But I decided I needed some change and have been talking to Megan Jessy about chopping my hair off and starting the blonde journey from black hair. Today was my first session and my hair came out exactly how I expected if not better! As you should know, going from dark hair to blonde is a PROCESS. It doesn't happen after one or even two sessions. This was Megan's first time doing a balayage on me and she was seriously so amazing and personable! I highly recommend her. And her cutting skills? I have long dark brown hair, I went in for platinum blonde (or as light as she could get my dark hair) peekaboo highlights on the underside of my hair, sent 3 pictures for inspo, my hair didn't turn out like the pictures at all. When I got home and could examine my hair closer in my own mirror and was getting ready to take pictures for instagram I noticed that my hair was uneven and brassy in some areas and some product (shampoo? Idk) had been left on the roots of my hair so I showered and rewatched my hair, making sure everything was washed out. I reached out to the salon, they were very kind and I was able to get in quickly to touch up the uneven part and here's where it gets funny. My mom pointed out to me that my hair is still uneven, I didn't believe her but sure enough it is. Despite my hair being toned a total of 3 times throughout this process I still have brassy pieces. When I went back in a second time for the touch up I felt like I was being rushed, she didn't have the care or attentiveness she had in my initial appointment. She used the wrong toner or something? So she washed it out and put a new one in which turned my hair purple, I live with a blond mom I understand the purple will wash out this was fine, but instead of my hair being platinum blonde it is now silver and it has stayed a silver gray color and you can barely tell I got the peekaboo, when I put it up however at the roots it's got brassy streaks and doesn't look appealing. I was confused. I mean... I walked in with a designer purse, luxury jeans, jewelry, the whole ensemble. If she was judging, she judged completely wrong. I wouldn't have pegged myself as "a waste of her time," but apparently, Holly has a sixth sense for bad attitude. She never offered me wine, coffee, or even water -- which, for a luxury salon, is basically the bare minimum. When I mentioned I just wanted a haircut instead of the deep conditioning treatment and didn't want the full color glaze, she cut me off immediately. Full attitude. Full irritation. She then brought her assistant over, and the two of them started chatting with eachother like they were in high school, making it very clear they had zero interest in talking to me. I repeatedly asked for more fullness/side volume but was met with pushback / attitude from Audrey (my assigned stylist) every time, and ended up with only 1 row and 5 I-tips. I was never shown the original packaged hair, receipts, or even the back of my head after installs, so I had no way to confirm what was actually used and what I paid for ! When I went to pick up my leftover hair, I was handed one small curved piece that is lighter in density, and doesn't match the color of what's in my head. The color installed also does not blend well at all with my natural hair color. Overall, I left every appointment feeling uncomfortable and confused, with no clarity on what hair was installed or what happened to the rest of what I paid for. Upon emailing the business my concerns, their response was that my hair was matted at my move up appointment (am I not paying them to maintain my hair and fix it?) and that all hair is correct and was returned.
