The food was great for breakfast and dinner. We had to go and get an order to go because one of my family members came down with a cold, and a bowl of soup is exactly what she needed. With service, there were times were people in our group tried getting a waiter's attention and it took a while for them to get them to take their order. The room was a very nice place to rest our heads. The bath was also a Jacuzzi, but it also came with a nice shower. So, if you are not a bath person, the shower was amazing. In our room, we had a "mini bar" that, if we brought back wine, there were wine glasses to be able to enjoy it. There is air conditioning in the room, which was a nice touch since I like a cold room when sleeping.

I started with a nice blue cheese and pear salad that I really enjoyed. My entrée was a plain old cheeseburger that honestly was stellar! It was piled high with sautéed onions and served with a tomato relish, side salad and French fries. Breakfast was buffet style and if you wanted a full Irish Breakfast you could assemble all of the necessary components. We saw one breakfast choice for the very first time on our Ireland trip -watermelon !

Next day was Sarah, she had accomodate me and my friend to sit in a corner I requested which is near the window with a view of the weather outside. I commend this 2 staff since they were excellent in what they do to make the tourist people like us to enjoy our stay and tour. Give them 5 star.

A full Irish breakfast is on offer and a full breakfast buffet with fruit, yogurt, and cereal. There is an outdoor patio with loads of seating. There is a sign saying the tables are only for dining, but they are happy to serve you if you are having drinks. Drink prices are reasonable. Very friendly staff.

Room was comfortable and well appointed for our two night stay. On the first night, we ate in the restaurant - a practice I usually avoid but it was a long drive from Dublin and many restaurants in the town were closed on a Monday night. My deep fried cod was on the right side of fishiness with just the right amount of batter, My other half's vegetable Indian curry was, reportedly, pretty good too. My 'dessert' was a very moreish Espresso Martini but as I was theoretically here for work I eschewed a second. However, on our final night here, a tour party of, shall we say 'seniors', were populating the reception area and 'enjoying' a singalong with what I'm guessing was a local wedding band. Excruciating noise and made the bar uninhabitable. A pity. Would happily stay here again if I'm in the neighbourhood so long as there are no 'concerts' on !! I agreed but suggested we go and have a look at the Deserted Village instead. The village is close to Keel and definitely somewhere you should have a look at if you are in the area. It is the remains of an entire village on the hillside overlooking Keel. It comprises of nearly 100 stone cottages all deserted around the time of the great Irish famine (though I'm not so sure what was so great about it, it sounds awful). We were fascinated - the houses are all roofless and in severe disrepair but you get an idea of the cramped conditions in which people lived. I would love to have seen a reconstructed house - so we could get an idea of where the fire was and where people slept - there were no fire places or obvious cooking areas or chimneys or anything.

There was a coal fire burning to warm yourself by and a few locals and tourists came and went. There is a kitchen but we only sampled the onion rings which were excellent. I personally believe if you make a good onion ring, the rest of your food is good too. I saw a couple with fish and chips which looked excellent. When in Cong, I can recommend this as a place to stop in for a tea, coffee, G&T or beer. Maybe lunch too. You'll have to let me know.
