That's the short version of the story. If you care to, read the long version below about my experience with LEHI versus the company I did not hire. I ran out of water at 11 p.m. the Friday before Thanksgiving. Going to the pump house, I found the pressure gage reading zero. The usual pull-up on the pressure switch toggle did not change anything, I looked on internet sites, including YELP, to find local well water system experts to fix whatever was going on. Usually I use Quinns as a repair service but, according to their telephone message, they were available for emergencies only on the weekends. I did not consider this an emergency. Instead, on Saturday morning, I called a well system service that had regular hours on the weekends. The other company: In about an hour after my call, a polite young man arrived. Although very nice, he didn't seem to know what he was doing which did not instill confidence in me about his company's expertise in well system repairs. Instead of diagnosing the problem, he replaced "old looking" parts with new ones which, I guess, is one way to go about it. And he was on his cell phone a lot "with the shop" crew who appeared to be telling him what to do. When his replacement parts didn't solve anything, he suggested that my well might have run out of water despite the fact that for three weeks we had been, and still were, accumulating inches of rain from what the weatherman referred to as atmospheric rivers. The stream below my house was roaring with water in the background. After about an hour and a half of fiddling and replacing parts at the pump house, the other company rep said the pump would have to be pulled from the well. I asked him for an estimate. As he plugged out the figures from his laptop for new pipe, pump, and a number of other parts, I decided I would get a second opinion and could wait until Monday to get it. When I didn't agree immediately to his proposal, the rep removed the new parts he had installed from the pump house telling me he was doing this so the next guy could evaluate the same situation that he had. (Obviously, the old parts did not need replacement.) I paid him $150 for the service call. He emailed my receipt and the quote for the proposed repair. LEHI: On Monday morning I called LEHI based primarily on a YELP review by Lupe M. and the LEHI website. Here was a small family business on its third generation of a family member joining it. This indicated to me years of accumulated expertise in well system repair coupled with longevity and success with its customer base. Before Monday, over the internet, I spent several hours reviewing well system parts, problems, diagnostic methods, and solutions. I was the original owner of the 45 year old well. It was time I learned something about how it worked. The experience with LEHI was 100% different from that with the other company. Within 15 minutes, the problem at the well was diagnosed by the grey bearded LEHI rep and likely family member. (I don't know his name.) Based on my very recent education about well system diagnostics, he was using the correct method to determine whether the pump needed to be pulled. As he showed me, the AMP readings at the pressure switch were in the correct range, the switch was working, but the well water was not being delivered up the well to the pressure tank. Ruling out pressure tank issues, either the pipe down the well or pump or both were defective. The pump needed to be pulled. The LEHI rep said his crew was on another job but could likely be at my place that day and water restored. He gave me a quote for a new pump and pipe off the top of his head, also based on years of experience. It was half the amount of the other company's quote. I agreed to the repair. By 2 p.m. the job was complete and water at the house restored. A younger man (the third generation??) and what appeared to be his female assistant (good for you, girl!) did the work. I also saved $200 off the original quote because the pipe did not need replacing. My recommendation: Save some time. Save some money. Try LEHI.

Drip Drop showed up within scheduled time and got right to work. They installed a backflow device…read moreand replace all 6 zone valves. When done they didn't leave the area very clean. I tried to test the system and found there was no water getting to it. When I contacted them to have the system checked they said they would be out either that day or the next. The next day by 1pm i got tired of waiting around and checked things myself. I found that one of the valves on the backflow was off. This valve was partially buried and barely visible. When I checked the system all of the zones were incorrect. I had to pull all the wires from the controller off of the valves and connect the correct zone to the right valve. I'm not really happy with the quality of work and their not checking to see if things even worked before they left when finishing the job.
