She has helped me rethink some very tricky design challenges in my older home. For example, I was not liking my dining room but couldn't figure out exactly why as I liked each piece but just it just didn't look right all together somehow. Missy brilliantly suggested the light fixture was too small, unremarkable and hung too high over the table. She suggested that changing it to something more dramatic that would make more of a statement would help bring the room together. I had never thought of the light fixture as being a problem. Really I had never thought of it at all, but sure enough once I made that change it was a dramatic improvement and led the way to me changing out one of the main pieces of art, getting rid of two side chairs and a putting a different side table in that looked good with the new modern chandelier. I love my dining room now! It's my eclectic style, but it's cohesive, and I never would have gotten there without Missy's consultation. She also just has great taste and such extensive experience that she has the perfect "eye", which allows her to quickly and with great accuracy nail the paint color or tile size that will look best, or warn you away from the problems you might run into with a particular fabric or an uncomfortable chair depth or a rug that's too small for the space.. She is also extremely practical in thinking about what will work with pets and kids. Missy really knows her stuff. It is great to see her getting so many accolades and industry recognition lately. With brightly painted pink walls (swoon!), they carry a fabulous selection of LAFCO and Voluspa candles, as well as custom furniture, Michael Aram frames, Trina Turk pillows, serious cool art, and a bed hanging from the ceiling. What more could a person possibly want?! Laura U is definitely not Target or Ikea, so be prepared to shell out for the hipness. Laura U's primary gig is interior design. If they design anything like the decor in the boutique, you're in for a wild and contemporary, but very tastefully put together ride. I'm planning to meet with them about helping me redesign my home spaces, so I'll update this review post-meeting, but in the meantime, get yourself to Laura U and buy a wicked new something!

Stephanie was instrumental in assisting us with locating and making selections of designer materials - saving us countless hours. She was very attentive to our ideas and comments. We both love design; therefore this was very important to us. She is great at interpreting an idea and making it happen! Stephanie proved to be a great mediator between husband and wife, between homeowner and contractor, and at times, between contractor and subs. Her involvement was extremely helpful to my husband and I in keeping the construction ball rolling. Her soft approach to problem-solving is truly a gift. With our vision and Stephanie's input and expertise, we truly achieved the "wow" factor and now live in a showcase home. Every employee that I encountered offered assistance and was so incredibly warm and gracious. I was invited to explore the entire store even places that I would not have ventured on my own. They have an amazing selection of really cool house decor, rugs, pictures, knick knack paddy whacks. They also have free design fridays once a month where you can meet with their designers.
