This time I stayed at the blackbear Inn which is nice but not as nice as the Inman Lodge just a few hundred feet away. The Inman is 2 man rooms & has a food vending machine, ice machine, soda machine & a nice laundry room that is free to use (actually both have that) Theres a pool table at the Inman but it costs money to use unlike the one over at the blackbear which has drop pockets so that one is free to use. Both lodges have nice courtyards to cookout in & just straight up chillax during your downtime. One wing of the blackbear is 4 man rooms & community showers/bathrooms you have to walk down the hallway to get to. The other wing is 2 man rooms that you share a bathroom/shower with an adjoining room so a tad bit nicer. Both lodges also have dvd's & movies & stuff to sign out & watch in your rooms or in the common areas but every room does have a tv with cable & wifi so thats pretty badass aint it?. Both lodges have super dooper awesome coffee always ready to drink with badass creamer available too & fridges to keep your food & drink in. The staff do an excellent job of keeping the rooms & the entire building clean, its not trump tower but its still very nice & comfortable so I dont mind staying here at all. The chow hall is always excellent with tasty delectable food & drink for EVERY friggin meal! Lots of ranges to shoot on that police/military/contractors from all over the country come to train & even from other countries. Each building also has a small gym which is nothing special but it definitely gets the job done. What a super crazy enjoyably fun amazingly incredible bitchin' badass place to stay!

I was lucky enough to know someone who worked here and got me on to the premises and allowed me to shoot their guns. Their shooting ranges are out doors and there are many of them. This is normally a Law Enforcement/Military training ground with some civilan courses in gun safety and marksmanship training. Off in the distance I could hear the automatic gun fire that some of the Navy Personel were fireing off. I asked if I could shoot an automatic and was declined because you have to be in Law Enforcment or in the Military. I would love to come back here again some time soon.

Both in good shape and obviously well maintained. Didn't try skeet..field was closed...but maybe next time because we'll definitely be back.

Well kept and not crowded. From what I heard prices are very cheap for what they offer. I would absolutely recommend trying it out to anyone who is looking for quality shooting experience.

He has two Sig 9 mil handguns, and I get the opportunity to learn how to use them and shoot on an indoor range. Lafayette is off the beaten path, which is a no brainer given the noise generated by the weapons on the outdoor ranges. It gets loud. Inside, the range is well set up, and everyone associated with the club management is first class friendly and knowledgeable. They are also incredibly patient with a novice who keeps shooting up their clothespins and PVC target frames. Too bad I wasn't aiming at them. My exposure to these guns and people has really opened my eyes to the engineering and design that goes into making a shooting iron these days, and more importantly the culture surrounding it. I am very impressed with the combination of warmth and seriousness that the people I meet display. Men, women and kids at all skill levels interact in a friendly, respectful manner. The teaching of gun safety is ever present, and the willingness to accept guidance a clear indication that everyone understands that while shooting is a fun sport, it also requires high skill levels and an appreciation of the potential for destruction. Having checked it out a few times, I now bring my young teenage son with us to join in both the bonding and the shooting. He is a Star Boy Scout and already has taken safety courses and earned the merit badges associated with rifles and shooting. I was amazed that he knew what to do and can shoot with a steady hand. I just bought him a set of "Ears," and we have discussed our mutual interest in taking this further. Lafayette Gun Club is an excellent place to go (if you can get in) to learn and practice this sport, and see what goes into gunsport today. Why only 4 Stars? A snack bar and more comfortable waiting areas in and outside would do the trick.

I have two neighbors that are not happy with them as well. One ordered a gun and was told it be in on a certain day it didn't come in which is not a big deal but he was told he'd get a call when it comes in well he never got a call he actually went in about three weeks later and purchased a gun and still up to this day has not gotten a call. The other neighbor was looking for a certain type of gun and was told they are getting some in and they would call him when they come in it's been a few months and he still has not gotten a call and the gun he was interested in I asked about that type when I was there a few weeks ago and they said they sold out.... They have very little amount of ammunition you never get a call back from anyone about anything. Poor customer service. There wasn't a wait time or anything to get a lane (3:00pm on a Monday) but not being a member did mean waiting like 10-15 min to be see while I waited for members to get checked into the range first which was expected so no big deal. The staff were great too. My dumbass went to not only the wrong lane, but also the wrong range and they were chill about it. They just had me and the guy who had reserved the lane I went to swap lanes. It costs a more than most ranges near me (for a non member), but the range is really nice, so worth the cost difference in my opinion

I cannot recommend this place enough!…read more I came in with a history of gun violence & this visit was to overcome my fear of guns. The check in process was very easy to navigate and the team members were very helpful. Jake helped me get set up at the desk & he assured me that the safety person in the range would be helpful too. It's clear that safety is a top priority here. They require you to wear hearing & eye protection before you enter the range room! I entered the range room & was initially shaken & tearful so I stepped out, wiped my tears & then entered again. John helped me slowly ease up to the bay & walked me through all the safety basics of the gun. He helped me grip it correctly and get a feel of it before the mag was even loaded. He imitated what the kick would feel like. Once I was comfortable with just holding it, he showed me how to load the bullets. I was shaken & nervous between each step but he was calm, reassuring, & patient with me. I eventually loaded the mag & did one shot. From there, my confidence built. Overall, I would recommend this gun range to any & everyone. As a woman who came here alone to face my fears, I feel accomplished & empowered. Huge shoutout to John for his patience, kindness & cute smile. To anyone out there debating:DO IT, even if you do it scared & with tears in your eyes!

Curtis showed true professionalism and is very knowledgeable about gun handling safety. During my time at the range, while I was shooting, my red dot flew off! I let Curtis know, and he was able to retrieve it properly and safely. He told me that new red dots should always be installed with new screw glue, which I was not aware of, and he helped me install my red dot back on my gun the right way. I will be shooting and purchasing my firearms here from now on. They offer annual range memberships with military discounts. Overall, I had a great time at this place, and I hope this helps people know more about this place.

I have been here several times whether to buy ammo, firearms, or accessories and every time they act as if they wish you would've never walked in and never want to do their job. Along with horrible customer service, I have yet to see one firearm in their building that is not wildly over priced. They up charge every firearm at least 100$ then the actual worth. I highly recommend finding anywhere else besides this location to buy anything from.
