Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is NOT there…read more
Let me just start by saying, i've never encountered a worse insurance agent. This entire office is a joke.
I have had auto insurance with State Farm since I was 16 years old, and I have never had an issue. I moved to California from Kentucky, and when I moved here I switched to Gwyn Petricks office. WOW what a mistake I made.
I had an auto accident last year in July 2018, My Mercedes, along with two other peoples cars were all declared a total loss. This happened after my brakes completely failed, and my two rear tires (that I had purchased a week prior) came off the car and I lost control. Not once during the course of filing a claim, or at any point did ANYONE from Gwen Petricks office reach out to me. I handled it ALL alone and via phone with the claims dept. That was almost 9 months ago.
Last week I get a letter in the mail from State Farm informing me that my insurance policy would not be renewed due to the accident. I was flabbergasted. I called Gwens office immediately, and was told by the receptionist that all agents were busy, and he took my number and assured me someone would reach out to me before the end of the day. I waited, the call never came. The next day, I again called the office, and was given the same statement and an apology, assuring me someone would again call me back. Again no call, and that was a Friday.
Because it was a weekend, I was left with no other resort than to call back on Monday. This time I insisted I speak with an agent, and asked to be put on hold until they were available. Eventually I get a lady on the phone named Nicole. I found her hostile and unwelcoming from the very beginning. I attempted to inform her of how I had been attempting to reach the office all week and before I could finish she cut me off and stated " WELL IM HERE NOW, WHAT DO YOU NEED" Extremely rude.
I let it go and plead my case, after which she informed me that she would do some research and get back to me. She didn't. The next day, I called her back and she informed me that she had spoken with State Farm and the decision was final, that I would not be renewed. She offered no support, no counseling on how to proceed, no information on an appeal process, or any alternatives I may have. She simply said " you'll just have to get your insurance somewhere else, AAA maybe? And in 2-3 years you can come back to State Farm"
Seriously? Ive had insurance with your for 16 years and my brakes fail, and you suddenly drop me? How is that fair? I again tried to ask for advice but all questioned were met with apprehension and sarcasm. With a laugh in her voice, she stated " I don't know what to tell you, the decision is final" I couldn't believe it, so I ended the call.
Then I realized I had never actually spoken with MY AGENT Gwen. The person who is SUPPOSED to always be there, LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR. SO I called back and asked to speak with Gwen, and was told she wouldn't be in until later in the afternoon and she would return my call. TO THIS DAY, I still have not heard from this lady. Im starting to think she doesn't even exist.
IN SUMMARY, THIS OFFICE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU. THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU, AND LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR THEY ARE NOT THERE. THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR JUST TO GET YOU OFF THE PHONE AND NEVER RETURN YOUR CALLS.
AVOID GWEN PETRICK AND HER OFFICE AT ALL COSTS.
