Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing, and I will not be returning. From the beginning, the front office experience was mediocre. The receptionists often seemed rushed and gave very little attention to patients. On a couple of occasions, I was not even checked in properly when I arrived for my appointment. Throughout my pregnancy, I also noticed that the quality of care varied significantly depending on the provider. Some providers were much more compassionate, attentive, and reassuring than others, which made the experience feel inconsistent. That being said, I am very grateful that Dr. Grace Lee was the physician who delivered my baby. She was phenomenal--caring, compassionate, attentive, and reassuring. She made me feel safe during delivery, and I truly appreciated the way she cared for me during such a vulnerable and important moment. Unfortunately, my postpartum experience was where I felt the office fell short the most. I developed mastitis twice, and on both occasions, I was diagnosed over the phone. I was told there were no openings to see me, even though I was experiencing significant pain and what I considered an urgent medical issue. Instead, I was referred to the on-call doctor and given a prescription. I found this extremely frustrating. As a patient experiencing a painful postpartum complication, I expected to be evaluated in person when necessary. I questioned how my condition could be properly assessed over the phone without a clinical examination. Overall, there were simply too many inconsistencies in the care and level of compassion I received. At times, I felt like the office was too busy to truly listen or care when I was actually in pain and needed support. While I had an excellent experience with Dr. Grace Lee during delivery, the overall experience with the practice did not meet my expectations. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously, especially when it comes to postpartum care and making patients feel heard, supported, and cared for when they are most vulnerable.

Steer Clear. Office management is incompetent and this will put your life in danger…read more This office is disgusting to deal with. And literally put my life in danger. Test was done July 2024, I was given the shocking results on June 19, 2025. When I asked to speak to either the doctor or my NP, I received a call from the office manager. Her flippant responses, such as you were left a message September 2024. As if one message which I never received, was adequate when the results were so serious. She was nothing but combative and defensive about the issues. I was very happy with the NP I was seeing but the staff is arrogant and this puts YOUR life in danger. Apparently the doctor nor the NP have the time to return calls to their own patients and allow this to happen. Very upsetting to have to deal with this when their lack or competence puts my life in danger, and they take an attitude. Nasty people. They have lost a patient, and left me not only with a serious health condition but also very upset.

She then basically refused to schedule me sooner. Told me to go see my primary care doctor if I have any issues before then. So now I can't even establish care for my own peace of mind and continuity in care? I guess they are just too busy to be bothered. What a shame. I've actually heard good things with this doctor's name coming up among friends. I was looking forward to visiting their office and becoming a patient until I had this very uncaring and rude interaction. I literally told the person on the phone "wow, I'm not really getting a warm and fuzzy feeling so far"... her response was, "Well then have a good day" and hung up on me. Oof. The state of the world right now.

Over the years, she's been absolutely incredible with anything that I have needed. She delivered my only kid, via c-section when his cord was wrapped around his neck twice, with such skill that I barely have a scar and my kid arrived into this world healthy and alert. This leads us to today, where I had to see another OB/GYN in another state. He examines me, looks at my scar and his eyes get wide. He immediately asks who did it and then remarks on how perfect it is. So, while I'm no longer able to see my favorite doctor (Kim) any more, at least I'll forever have a reminder of just how awesome she is.

I have a PPO insurance and when I asked what the $260 was for the receptionist said it was used for them to answer their phones and answer questions, refill medication and for appts if you have other issues. I'm thankfully healthy and only see her once a year, don't take any meds and overall I'm healthy. I wouldn't even use a portal for them as it's not necessary. I'm a single woman on a single income so I'm already paying enough for private insurance and $260 a yr for 1 visit and you are billing my insurance? Come on.... As others have stated here this receptionist is just the worst! She is always reliably Rude and inefficient, and I don't think it's just one receptionist, I think there are a couple of them. They sound completely disinterested on the phone and equally apathetic and dismissive in person. Whenever I have needed a refill on my medications and I have to call and speak to the reception to get the refill handled and they never follow through and I have to call back numerous times. A medical practice is only as good as the front office staff, no matter how much you may like the Doctor you get tired of the firewall you have to go through to make an appointment or get refills. I am tired of it. Also this year in 2025 due to our failing healthcare system and insurance companies paying less and less to doctors this practice has now implemented a $250.00 "concierge fee" per year that you must pay in full before you can make an appointment either online or over the phone. And then you have to wait months for an appointment. So I am currently looking for another gyno in my area and the choices are bleak! Again, this review is no criticism of Dr Hyman herself who is a highly educated and competent physician. I do wish she would vet her front office staff better though for her own sake.

COMMENDATION…read more Recently I was diagnosed with cancer of the uterus. The OBGYN, Dr. Ron De La Pena, was fabulous, and went well beyond my expectations. He had two ultra sounds done and two microscopic procedures to ensure I had cancer of the uterus. I have a tipped uterus so it was a challenge to diagnose. Dr. De La Pena was very thorough and demonstrated compassion. Once it was determined that I had cancer of the uterus, he helped me navigate the next steps including a surgeon. Dr. De La Pena asked to be present during the surgery. I was pleasantly surprised by the request as he is totally committed to his profession. He was present which made me feel so much more comfortable and he actually helped with the surgery which was 4 hours long (robotic machine wasn't working for first hour and a half). This goes far beyond my expectations as well as what I have previously experienced working for a countrywide healthcare organization for 6 years. I have never observed someone so dedicated to his profession and truly wanting to make a difference in healthcare. I highly recommend Dr. De La Pena for your OBGYN needs and although I have only been a patient of his for a couple of months, he has gained my loyalty and confidence for future medical needs.
