It was busy inside so not sure if they locked up early to tend to remaining patrons or if they were having a private event. We came back the next day & gave it another go. We loved the setting and the location. They also have Foxy Sushi inside, (potentially) a nice change from pizza but we didn't try it. We ordered 2 brews & paid cash. Both were good. There was one occupied table & we were at the bar top. The barkeep told us about the tours which seem well worth coming in for & about the owners & brewers. Our beers were both good & we didn't try the spirits. Parking could be difficult but we timed it well!

It is small, quaint, local, and always worth the stop for a libation or two. The handcrafted drinks are excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and it is hard to beat enjoying cocktails made with Iowa-made spirits. This trip I had the Revolver for $9, and Kim had the Porch Swing for $8, I believe. Both were great. The people working there are honestly fantastic. They are attentive, friendly, and somehow keep smiling even when the place is slammed and the occasional loud customer is barking at them. That takes skill, patience, and maybe a little magic. It is a great local business with a fun vibe, good drinks, fair prices, and staff who make the stop even better. We will absolutely keep coming back when we ride through Cumming, and in the meantime we will keep buying their products from local stores in Ankeny too. Great job, Iowa Distilling Company.
