We have had an excellent experience at IMS and are very glad we made the decision to enroll here. Mrs. Ranee and the staff are kind, caring, attentive and prioritize the children's learning and development free from distraction. We enrolled our first child here as a three year old and plan to keep her here through Kindergarten at least. We have already enrolled our second child as well as soon as she is old enough to attend. Many schools label themselves as Montessori schools, but this school actually truly implements the principles and practices of a Montessori program because the headmistress was trained directly by a direct student of Maria Montessori. One can walk into the classroom at any time and see the evidence of a true Montessori program from the students. They are working and learning at their own pace independently with the guidance and support of the teachers. Everything in the classroom is child friendly and is a learning tool for the children to practice and learn from. My own child has made excellent academic progress in reading and math concepts, as well as learning science, geography/topography, language and culture. As a four year old she is reading simple books, writing words and basic sentences, writing her numbers through 150, and brings home maps that she has drawn, counts in Arabic and in Spanish, sings songs in Italian and Hindi, and asks me questions about bones that I have to google the answers for. Mrs. Ranee really cares that the children make progress. She always lets me know how I can help my child at home, and met with me individually to teach me how to help teach my child to read in the Montessori way at home. Mrs. Ranee continuously has different guests from different backgrounds (academic, career, culture, language) and speak to the children or do demonstrations. We highly value the technology-free learning environment supported by the excellent manners and behavior the school has fostered. We also very much appreciate the community of diverse international parents who speak many different languages, are highly educated, and are highly invested in a bright future for their children. Additionally, several staff have been there for several years and there is a low-turnover rate of staff overall, so our children are benefitting from experienced and content staff. To say we are content with the school and all it has to offer our children is an understatement, and we intend to stay here for as long as possible. read more

I knew immediately upon meeting Ms. Ranee and the staff that the International Montessori School was a warm, welcoming, excellent learning environment for my children. We were new to the area back in 2006 and I looked at multiple schools; however, IMS provided the specialized learning environment and love and caring for the children that I was looking for. Not only did my children receive an amazing pre-school and Kindergarten education at IMS, but I also felt completely supported as a parent dealing with the struggles of raising young children. IMS provided an environment for my children to excel academically and learn in ways that were unique to each child by Ms. Ranee and the IMS staff. It also provided a diverse cultural environment and life long friends for not only my children but my husband and I as well. Our oldest was accepted as a direct admit into the Krannert School of Management and the Larsen Leaders Academy at Purdue University. He is a now a junior and a member of the Rising Professionals group and the President of the Purdue Cooperative Council this year. Our middle daughter was accepted into the prestigious College of Agriculture for the Animal Sciences program at Purdue University and is a freshman this year. The youngest is now a sophomore in high school and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I strongly believe that the academics and life skills our children learned in their formative years at the International Montessori School gave them the edge to be successful young adults. Words cannot express how much IMS means to our family. We have three young children, all of whom attended IMS. Each one of them has flourished in their own unique way. The environment and culture at IMS bring out the best in young minds. The children are seen, heard, and nurtured in ways that allow them to grow, explore, and challenge themselves. The curriculum is so well-organized, thoughtfully constructed, and incredibly well-rounded. Children not only develop the basic fundamentals of reading, writing, and math but they also develop a deep appreciation for the arts, culture, co-existence, and creative thinking. We learned so much about parenthood through our experience at IMS and so much about our own children. I can't say enough about the teachers and staff at IMSI! Our son transferred to IMSI from another Montessori program 2 years ago. The difference is night and day! Had we known how great this school was, we would have started him there from the very beginning! They encourage his learning. Challenge him. IMSI cultivates his creativity and his desire to jump knee-deep into new cultures, languages, and experiences. Each day he's so excited to share something new he's learned, and though I hate to admit it, sometimes I'm learning things I never knew from him! Our child began attending International Montessori School when he was 3 years old. We were so pleased with the quality of education he received that we decided to stay there until he graduated from Kindergarten just this past year. Our child was constantly learning new things and he enjoyed very much sharing with us his new found knowledge about writing, Science, Math, countries, languages, artists, cultures, to name a few. We have attended the International Montessori School for the past 11 years with our four children and this school has been the best parenting advice we ever received! The best experience and development you can get in the Indianapolis/Carmel area for early education. My older son went there for few years, and ended up in the Gifted/Talented class in public school afterwards. It teaches personal curiosity, discipline, caring, compassion, excitement about learning, public speaking, critical thinking, proper manners and much more! The principal is a model Montessori principal. Extremely passionate about kids and education, and strikes an amazing balance between firmness and love. Kids love her and listen to her! The school gives a unique immersive inter-cultural experience, with very high diversity which is well harnessed to expose the children to many languages and cultures. It has a feel of an international small community! We placed our second child there as soon as he was at age, and the third will follow suit! I am PhD scientist in Pharmaceutical Industry. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful experience my daughter had at this school. We waited until she started kindergarten, and despite only spending one year there, she made significant progress. This is the best you will find on the Northside of Indianapolis in pre-k and kindergarten education. Ms. Ranae is the heart of the school. She is the reason it is so incredible. My son learned Chinese, Spanish, and French language. He also learned to have beautiful handwriting while listening to great composers . The school has children eat on plates with table clothes all together as a community at lunchtime. The exposure to the world of great artists, musicians, as well as international dance is not something that is found anywhere else. The cultural aspects set the mood for an amazing learning experience in an extremely loving environment. My daughter attended IMS for about 3 years from the age of 3. The wonderful thing about IMS is that it not only develops academic skills according to the Montessori philosophy. It helps children to understand the principles of things and to love the act itself. My daughter loves writing and reading. Teachers have been able to control her interest and motivation and she is now able to read Grade 2 target books with ease. And not only that, she understands the fun and importance of reading. This review may not do full justice to IMS. This was one of the best schools our kids have attended. All positive. IMS has the most structured, student centered curriculum. While the kids move forward at their own pace under montessori setting, IMS teachers support kids tirelessly to bring out full potential from them. IMS employs first class educators and utilizes tried and true Montessori methods with an emphasis on a global education.
