When I pulled out my phone to pay with my digital card, she yelled at me that I needed to pay attention to her and not my phone- I replied that I was going to use a digital payment method, but I went ahead and used my first card- which again read approved. She then gave me new room cards. When my husband called to ask her name so we could talk to the manager later, she refused to give him her name and hung up on him! Do not stay here- try Indigo up the road if you want to stay on the waterfront. read more

I stayed the night at the Inn while my apartment was being worked on. It is a very nice place to stay, and quiet at night. I had a nice view of the Marina from my room, and the service was very friendly. Also, the lobby has free coffee, and a nice warm fireplace. I've been staying here for 30 years (see prior reviews). I'm a local who just needs a change of scenery on occasion (I've got kids...you get it). So, as I often do, I booked my favorite room at Port Gardner Inn a week or two prior to my birthday. The day prior to my arrival, I call to confirm (as I always do). The operator told me that they "had to move me". Why, I ask? Oh, well, because some diamond member came in at the last minute and wanted the room for a week. Who authorized my move? "The owner". This has zero do do with the staff here, as they've always been awesome. However, I just want to say here that being a loyal client for 30 years booking anywhere from 10 to 20 days per year here does not get you privileges. Loyalty to a small mom and pop buisiness means nothing here...at least to mom and pop. However, I did book at Indigo across the marina for my birthday. Nicer/newer place at the same price. Better view. More staff. Cleaner. I'm not mad. In fact, I would like to thank Port Gardner Inn for enabling me to change it up after 30 years and finally realize what I was missing across the marina! read more

The Inn has a beautiful location that barely makes up for its high price, run down condition and design flaws. Parking is horrible, and you must be sure to stay out of the lots for the nearby restaurant and West Marine or your car will be towed immediately. There is a loading zone in front but it is mostly unprotected from the rain, and you will have to move your car around behind West Marine, where it is vulnerable to car prowlers. There are perhaps six spaces next to the Inn itself. It was every nice to look out the back window at the yachts tied up in the marina, but we were very close to the restaurant, which proved to be a big problem. There was a party going on inside and the folks there sent their nine young kids outside to play, and they ran around screaming and yelling on the board walk for well over two hours. At 900 pm I called the desk and they told me they could do nothing but contact the marina patrol. 30 minutes later the kids went away, whether or not the patrol did anything I cannot say. Even with the windows closed it was a very loud and irritating experience. The room was OK, but the HVAC system is out of the stone age. There is a wall heater that was filthy and immediately below the window curtains. It was a serious fire hazard. I chose not to run the heater. The AC consists of a portable unit crudely vented to a hole in the wall, with a sign asking Do Not Move. It is ugly, inefficient and just stupid to have this in an expensive hotel. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Wifi was a disaster, very slow and dropping out often. Speaking of expensive, we paid $159 off season with two dogs which is too steep for the low quality of the room. The location is simply stellar if the trains aren't running, but I think an afternoon visit to the shops and marina are a much better option than staying here. I will not be back. read more

We checked into the inn at Port gardner October 27th 2016 at around 830pm. Room 201 ruined our nite. It had a smelly foul foot oder all through out the entire room and to top it off the employee was not at all customer care. We requested another room which she downgraded it with a smile. We requested an upgrade and willing to pay out the extra fee. She declined only stating it would be to much work for her to perform. I would not recommend this hotel if you plan to be visiting port Gardner in Everett. read more

I've stayed at the Inn at Port Gardner on a few seperate trips to Everett. The location is pleasant, a short walk from two Anthony's Restaurants and nice stroll around the marina, far enough from the bustle of Everett to make one forget you're actually in Everett. The lobby is welcoming. Giant floor-to-ceiling windows face the marina and in the chillier evenings or winter months there's always a fire going in the fireplace. Rooms are spacious, recently renovated, clean although they always leave me wondering if the space couldn't have been utilized a little better, or perhaps not so mass-decorated. The beds are comfortable and I always have a hot shower so there's little to complain about. Rather than the massive air-conditioning/heating units in most hotels, the rooms at the Inn are equipped with free-standing air conditioning units (rarely used in Washington) and in-wall heaters. A handful of television stations (how is it that in the world of 300-channel basic cable hotels still end up with 20 largely mediocre stations?) encouraged me to take advantage of the DVD library available to guests for a small fee. My co-worker originally encouraged me to give the Inn a try based on the always-available, baked fresh daily cookies in the lobby and the complimentary continental breakfast delivered to your doorstep. The cookies are a nice snack, but the breakfast is worth taking a pass on. Cereal, yogurt, danish, and fruit options that all seem like they were repackaged from Costco - not really an ideal way to start the morning, but likely useful if you're trying to get something to eat on the go. There's also a little take-out cafe next door to the Inn if you'd like to grab something a little more substantial. I decided to give other lodging options a try on my most recent visit only because of the somewhat befuddling pricing here. When I'd previously stayed for multiple nights with a co-worker during a busier season we paid less than what I'd paid for one night during the off-season. I asked the front desk attendant what the difference was when I checked out but she had no explanation. When traveling for business I'd rather stay somewhere where I know what I'll be charged day in and day out. read more

I liked this small, comfortable hotel. My parents got a suite for one night, and i slept on the fold-out couch, which was VERY comfortable. I know, I was shocked, but i slept like a rock. Located on the marina its has a cool view of the marina on one side of the hotel, and probably the parking lot on the other, get a marina side room. Aside from the noise of the train tracks, which was not the train whistle, but just the train rolling by, this place is almost perfect. Breakfast is delivered to the room, its not good, but yogurt and juice is hard to mess up, the bagel and muffin were less than ideal. But there was a toaster in the room so that helped. All in all a comfortable place to stay if in Everett Washington. read more
