The repair and install was completed well under the predicted time. If you go on any retailers website that sells the parts needed, they totaled out at $9.00. The company did call me and gave me their explanation as to why they charge what they charge for the parts. They don't have the buying power of the big box guys, I am paying for the expertise of the service technician (isn't that why I was charged $115.00 for labor?) and I am paying to assure that the service technician has all the parts on his truck in the event that they are needed. Really? THAT is your reasoning? I have talked to contractors, all agree that their explanation is ridiculous (their wording was a little more aggressive than that). When the Wayne Dalton representative contacted me, the first thing she said was, "Well I wish you wouldn't have posted that review on the internet (Google)." My response, "Well I wish I was taken advantage of by your company and charged $150.00 for parts that cost 9 bucks." A slight increase over what the big box guys charge is understandable but their increase is completely unethical, out of line and flat out robbery. Let it be known that I complimented the staff on their service and help and I did pay my bill in full. I am NOT looking for any compensation and I told WD that. Taking advantage of a consumer is not right and it is getting out of hand with companies. How did she end the call? "Well I guess we agree to disagree."
