TOTAL Honestly--You Need to Read This…read more July 11, 2023, I called the glass company. Todd answered. He asked me to sent him a photo. The photo was of my entry doors with a 5 foot wide, maybe 9 foot tall beveled glass mounted over my double 8 foot high doors. A huge piece of beveled glass with 2 cracks beginning to run. I was thinking this would be 3,000 dollars or more. Today, one day later, Todd came to my house. When I greeted Todd, I said this is the glass that needs replacing. He immediately told me---I am going to save you a lot of money. Todd said, those are not cracks in your glass. They are wrinkles in the glass tinting. Nothing is wrong with your glass. Todd could have easily told me the replacement cost would have been thousands and I would have done the replacement. it really makes me feel good to know some people are totally honest, even when it stands to cost them a nice profit. They were on time and efficient and replaced several beams in the front and the back of the house in about 7 hours. The crew of 15 were fantastic. They all knew what their job was and they were singing and joking and laughing and working hard to get it accomplished. Although some of the exterior siding cracked off and there were additional cracks in the sheet rock inside, it was expected. There were a couple of breaks in the water pipes that they repaired and they adjusted several of the door latches. Everything was left clean and they hauled off all the debris. I would recommend Ruben's to my friends and neighbors. There is a three-year guarantee for pier and beam foundations.

Rubens Foundation Repair put in 26 more piers in 2014. Then we had to call them back to fix it again in just a few months in 2014. We were given a lifetime warranty to repair the foundation again and the son of the owner came out and measured. I showed him the warranty. He called my husband back to let him know they needed $9000 to put in 22 more piers. In the walls What happened to honoring your warranty? We were not dissappointed! The end result is a kitchen and dining room that more than fulfilled our desires, all brought in on budget. Tim was very good about providing detailed line item descriptions and allowances, and worked with us to save dollars on some line items so that we could upgrade other items. We were quite pleased! About 90%+ of the project was completed ahead of schedule, but styling disagreements with one of his subs, and a related material shortage, caused the overall project to extend well beyond the original time-frame. Rather than allow this to become an even bigger issue, Tim worked diligently with us and the sub to come up with an agreeable solution. We had a great experience with Tim at Fig Tree Construction, and couldn't be happier with the end result! We found Tim to be personable, honest and easy to work with, and always ready to offer his opinion and/or provide options during the process. We reached out to Black Forest Builders immediately (not knowing if they could help or not) because we had used them in 2012 to do some renovations prior to moving in after closing (new granite counter tops in bathrooms, tile back splash in Master bath and rocking the fireplace) and were very pleased with their work. I'm so glad we contacted them quickly as we were able to get started ahead of most. The flood occurred in late Aug. and we were back in by the middle of December - just in time for Christmas. None of our neighbors were back in their homes until Spring and/or Summer. Even though we had tear-out, drying and mold treatment to do first, BFB were "on it" quickly with getting the plans together so orders could be placed for lumber, doors, carpet and other things before a back-log occurred in the Houston area creating major delays for other homeowners. They were also very helpful in recommending some improvements for the rebuild to bring out 13 year old home up-to-date; building a customized Master closet, pull-out shelving throughout the kitchen, creating even more cabinets out initially wasted space in the kitchen and baths, installing a pocket-door in one jack and jill bath to eliminate a swing door cluster, etc. Black Forest Building exceeded all of our expectations.
