Wonderful! A place of kind, compassionate, and caring people who are dedicated to emotional healing. One of the things I especially like is the diversity of counselors and therapists--ages, genders, language, training--which imho means that there is someone there for whatever a client's needs are. My own experience is with Connie Austin, and there's not enough room in this review to explain all the reasons I would give her 10 stars if I could. Let me clarify that my issue is not with my therapist . No, my issue is with the front desk and the billing department. I have had health issues since having a couple of strokes and one of the things that affect me is my short term memory. Thankfully I'd always gotten automated reminder texts in addition to appointment cards...until recently. I'd ended up in the hospital and upon my release ended up having to go BACK two days later thanks to Covid-19 and then ended up under quarantine (the first time was due to my ongoing issues). My appointment was during this time..and I did not get a reminder. My account was charged $50. I called and was told by the guy at the desk in a rather rude manner that the automated texts are a "courtesy" and that they were staying open despite the stay at home order. I was then transferred to the billing department and was told that the money would be refunded within 3-5 business days. Well it wasn't and thanks to all this I'm overdrawn on my account with no money coming in thanks to the current situation. I called today and got the answering machine. #1, I don't appreciate being lied to about the refund. #2, I really don't like the way I was talked to when I called...arrogant with a complete lack of compassion. Not the first time the guy was like that with me either. The shame of all this is the fact that people who come here do so because they are struggling with things internally. This is the LAST thing any client needs. The crazy part is, the last time I was here I saw another client getting into it with someone at the desk about a similar situation. I was quite surprised, since me experiences were fantastic and I was truly helped, to get through some really difficult situations, including death, molestation, divorce and severe depression. I wanted to die and attempted to take my life. Yes, THAT BAD! These people were so compassionate and helpful. It's hard to swallow the previous ratings. Check out other review sites before making a final decision. I usually post on google reviews and have posted on yelp too. Mario A. I just recently finished my counseling sessions with Corinna Collins after close to a year and am so glad I did. After going through a very difficult time in my life, I had the pleasure of being counseled by Corinna with some issues I was dealing with like grief, anger management and marriage/divorce counseling. Corinna was amazing, very patient, understanding and a great friend. I am not the same person I was a year ago, I am so much better in my life mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our daughter has recently attended counseling sessions at Innovative Alternatives, Inc. We are very pleased with her counselor, Harriet McCune. She is very attentive and professional. She has given our daughter things to work on in between counseling sessions. We look forward to working with Ms. McCune and making progress with our goals. read more

I have had about four sessions at Innovative Alternatives. So far, the actual sessions have been fine, but too early to really review that. My issue is the office staff and billing coordinators. Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I recently noticed an automatic payment taken. They require you to keep a card on file which I understand is for missed appointment, etc. At each visit, I pay with my card out of my wallet (same card they have on file) before service and get a receipt. Because they don't just take the copay payments each visits automatically, I assumed that any payment needed from my card on file would be discussed with me prior. So when I see an automatic payment taken with no explanation or receipt given, I am naturally confused and slightly upset. If I owe something, that is fine, but discuss it with me before taking it out of my account because you don't know what and where my money is already allotted for. Anyway, It took me five separate phone calls to speak with someone about this. Ryan, the billing coordinator was out on vacation and there was no one covering him to assist with issues. I finally spoke to Debbie, the Director of Finance (after multiple calls to the office with my concerns and promises of call backs that were never received). She was initially pleasant and said she would call me back the next day. The next day, I had not yet received a call. I call to speak with Debbie and she tells me Ryan called and left me a voicemail. I check my WORK voicemail and there is a long detailed message from Ryan (very unprofessional to call my work number when that is NOT the number I listed as my contact). I continue to speak with Debbie and she is not interested in hearing my side of things, only to defend the company. They received the wrong copayment amount and therefore I owed a balance. This is fine. But again, pick up the phone and discuss it with me before just taking money out of my account. Even if you have my card information, it is still the considerate, professional, ethical thing to do. That is all I ask. Debbie tried to shame me for not understanding what my EOB was however they also had the wrong information. No apology, nothing...and this is a mental health provider! And you are shaming your clients for not understanding something! When I explained that I don't necessarily understand the EOB information, the excuse was "Well we have over 1100 clients...". I didn't let her finish. I cancelled my upcoming appointment and will find another provider that is more client friendly. read more

This is not a very good place to use as a healthcare provider. Very disorganized, non communicable, and no patient care. Very inconsiderate people considering what kind of health care facility it is. I went for the first visit and was asked for an astronomical amount of money after my insurance had been verified before the intake phone call. You register through computers set up in the office and the information is incorrect and you can not correct it because the information was put in by the staff. After waiting two weeks for my first appointment, I received a phone call an hour before I was to show up to inform me that the counselor was sick and at the urgent care. They have a no show policy where you have to leave a credit card or a deposit of $100 for two no show visits. That policy should go both ways. They rescheduled me to another counselor for later in the day. (The counselor was professional and helpful.) However, when arriving they were having a meeting and no one was available to check me in for the appointment. They just kept having their discussion as if there were not people standing at the sliding window. This of course lasted a while and went into my session time even though I was there 30 minutes early to fill out any paper work or necessary items. Needless to say the "get to know you session with the counselor was rushed because she had another appointment after mine and did not want to go over into the next session time. They were going to sign me up for a program for victims of violence. Needless to say I have not heard from them for two weeks when I know others who got into the program immediately. In all this time I could have had a major crisis and this facility has not been there to provide the services that they advertise to provide. With this kind of discord I would not recommend that anyone give them a chance because you may not receive favorable results. Do yourself a favor and look further for services. read more
