So I came into Altamonte Springs IDC to have a diamond that was passed down to me set in a band. The diamond in question is not a tiny stone by any means, but the associate who was helping me said that there was no way to get said stone set in another band. That is was just not possible. Mind you I was ready to drop 3K on just the band. He proceeded to say I just needed to buy a whole new ring and started showing me rings................. Went to Jared right down the street, picked out a band and had the stone set, and I now have the complete ring in hand... this was Saturday July 25th today is Tuesday July 28th....... This place is a joke. According to them they are just like the diamond district in NY, because they are diamond "wholesalers". The best part of this whole ordeal was when the guy gave me a price on a diamond, swore he couldn't go any lower, even whipped out his calculator to show me how he would lose money selling at the price I was asking. Since they price match, I already had 2 GIA certs for comparable diamonds at $3,000 less. Boy if you could have seen his face. After some back and forth with his manager he said they would match, but wanted a non refundable deposit to even get the diamond in the store. My fiance and I went to IDC after having mediocre experiences at other jewelry stores in the mall. Though we were on a budget, the selection choices in the other stores were so limited that they practically scoffed at us when we told them what our budget was. We decided to take our chances at IDC. When we first walked in we were relatively intimidated with all the security (we don't buy jewelry often). However, the moment we walked in, Cliff immediately greeted us with warmth despite the fact that we were relatively young looking. When we told him that we were looking for my wedding band and what our budget was, he continued to work with us from beginning to end without even batting an eye or changing his attitude. In fact, he worked very hard to find exactly the ring I was looking for and never left us for a second. It's truly amazing to me how much of a difference customer service can make in anyone's experience and Cliff was amazing! We did end up buying a band and it was exactly within our budget and what we were looking for. The selection was amazing and they had so many options. I can honestly say that in the past I had dealings with IDC and it wasn't the best back in 2002 but recently I decided to give them another chance and I can honestly say that their service has grown off the charts, there were things that were being offered for Mother's Day that they do not carry in a store and the store owner was able to actually obtain it for me and gave me a discount because it was not already in the store. I also bought a necklace for my lady friend whom I adore and miraculously it was exactly what I was looking for and extremely affordable with the same guarantee that they offer on their higher-end jewelry. I have bought three items from them this year one I am still paying on so once I finish paying that off it will be for items I bought this year in the last five months. I am extremely Frugal and expect high quality and service for my hard-earned money and I can honestly say I do receive that at IDC. Unfortunately you do not have all of the facts straight, and I think your response is insulting and just affirms the poor service we experienced at the Altamonte location. 2. Originally we were shown 2 diamonds -- stating your "salesperson brought out a few diamonds" is not true as we were only shown 2. I was never told about the "diamond wall" therefore how would I know to ask about that? I would have expected your business to provide me with those details. Your sales associate walked us around the store and showed us numerous ring settings, never once mentioned a diamond wall with 168 loose diamonds, then proceeded to only show us 2 diamonds--that would have been an opportune time to mention the 168 loose diamonds. Out of the 2 we were shown I clearly liked one over the other because one of the diamonds was a yellowish color, and I did not want that. Since this was the first time I had ever picked out a diamond it would have been nice to know about the diamond wall, but when I am shown two diamonds then asked which one I like, I chose which of the two I liked best. I was obviously hesitant because of the diamond's price even though I said I liked it, so if your associate had to ask "twice if I was sure" that would have been an ideal time to mention your diamond wall that likely had a similar diamond for a better price. (I will mention that this associate who originally showed us various settings was very friendly. That was the only positive experience I had in dealing with the Altamonte location. She was the only associate that I found to be respectful, while the other associates we dealt with were rather rude.) 3. I only "affirmed" it was the diamond I wanted because I was not aware of your diamond wall. So if you are confused about that, imagine my confusion learning you have 168 loose diamonds in the store I could have looked at but somehow no one informed me of that. 4. The diamond had the same specifications that I purchased from Ritani vs. what I originally found at your store as far as color, cut, clarity, and carat (basically similar to the carat, I doubt it is easy to find an exact match for the dimensions). So I think your website is misleading and maybe you should include in your price match policy that if the diamond differs by inclusions, crystals, feathers, etc that your policy does not apply--side note I took your policy to mean imperfections were included as a part of clarity grade and not a separate determining factor for determining whether or not to honor your policy. My diamond vs your diamond had the same clarity grade, although different imperfections (because what diamond would have the exact same imperfections?). I highly doubt it is likely to find two completely identical diamonds, therefore either your policy to price match is either 1) nearly impossible to ever happen or 2) your website should be updated to include fine print elaborating on exactly what specifications need to match in order for you to honor that policy. 5. We wanted to buy the setting and diamond under your interest free promotion because that would have been a good deal. I actually did mention the financing promotion. I did not feel the need to elaborate on specifics since we only purchased a setting from your store, and the interest free financing doesn't matter to me for just a setting. 6. Your salesperson tried to sell us an UNCERTIFIED diamond that day we returned. Regardless of whether or not you had "multiple diamonds" earlier that day to show us that apparently were sold, that did nothing for us when we showed up. The right thing to do in that case would have been to offer to show us your 168 loose diamond wall at that time since we still were not informed about that (until just now) or just admit we found a good deal with the Ritani diamond rather than trying to discourage our purchase of it by making insulting comments about the imperfections (it was the same clarity as the original diamond you showed us so to the naked eye there are no visual imperfections in my opinion) read more

I ordered my wedding band for my ceremony which was out of town. Upon arrival to pick it up to my dismay it was the wrong band. So I was forced to take the incorrect band because I didn't want to be without one for my ceremony, and there was no time to exchange it. I was told that I could exchange the ring for the correct one when I got back into town, but wasn't told that I couldn't hold on to the band I had till the new one came in. So I'm a newlywed with no wedding band to wear and have to wait for only God knows how long till it comes in. I was never offered any sort of compensation for this blunder either. Normally I do not write reviews, I understand that people make mistakes and things happen; however, I don't want anyone to go through what I have. This is suppose to be an easy, happy, and joyous experience and it was everything but that. The staff at IDC has no communication between each other and especially with the jeweler. After purchasing a ring and deciding to change the type of diamond and size of the ring, it was a complete nightmare. Taking my now fiancé into the store to make sure we had the correct ring size and the diamond set exactly how she wanted it, they said no problem and the ring would be ready in a few days. I call the morning it's suppose to be ready to confirm it will be completed that day, to find out they were going to size it to the wrong size and setting. I go to the store and speak with the jeweler for 15 minutes explaining what I want. A few hours later I get a call that the ring is ready! But once again, we were severely disappointed. The diamond was set incorrectly and the ring size is not correct. To top this all off, my fiancé birthday is tomorrow and still doesn't have a ring that we are happy with. It's frustrating that I spent so much time, effort, and money to get the perfect ring, but I npicked the wrong store to get it from.... After writing this review, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the response. I received a note that one of the owners of IDC would contact me about my experience and provide assistance in making it right. I'm not sure I could recommend the Altamonte store due to my experience; however, I was informed to go to the Millenia location and they would fix the ring. The experience was a complete 360. It has been a little over a year since my girlfriend bought my first Rolex, this is a summary of what transpired after the purchase. first night after receiving the watch from her I set the time, wound it up and after a few hours we noticed the watch wasn't running so I called IDC in Altamonte where the watch was purchased, I explained the situation to the sales rep that picked up he gave me some instructions on how to get it to run again, this worked, I was able to get the watch to run again. The next day we went to IDC in winter park to get it sized, a gentleman wearing an AP Royal Oak helped us offered us some water and sized my watch in the side room, when he came back out I explained that last night the watch had stopped working and he explained to me that this was normal behavior for a watch that hadn't been worn in a while, but after winding it 40-50 times the watch will run as long as I wind it before putting it on, keep it in a winder, or wear it daily but that it shouldn't stop after about 48 hours of no movement/winding. We then left the store I was satisfied with his response and at the time the watch felt comfortable on my wrist. later that day I noticed the watch had stopped working again while we were at the Florida mall, while at the mall I decided to stop into Mayors I explained to them the watch had stopped for the second time in less than 24 hours and I also asked if they could adjust the size one hole over as throughout the day it was getting uncomfortable little by little, at Mayors they told me that the watch would need to be sent in for service in regards to the movement stopping but as far as the adjustment to the band they were eager to help they adjusted the pin one hole over, when I was putting on the watch the Mayors rep told me that whoever adjusted the buckle beforehand had bent the edge of the buckle and that it would need replacing which would have been $700. we called the credit card company and started a dispute for the replacement buckle a few days later we received a call from the general manager from the IDC in Altamonte he told us to bring the watch in they would look at the movement and the buckle to settle the dispute. The next day we went to the Altamonte store asked to speak to the GM and we were greeted by him he was very nice explained that the watch had a 1-year warranty and that he would have it looked at by a watch maker the company relies on I accepted, and the dispute had been settled. A few weeks later the GM from the Altamonte store calls us to say the watch is ready for pick up we go to pick up the watch again they were very pleasant they gave us the watch and explained that his watchmaker looked at the movement fixed the issue and was also able to straighten out the buckle again. A few days later I noticed the buckle was very loose and would allow the diving extension to slip in and out freely, again I called the GM and he told me to bring the watch back in, so they could have the watchmaker look at it once more I agreed, and he sent it off. A week we picked the watch up from Idc, we were told the watchmaker fixed the issue but I told him the issue had not been fixed since the diving extension was still slipping in and out freely the GM then says that it is because I have smaller than normal wrists and that I need to get a custom band, at this point I was extremely upset that he tells me it was fixed when it clearly was not, so I called Rolex at the Florida mall they tell me that the submariner bracelet can fit very small wrists and very large wrists as well and that the only way I would not be able to fit the band is if my wrists were abnormally small which mind you was not the case. I then called the IDC located in Winter park because I was displeased with Altamonte. The GM at in Winter park spoke to me and told me to contact one of the head office. When I called the head office I spoke to Brian he told me that he would contact the Altamonte location to have them ship my watch to the head office and they would have their watchmaker look at it and fix the issue with the band. A few weeks later we get a call from the Altamonte store saying the watch is ready for pick up. I go to pick up the watch notice that they replaced one of the pins with a brass pin, so it did not match the stainless like the original pin did, I mentioned it to the rep at IDC she told me they would have to send it back to get the correct pin installed and that it would take another two weeks or so. I told her I was tired of not having my watch and that I would just take it to Rolex. I went to Rolex the same day explained the situation and the sales rep took my watch said that the pin that IDC used was a generic spring bar and replaced it with a genuine matching spring bar made by Rolex free of charge. In December of 2017 I had noticed a small smudge INSIDE of the watch on the number 5 of the date wheel I called IDC in Altamonte and they told me the watch was out of warranty by a few read more

I think IDC is a great company. My fiancé went to the Altamonte location knowing quite literally nothing about diamonds or rings. Larry was his salesman and was insanely helpful, my fiancé said they must have walked around the store for hours and when he left he felt like an expect on rings. Larry was patient and was essential in helping him find the perfect ring (I'm a very simple woman who likes antique looking rings). After our engagement my fiancé went to pick my ring back up from having it sized, when he brought it home I was a little disappointed as there was quite a noticeable gouge on the inside of the band (maybe from being sized) that I could feel catching on my finger. We took the ring back again and didn't even have to point it out to Larry as he said he could see and feel it as well, while inspecting it he also noticed one of the baguettes was loose so we left it there and was told to pick it up on Thursday after 6. Up until now we had been quite happy with the service but on Thursday when my fiancé went to pick it up he was informed that the jeweler hadn't even started it, while I understand he may have been backed up I believe maybe a phone call could have prevented what happened next. My fiancé asked if he could just wait while they did it, instead of explaining that it may take a while, the staff said sure, I believe it was rushed and consequently a poor job was done. When he brought it home I was admittedly pretty upset, the gouge was still there, and the jeweler "fixed" the wrong baguette. By fix, I mean he just added a little blob of gold to a part of my ring that had no prongs in the setting..it was very disappointing to know that he didn't even care enough to check and make sure he was even fixing the right one, but also that he did such a poor job fixing the wrong one. I would assume it would be reset rather than just adding an unattractive extra blob to my ring. To add insult to injury of not fixing the original gouge from sizing now there were an insane amount of nics and scratches around the baguette (I assume from clamping it down) All in all I do believe IDC is a wonderful company but after several visits to remedy the situation we ended up taking it to the Winter Park location where we didn't even have to point out any of the issues where as their staff could see them immediately. read more

My experience at IDC Altamonte was very enjoyable and quite stress-free. This, in my opinion, was solely due to the sales person that we worked with named Larry. From the moment my wife (at the time, soon-to-be fiancée) and I walked in, we were welcomed and attended to promptly. Walking into a diamond store for the first time comes with a mixture of emotions that could be overwhelming. For me, it was a little nerve-wracking, but I can honestly say that was laid to rest when we were attended to by Larry. Larry was laid-back and not at all pushy, which was comforting and key in building a rapport. The impressive part was how completely professional he was throughout the process even though, at times, it felt like I was talking to a friend, which is what made the process less daunting and actually enjoyable. Over the following week or two I made a couple trips to IDC and can honestly say that the welcoming and pressure-free vibe was not uniform throughout all the employees. I actually left the store after speaking and sitting with a different associate, due to the nature of said associate's approach to me. She helped us locate the matching ring for my engagement ring and find one that my fiance had been eyeing. Both of our rings had to be ordered from other stores, and came in quickly and right as quoted! The prices were very fair, even lower than what we had been quoted previously. She made sure to follow up with us through phone calls, and even a hand written card after we picked up our rings! I had a lady named Minnie Deleon take a look at my 2 rings and offered me $405 for both of the rings. The rings I took were very good quality diamonds and she basically was telling me a scrap price. They could make a lot more money off the rings. She also told me they wouldn't sell the rings in that store because it wasn't white enough anyone with a brain knows it's all about the cut of the stone as well as clarity and they have no flaws visible. They don't even bother tell you how much the rings are really worth. What they seem to really care about is to rip you off and give you barely anything what the rings are worth. I walked out of there as soon as she offered me $405. Big waste of time if you want to sell better off on eBay or Craigslist. Don't go here to sell rings unless you want to get ripped off. They don't even tell you the 4 Cs of the items you sell so that you won't know the real worth of the item. My rings alone weighed 11.8 grams of 14kt gold. read more
