Chanel at the front desk gave us such a warm and friendly welcome, and the butterfly pea drink was a fun, unique treat. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing view. Comfy beds, thick luxe towels, Nespresso machine, and the ice machine has crunch pebble ice!!! I love pebble ice! The pool area was the highlight. The tropical saltwater lagoon with small tropical blue fish was really cool, and the heated pool with a waterfall and waterslide was a huge hit with my husband. lol. The hospitality team made use feel so valued during our stay. The nightly turn down service w/ aromatherapy spray, chocolates, and a light cleaning is so nice to come back to at the end of our night. The complimentary WiFi for Marriott members is always a great perk. On our second day, when we logged on and we received a prompt asking about our stay so far, we asked a question and they certainly went above and beyond and delivered. Thanks so much to management/customer relations!! The entire hospitality team, including our kind housekeeper, Steven at the restaurant, the breakfast host/servers, and staff who delivered items up to our room, all provided such wonderful service. She immediately became aggressive and told me to "fix my face or fuck off" . I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and ignored them and began to enjoy the show when suddenly her husband comes over to me, leans right in my face and tells me "Do you have a problem? Because I'll give a problem, cunt." He then threatens me and my family and says he can't wait follow me after the dinner and he's going to slit my throat. Obviously I was extremely distressed. I left the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager but absolutely NOTHING was done! I was told I could leave ( no refund on meal that was $500 for three people) or return to my table where I felt afraid and intimidated. I returned to my table because we had paid for the evening. But I was so upset and did not enjoy my evening at all. I felt sick. Why is it ok for a man to threaten a woman at the Hilton? He should have been removed for threatening me. I asked to call the police because I wanted to pursue the situation but the Hilton asked me not to call. I agreed because I thought they would deal with this man and his family but they did nothing! In retrospect I should have called the police because what this man did was not ok! Do not stay or dine at Hilton Surfers Paradise because they will do NOTHING to protect you against aggressive people. I will NEVER patronise them again and, as a local, I will advise everyone to avoid this

All we listened to was motorbikes dragging along the strip all night. When we tried to move, management blew us off. Next, we discovered that our room had no electricity. Then no TV. Most calls to reception were ignored. The family in 1302 made so much noise they could have powered the entire building with their energy. I've been screwed before, but never this hard. As another unhappy guest said, "Welcome to the Inn of the Damned!"

This was my second visit to the Gold Coast in QLD in the past 10 years. This time, I actually…read morestayed in Benowa at Royal Pines Resort. It's deceiving at first when you drive into the property. The entrance is separated by a lower section of outdoor and indoor parking. Access is relatively easy from the parking garage to the elevator and takes you directly to the lobby level for check-in. Check-in was relatively easy and the front desk staff is friendly as well as helpful towards answering questions I had of the facility. The fitness center is not 24 hours but from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. still works in my schedule. The fitness area is separately divided from the cardio space, free weights, a group exercise room with punching/kicking stands, and a room for sport performance drills. Housekeeping does a fabulous job and the food service is excellent. The only issue is when outside groups show up as they did on a Wednesday evening (local high school prom) and the lobby section/bar area was a madhouse, where you couldn't even get through to other areas of the lobby due to the sheer volume of people and the lack of organization to create space safely. The rooms are very clean, modern, and the beds are comfortable. Overall, I would highly consider staying here if given another opportunity in this area of the Gold Coast region in the Queensland.

Funnily enough, it wasn't too bad because the resort is a while away from the main part of Surfers were all the hooligans were. The resort is currently renovating the Spa so for you spa-goers it will be re-opening in December this year 2013 and from what I've seen, is going to be pretty damn nice. The rooms are big, we got a golf course view, saw a few weddings happening and the place was packed for a Saturday night. Some sort of school formal was on too, which was exciting to weave my kids through. The lobby is very open and almost looks funny, but there were no line-ups or delays. The only thing I could fault this resort with was the parking. Although we were lucky enough to find ourselves some parks with all the events happening, there is only a small undercover area and outdoor area to park so many times on the weekend hotel guests may not even be able to get a park there. This is a very popular resort, and it's a nice one too, for RACQ members it's only $166 a night for a room with 2 double beds... which is a bit of a steal for a place like this.

They want you to "pay for for premium Wi-Fi" which is ridiculous. Nobody gets wifi in their rooms. I had a lot of work to do so I ended up walking to a nearby hotel to use their wifi and business center. The kettle in our room was broken, and at one point they took our towels to clean and when we called for new ones, they asked if we could wait til morning because they were short staffed.

Absolutely every staff member we encountered, from reception to concierge, valet and the restaurant at breakfast were in all honesty, as lovely as you could imagine. The InterContinental has truly world class service. The resort itself is huge, covers an expanse that could be considered its own suburb, and picturesque to say the least, but for those of us who have trouble walking any distance, you're only a phone call away from a friendly, happy staff member and his limo sized golf cart to take you wherever you need to go. And that includes a small local shopping precinct packed with shops and restaurants at the marina. The rooms are clean, well-appointed and reasonably fresh, with everything you need on hand for a nice relaxing stay, or just a phone call to concierge away. Sadly, we were only staying for one night while attending a party in nearby Paradise Point and did not get a chance to try the restaurant for dinner, which we've heard is quite superb. We were however, lucky enough to enjoy an incredible buffet breakfast with all the trimmings, including real barista made coffee (if you're a lover of coffee, this will mean the world to you) and a lovely omelette made to my personal choice by the skilled chef attending. I have to say, this one night getaway has left us with a very favourable memory and now, we just need an excuse to come back. Very highly recommended.

The rooms were nice and large and I was fortunate enough to have one with a nice view of the water. The business facility was fairly nice. The food at the event was good. Service was excellent. The most fun was riding around the resort in the golf carts. The bell staff was absolutely outstanding. The resort is accompanied with a golf course and with what we would call in the US condos. The property also includes a shoppping village which looked quite nice. I would love to visit again on vacation to really get the full enjoyment out of such a lovely resort.
