The paramedics that arrived when she pressed her life alert button took her to the hospital for tests, where they discovered she had Shingles. After she was released from the hospital my siblings and I arranged for her to get rehab at Menorah Life. We had heard good things about this facility. They took good care of Mom. Shingles meant private room and every nurse, caregiver, etc. had to don fresh sterile scrubs whenever they entered the room. My only complaint is that they somehow categorized Mom as having dentures, and it took several days to straighten them out so she could be served real food instead of mush. Mom is the world's worst patient. She complains about everything CONSTANTLY. After 2 weeks, they released her. Not because she had completed rehab and done her exercises to be stronger on her feet, but because she refuses to exercise and there was nothing they can do for a recalcitrant patient. I give full marks for the staff. It takes a special kind of person to stay cheerful and helpful when you get nothing back but complaints and abuse. Highly recommended!

It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there are so many activities for the residents. My friend seems very happy here. After being here 30 days, she could not tell me one thing she does not like. She likes it all! When I walked into the dining area to visit my friend, I walked into an ice cream social. My friend and one of the other residents asked the staff member serving up ice cream if I could have a cup. She gave me one, and it was delicious. My friend showed me her room. It's small and cozy and she has her own bathroom. We sat outside talking, and it was a beautiful day. She showed me the lake behind the facility, and told me she loves watching the ducks. As we talked, a couple of musicians pulled up to the front of Lake House and unloaded their equipment. Within 30 minutes we heard them playing in the dining area. They were great! I look forward to seeing my friend often in the future. I'm so glad she's here!

The staff--from Abby to Grace and the entire team in every cottage--deserve recognition for their attentiveness, compassion, and support toward both residents and family members. The cottages are consistently clean and well maintained. Meals are nutritious, balanced, and served on time every day. Even when I was away for the summer, I felt confident knowing my mother was in good hands. The staff communicate regularly about residents' health and behavior, sharing both positive updates and any concerns promptly. My only suggestion for improvement would be to ensure better management of personal clothing items, as they were occasionally misplaced or taken by other residents. The State has closed two cottages due to the infestation and poor conditions (full of roaches). The director, Dawn Grady, is a horrible human being who only cares about filling the place and residents are dying due to neglect. I regret sending my mother to Pacifica Bellair for the 8 months that she resided there, ending up with a huge hematoma that bled for two weeks. One of the residents, a little old lady that lived in the same cottage than my mother, was sent to the hospital with maggots in her legs and private parts. She died in the hospital. This place SHOULD BE CLOSED and Dawn Grady should not be working with our fragile loved ones.

My Mom lived at Addington Place for 4 years, two in Independent Living and two in Assisted Living…read more I could not be happier about the care she received. All of the staff from housekeeping to the facility director, Justin Mock, were caring, competent and supportive. During Covid when the facility was on lockdown, they kept the residents isolated and safe and families were notified of current status on a regular basis. There are many daily activities in both IL and AL to keep the residents busy. For IL residents, there are trips offsite to restaurants, movies and other events, in addition to shops and banks. I especially want to thank the caregivers in Assisted Living who treated my mother as if she were their mother. I highly recommend Addington Place to any prospective resident.

I toured approximately 10 places in the area and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The apartment is perfect. The staff has been amazing, caring, organized, supportive. The facility is clean and well kept. The grounds are beautiful. It's the perfect size not too big or too small - easy to navigate. The other residents are also very lovely and friendly. I am a nurse practitioner and have high standards, have also rounded professionally at long term/assisted living facilities and I am very very impressed with this one!
