This was in a very nice air conditioned, newly remodeled auditorium. He is my second grandchild to graduate from this school, we still have one more to go and a handful of nieces & nephews who also attend. So overall we have been coming here to school performances and Holiday shows since my eldest grandson started here in 2011. He is now in High School at Mater Dei. I was a bit reticent when they started going to this school because I would have preferred them to attend a Catholic private school. Because we are Catholic. But as usual time has proven me wrong. The wonderful academic excellence and innovation, that this school provides has showed me that, the right choice was made. I see how happy and well rounded my grandkids have become. They are into sports, music; one plays the cello incredibly well. It seems that this school places a high priority on individual achievements, probably due to the 13:1 student teacher ratio. All of this with the added benefit of providing a moral education along with the academic one. The school is very well maintained, and the staff is incredible. Grandparents are treated as special guests; we even have a special day when the kids perform just for us. So, in my humble opinion this is one of, if not the finest private pre-school to 8th grade school in Chula Vista. I am a fan and I guess always have been. I highly recommend this illustrious private school!

These teachers pray for their students, they take the time to make sure things are prepared for their students. And the director and assistant director or wonderful. This is a wonderful, safe and healthy environment for any preschool family from any form of background. One thing I loved about this school when I first started working there was even if you don't believe or aren't a Christian, this school will still accept you. And that to me, shows their true hearts.

Diegueno Country School is the best school in the world. We moved from San Francisco to Southern CA…read morewhen my daughter was entering third grade. She was very behind the other students at Diegueno, but the teachers were so patient with her, and even met with her before school each week to help her get caught up. When my daughter graduated from Diegueno she told me "Mom when I first went to Diegueno, I was the dumbest kid in the class, but now I am one of the smartest ones!" I am not saying that either of those statements that she made are necessarily true, but the amazing teachers at Diegueno helped my daughter, improve and grow, and now her confidence in her abilities are through the roof. She has since moved on to high school, but one thing that is interesting is that the kids from her current school who went to Diegueno for elementary school, are excelling at math and public speaking in particular. My daughter even won the award for being the best at Algebra at her new school, because Diegueno prepared her so well, and instilled a natural curiosity and love of learning in her. You will not find a better school than Diegueno Country School.

They all want to talk to me. They all want to tell me happenings of the day. Dcs is location reminds me of a treehouse and you will have to be okay with the classrooms being a bit smaller than other schools. But they make it work somehow. My kids are happy. I have seen academic leaps and bounds. I used to make sure the kids had two tutors. I have now stopped the tutoring and put my child's education into the care of the teachers. The kids are much more willing to try hard to finish homework without too much prying from me. Whatever system they have. It works. And it is working wonders. When you take a tour take a peek at what the kids are working on and you will have an idea of the academic excellence they strive for. Just book a tour.

My daughter has been at PAE since 8th grade (she's going into Senior year 2025/2026 school year)…read moreand this school has been amazing for her. She's dyslexic and had struggled in public school with teachers that didn't have the bandwidth to work with her and help her learn. That caused severe social anxiety that made it harder for her to focus... it was a negative spiral. The teachers at Pacific Academy really took the time to get to know her and appreciate everything that she does well while pushing her to be her very best even in areas like math that are harder for her. She now has a 3.8 GPA, is taking AP classes and applying to out of state 4 year colleges with B.S. programs in zoology. She loves to read, leads a D&D group, plays tennis, is on the student council (ASB). This is a kid who struggled to read at all in the 2nd grade. The school is really small. Sometimes I worry that it's too small. But it's a big wide world out there and she does theatre with a different group and volunteers at a rescue and has friends from her co-op charter school (that closed and also didn't have a high school). In the end, the kids at the school are kind, most of them are a little quirky too and above all there is a strong culture of acceptance. If your child is a little different, artsy, smart but not thriving in a public school, socially anxious, or driven to succeed and not being challenged, you should totally check out Pacific Academy. They take a 1:1 interest in each student' success, they are flexible and yet they hold their students to high standards. It's small but mighty. We love it.

The older kids openly bullied the younger ones, often in front of the teacher, with no consequences. According to my child, teachers were passive-aggressive toward each other, which created a tense and unhealthy atmosphere. The principal also controls what teachers are allowed to tell parents, so you may not get the full truth about what your child experiences during the school day. I would not recommend this school.
